  1. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides I don't want to argue in this topic but I'm sure I recall someone stating armour needs at least a direct hit from a 500 lb or a 2000 lb in close proximity to be destroyed. But a 500 lb 20 ft away might cause enough damage to disable the tracks, the main gun, and the machine gun on top I guess.
  2. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides With 75ft spacing? A tank is what, 18ft long and 8ft wide? So I take it the general idea is to crush the tank between two pressure waves? Or are we talking CBUs here?
  3. I couldn't find this in the ED manual nor in the many tutorials for in-sim radio operation. When the pilot switches the mic switch to one of the 3 radios, what happens then? Is it PTT in that the pilot has to hold it in order to transmit and will it pop back to neutral if he releases his thumb? Or is it an actual switch which remains in position and as long as it's there the pilot will continuously transmit everything he says? Just wondering..
  4. Currently using a mic and my speakers. I don't want/have a headset right now. When recording in Windows everything is fine. When recording in TS it sounds like I'm a robot + I'm echoing. How do I fix this? Seeing as I do not have this issue in Windows, it must be somehow TS related... I also recall using Ventrilo back in the days just fine on this rig (that is, with mic + speakers as well). Windows settings: - Mic listen to device - OFF - Mic volume - 100 - Mic gain - 0.0 dB - Immediate mode - ON - Noise suppression - ON - Acoustic echo cancellation - ON TS settings: - Capture mode - AUTO - Echo reduction - ON - Echo cancellation - ON - Voice activation while PTT - OFF - Remove background noise - OFF - Automatic voice gain control - ON - Delay releasing PTT - 0.1 sec - Echo reduction reduces playback by - 10 dB Could anybody help? Thanks! EDIT: It happens online as well as off line when testing from within the TS options menu. Just to rule out packet loss/choke. EDIT 2: The C3PO voice is gone by setting Windows mic control to 48 KHz. Still got the echoing.
  5. Yes sir!:joystick:
  6. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides I'd have to search the whole thread for that manually because I don't recall the exact words. However, that person didn't gove any further explanation besides "a straight dive". Regarding a push, perhaps pilots push from straight and level to -10* but I think that's the maximum they would push, based on Eddie et al. on the topic of not pushing negative Gs. But even then you would have the issue of not seeing the target prior to the final stage whereas you would if it were at your 2/10 I guess.
  7. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides Btw, in the other topic I noticed somebody saying one should start practicing with a straight dive delivery instead of rolling into a dive. What would that mean? Head straight for the target, 180 roll to inverted flight, pull, 180 roll back to level, deliver? I don't think A-10s are made for that given their sluggishness?
  8. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides Thanks. Obivously a general rule of thumb, but you have start somewhere. I imagine it also differs per seat/head setting. With all replies here and the flame topic at least the theory is starting to make sense. Now it's probably going to come down to getting it done properly(ish) in-sim. Off topic: the stuff ED left out in their documentation amazes me more and more. Really, how did they think we would be able to manage?
  9. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides Eddie, what do you mean by the tip-in line? Should I start the roll-in when my target is on that line? Red lines are perfectly clear.
  10. Yes but I got to spread to love among others before I can boost their reps again ;)
  11. 10/2 because making a 90 degree turn takes up some space and time as well and you would eventually end up on the imaginary 3/9 line to target?
  12. So for now a general rule of thumb to start practicing would be: aim to have the target at 1.2 NM at your 3/9. A moment before you have it on your 3/9 you bank hard left/right 80 degrees+intended dive angle and pull 3 G. When you're about to have the PBIL on your target you roll out and wait for the pipper to crawl up on the target. Right?
  13. Yeah... Youtube is one thing, doing it yourself is quite another! I always end up way too low, way too fast. Either I have to abort or crash next to the target.
  14. AN/ALQ-184 for the A-10C ready That's the point I was trying to make. Its function is simplified anyway, regardless whether you carry the 131 or 184.
  15. Yes, it was never revealed how to make it happen tho. Aside from simply renaming .edm files.
  16. This. Kudos to those who are giving proper insight. Same here. Going to see if I can pull off those proper roll-ins with 82s. Probably going to install the 476 practice targets as well, BMPs tend to shoot back you know.
  17. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides Interesting, never took that into consideration. I once blew myself up in mid-air while dropping bombs. Must be item no. 2
  18. Well since we're at it anyway... 'why'?
  19. Yeah that's the entire point! The more I dig for intel, the more questions arise.
  20. Eddie, thanks for the explanations. This, combined with the flame topic, and some more Googling got me some pointers. Gotta be honest, I never heard of rolling-in for instance. I just pushed neg-G till my eyes popped out to focus on target. This is why I'm desperately looking to be taught properly somehow. Supersheep, interesting question.
  21. AN/ALQ-184 for the A-10C ready I had nothing to do with that though I doubt they would use other methods than the ones in the mod. Unless there's a major overhaul coming up.
  22. Flagrum, we've both ninja'd our ways around here, but you've given me a final answer, thanks! Supersheep, although I have the battle book PDF, I've never come up with that thread while searching for info. Prolly lack of proper terms used. Apologies if one or more things are answered in there. Starting to read now. Should you be allowed to share that documentation, I'd be happy to receive a link!
