DCS 1.5.6.4546.280 OpenBeta stutters and FPS drops As I recognized similar issues with regularly stutters and short FPS drops I did follow some of the advices over here and could reduce stuttering to a minimum but not eliminate it completely. These stutters and FPS drops occur on my normal gaming PC (Ivy i5 3570k @4.5 GHZ with 32 GB RAM, EVGA GTX 780 SC and Win 7 64bit) and on the laptop I did the short test video with: My findings so far: changing graphics details helps a lot with improving and stabilizing FPS (ALT+ENTER to switch to real full screen does a lot in this, too) but could not eliminate regular and stutters and FPS drops setting all 4 physical CPU cores and disabling the virtual cores (HT) for DCS helped a lot in reducing stuttering and sudden FPS drops but couldn't eliminate them totally either (enabling this via the proposed autoexec.cfg seems to produce even better results than just setting the appropriate cores via Windows taskmanager) My conclusion: I think it has something to do with the loading of terrain or environment textures in DCS 1.5.x - will have to cross check, if this behaviour also happens in DCS Open Alpha 2.x with the Nevada map. Attached I provide: latest logfile while recording the test video DXDiag output used autoexec.cfg screenshots of NV settings and DCS Graphics settings Test video (ignore my bad landing - I am testing a new joystick "Speedlink Airrow" specially for use with my laptop and its very sensitive...) (embedding the video inline doesn't work for some reason ...) 1st recognizable stutter is at approx min. 6:05 with FPS drop from ~60 down to 19 and back up to ~60 and another one at approx. min. 8:30 with FPS drop to ~30. Screenshots settings: DxDiag.txt autoexec.cfg dcs.log.txt

Well, I was trying Win10 for several month now since the Anniversary Update and went back to my old Win7 installation as Microsoft is producing more trouble with every update they roll out. At least on my laptop I am forced to use Win10 but even on this build to use Win 10 machine I had to revert back from Creators Version to the former because they put in a lot of crappy generic drivers with the last update that even killed the brand new NVIDIA driver and the manufactorer provided chipset drivers in my system. As soon as Micrsoft gets its stuff sorted with their crappy update policy I will try Win10 again ... until then I'd rather stick to the rock solid Win7 system that meets my needs totally.

Loosing one key after another because of broken activation system Sadly, MiG-21 is the only module that kills one activation after another for nothing and with every update of DCS this seems to happen. Last error is that my key is wrong or no longer valid - same message as shown above - bu I am sure that I had still 5 activations left since I could re-activate it the last time. I really would appreciate if Leatherneck could solve this issues the sooner the better. I am running DCS on only 2 machines - one fixed desktop PC at home and one on a Laptop as I would like to play it when I am on journeys and away from my home system, too. There I have the stable DCS version (1.5.5 actual) the Beta version and the Alpha 2.0. I have no problems with any module besides this one. And I am running out of activations very soon if this strange security checking system goes on this way. It seems that even the smallest change in the systems environment, like connecting the laptop to an external monitor or even DCS updates, kills another activation. Re-activating with always fixing the registry is not much help, because every time I'll loose another key. This situation lasts now for several months if not since the MiG-21 module was sold the first time. So, please fix this finally. Shouldn't be so hard, isn't it?

Up and away I love this module ... thanks a lot

I did buy the Nevada Map as pre-order before 1st Oct. but didn't receive any key at all so far? Do I have to do anything or are the keys not send so far? I really don't get why this has to be so complicated at all as I am logged in with my account already but the system doesn't show any campaign for download for free but I have to pay to get them? Solved: Got it - I had to go to the Web-Shop not within DCS itself. There I could now order both campaigns for free and get the keys ... well - not very intuitive but working ;)

activation problem solved This seems to solved the problem - thx a lot

Activation fault Was trying with 1.5 (exactly it's 1.5.2.48726) as this is the only version besides 2.0 (were I know that the 21 has some problems) I am using currently and I get everytime this error (see picture) though I had re-activated it several times without luck that it keeps this information but demands everytime I load DCS again a new activation - adn I have a valid Key purchased directly via DCS Shop (not Steam etc.) and I am using DCS only on 2 PCs - one for testing one for playing and that's the only module that makes trouble :(
-
After asking every time I try to run 1.5 beta for an activation key, know this dam***ed activation thing tells me that my key is not valid, but it's exactly the key I am shown in my porchase history at the ED store that I copy&pasted to re-activate again. What should I do? That's not a product prevention for theft but a users pain to use such a system to check if one is using software illegally. After we could easily log into our account within DCS why don't you change this faulty activation system and check over there if someone is legimit to use your software?

Well, I have the problem that the pilot has no head when looking back inside the cockpit - as designed or another bug?

I have the same "issue" - it's really hard to sight anything if you don't have a brillant screen@ HighRes

Hi, after applying the lastest update (via auto-update) I get a crash after a random time - mostly Windows (W7 64bit) concerns an error like this: Problemsignatur: Problemereignisname: APPCRASH Anwendungsname: dcs.exe Anwendungsversion: 1.2.4.12913 Anwendungszeitstempel: 519f6bcd Fehlermodulname: d3dx9_43.dll Fehlermodulversion: 9.29.952.3111 Fehlermodulzeitstempel: 4bf70b46 Ausnahmecode: c0000005 Ausnahmeoffset: 0000000000215d8e Betriebsystemversion: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Gebietsschema-ID: 1031 Zusatzinformation 1: c3b4 Zusatzinformation 2: c3b4539fba14d28db0cb1fe252ca9ad6 Zusatzinformation 3: 5b46 Zusatzinformation 4: 5b46e36d8cefde71c12115f882b12e78 I recently did also an update of the current nvidia driver from last stable up to version: 320.18 (installation was done with option 'new' - I never do only update the driver) The strange thing ist that these crashes only happen when I play the A-10 module; playing the P-51 module everything is running rock solid for hours. I didn't test the KA-50 BS2 so far, so I can't say if the crashes occur there, too. As DCS was running pretty fine before the latest updates I am a little confused where that new crashes come from. But before I start rollling back everything, maybe someone else has an idea, what could cause this new issue - maybe it belongs to the newest DCS World version or the newest Nvidia driver or a combination of both or it's something complete different. I attached the latest DCS crash logs (Logs.zip) and my actual dxdiag (64bit) protocole - maybe its useful for the devs. Every advise is welcome :book: - and sorry for my english Many greetings from Germany (near EDDM) Michael (mike_eddm aka schmiefel) Edit: the autoupdate log states subversion .167: 00000.000 INFO : === MiniLog opened UTC 2013-05-29 23:50:34 00000.007 INFO : Current version: 1.2.4.12913.167 00000.007 INFO : Arch: x86_64 00000.007 INFO : Lang: DE 00000.007 INFO : Installed modules: A-10C,WORLD,KA-50bs1,P-51D,KA-50_video_EN,SU-25T_video_EN 00000.007 INFO : LAUNCH found 1 commands 00000.008 INFO : LAUNCH started "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin/Launcher.exe" 00000.008 INFO : === MiniLog closed. Compared to the DCS download section it should be subversion .186 ... was there something going wrong with the autoupdate or is it a problem that I have german versions of the DCS modules? Edit2: today I got the same CTD with the P-51 module - and no one has an idea whether its the latest DCS World build, the new Nvidia driver or ... something else??? Edit3: after getting the same CTD within MS Flight I did a rollback to Nvidia driver v. 314.22 - but no luck: again after ca. 5 minutes of flighing with DCS World A-10 I got the same CTD again with an error in DX9 DLL: Problemsignatur: Problemereignisname: APPCRASH Anwendungsname: dcs.exe Anwendungsversion: 1.2.4.12913 Anwendungszeitstempel: 519f6bcd Fehlermodulname: d3d9.dll Fehlermodulversion: 6.1.7601.17514 Fehlermodulzeitstempel: 4ce7c5a4 Ausnahmecode: c0000005 Ausnahmeoffset: 0000000000005f54 Betriebsystemversion: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Gebietsschema-ID: 1031 Zusatzinformation 1: 974b Zusatzinformation 2: 974bbc37306336002676beb29976f6fd Zusatzinformation 3: a73b Zusatzinformation 4: a73b91df079656f189b534e0ae27a83d I will continue with my research were this new CTD behavior could come from - as I am running FSX with high demanding add-ons (FTX ORBX, REX2 OD, PMDG NGX, ...) on DX9, too, and have no issues so far ... Edit4: Just wanted to sum up what I did the last days: I just uninstalled Nvidia 314.22 and did a new install of the actual on (see above), then did a re-install of DX9 (runtime from June 2010) as I could not find how to do a complete uninstall and then do a totally new installation of directx ... at last I changed my ram XMP-Profile (from2 to 1) - and now all seems to run stable again... very strange and maybe a tricky combination of several incompatibilities but I am not sure what went wrong at all. after some more intensive research in the forum I found and tried that registry fix: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.co...ation_data.reg. That did it now - but I lost 2 more activations for A10 and BS2 - I think DCS should really change their registration system soon, because it seems to cause a lot of unnecessary trouble for their paying custumers - maybe it would be better if everyone could register its products directly in an online-system that crosschecks some hardware-hash and leave that registry stuff in windows... Regards Michael Edit: DCS World now works with all my modules ... but instead of loosing only 2 more activations for DCS world the reg-patch cleaned ALL DCS product activations so I had to do a new activation for every single stand alone DCS product: FC2, BS1, A-10 and BS2! Folks, please, that's not very funny ... within BS1 and FC2 I am now down to 5 or 3 left activations, because I had these on 2 older PC systems before and even for my newest DCS products A10 and BS2 I lost 4 A10/BS2 activations instead of only 2 for installing on my new rig! That only because of the updating problems with the new DCS World version not accepting the BS2 activation. If these problems persist with every new update / module-patch /etc. not only me but most of your customers will run out of activations through this process... you really should do something ... I never have seen such a bad activation system so far!
-
Hi, I tried your solution - but I had no success. Even un-installing everything and doing a fresh new install did not solve the activation problem. Stand alone everything works fine with A10 and BS2 - only integration within DCS World of BS2 has that strange activation issues ... and only with the new 1.2.2.7122_19 version ... with 1.2.0.63205 I never had that problems. Maybe there is something left in the system that will not be updated correct or un-installed and causes the trouble ... will have a look for that mentioned registry cleaning tool... Thanks so far Regards Michael Edit: tried that registry fix (http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/delete_all_activation_data.reg) and that did it now - but I lost 2 more activations for A10 and BS2 :( - I think DCS should change their registration system soon because it causes unnecessary trouble for their paying custumers.

BS2 DCS World 1.2.2 activation-code not recognized Well maybe I am just too dumb or the DCS World installation/upgrade/module-integration system is rubbish ... After setting-up my new PC-rig I wanted to install my DCS stuff on that again... First: started with DCS World ... all went well... runs like hell on my new I3570K :) Then: installed A10C from DVD (V1.0) activation... no problem... update to 1.1.1.1 no problem ... tried to install World-module... f***ed-up 'cause meanwhile DCS World had pushed itself some version-numbers forward ... well searching the forums for a while brought a batch file that stepped it back ... then A10-module worked but as I run it, I had to give one more activation without notification... not so nice :/ Third: started installing BS 1 from DVD ... updated ... activated ... all without any problem 4th: installed online-baught download version of BS2 update to BS1 ... all went well... activation outsdide DCS World no problem at all... 5th: now tried to install World module ... went o.k. ... but when I tried to activate with the same activation key I got with my online purchase, it sudden stated that I have a wrong hardware key... hey folks nothing changed on my hardware - still the same new rig... well, some forum research again... maybe I took the wrong update installer... tried that with version...23 ... but now it tells me I have a wrong activation key... tl/dr: folks you really have to get rid of that confusing system... securing your business with online activation is o.k. for me ... but your solution is crap ... maybe have a look at those folks at aerosoft how they do it or others like PMDG ... I am little upset now, 'cause I have spend hours on installing, fixing, updating, fiddling with software incompatibilities etc. instead of enjoying your fantastic flight sim. Hopefully you get along with some useful solution, soon - I have my hand right at my money box to buy that nice P-51 ... but until these problems persist I won't spend any more money, sorry. Regards Michael ... and I am no computer kid but I am used to complex pc-systems for years... little advice: you are really on the beginning of building up a really good flight simulation environment with great potential to grow - but you have to bring your systems together and fix that issues fast or you'll end where the great Janes series ended - that would be poor.
