  1. So the whole proces of self designating for CCIP delivery at best applies only when the pilot is able to visually acquire the target. Merry Christmas everybody!
  2. JSGME should offer the ability to place your mod folder outside your DCS root folder. E.g. at C:/downloads/DCS mods/. Saves you the trouble of constantly keeping a local mod respository and a seperate mod folder inside the root as well. If you change or update mods you just update the repository. Also nice when reinstalling DCS after a DCS root folder wipe.
  3. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides Eddie, earlier you talked about how visual cockpit cues are used in CCIP. I'm far less educated in this matter as you guys are but in general this just feels limited to me. How do you engage a target you can't see because it's covered and camouflaged? Or because of low light weather conditions? Or at night when a HUD becomes blurred through your NVGs? PS: yeah np Super
  4. Pajazy, I've got a Sidewinder Pro stick; that is a stick, a hat on it, a trigger, and 3 buttons in an up/mid/down fashion. I have every single HOTAS function and then some bound to my stick using a simple yet ergonomic logic of modifiers on my keyboard. I've been playing -10C for a while and I dare to say it takes just as much time getting used to as it would take for an actual HOTAS. What I'm trying to say here is if you're trying to find reasons why you shouldn't play -10C, you will probably find a bunch. If you're trying to be creative and try to fly the Hog with (very) limited resources, there are definitely ways to do so. It's all up to you. This is my set-up of modifiers and keys. Just to get you an idea of what's possible. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0SYL_DwfgbGZ3FUOTVteWxHOXc/edit?usp=sharing Download the XLSX if you want but make sure you look at the proper sheet. I've got set-ups for the -10C HOTAS as well as the -16 HOTAS.
  5. Yes I think you're right but I'm assuming we will still have those aerobatics maps then! :)
  6. DCS Hawk. Would be great for all those -10C servers currently running an aerobatics map! Happy holidays everyone and have a good one!
  7. You need to aim to have it 45* when youre 1.9 NM away from the target, not constantly. If you want to do it precisely you would have to fly a straight line parallel to the line leading to the target. Using (co)sinus you can calculate how far off to the left/right youre line should be compared to the line leading directly to the target. Eventually you will intercept the 45* offset line at a distance of 1.9 NM. I'll make a drawing in a minute.
  8. Just to be clear on something, when the delivery planning states 45* offset and 1.9 NM base; that means I should keep my target at 45* left or right of my ZSL and start a roll-in when the ground distance to the target is 1.9 NM, so that I have made a 45* turn at roll-out. Right?
  9. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides I have a roughly similar approach but I still find it difficult to guess, measure, and imagine on my screen. Current lack of TIR (free track broke down) is also not beneficial to my spatial orientation.
  10. Neither here. Progressing slowly.. I manage to apply the theory completely. However, issue is that this cockpit referencing stuff isn't working for me somehow, IMHO it's too much of a guesstimation based on a situational awereness which can not be generated from sitting behind a 2D screen. I need to find accurate and to the point tools to establish my distance in tenths of miles and bearing to my target in order to roll-out at the proper spot in 3D space.
  11. Now that we've been taught the theory on DSMS profiles (the sleds), I'd like to know if I can pre-load them into my DSMS a lot more efficiently than by entering them one by one in-pit? I'm thinking of something like having all MK-82 profiles loaded if I'm carrying an actual 82. That would only leave me with turning the profile ON/OFF and altering one or two variables. IMHO much more comfortable than starting from scratch(pad) every time. I know that a data cartridge function is not implemented but perhaps I can mimic it the same way I can 'pre-load' my own CMS profiles by editing the LUA file? I've found a DSMS app but it's not of much use. It's bugged, hangs, and only works per single player MIZ file. I'm looking for a more complete and general way.
  12. It was never intended to come across as such. Thank you for completing it.
  13. Thank you for filling in the questionnaire. I admit it is over-complicated but currently I'm bound by certain rules set by my supervisor. If I would've just asked you to give your opinion using simple questions, University'd argue that it is subjective and biased.
  14. To all, As part of our University programme my thesis partner and I are currently conducting research on prefered job features and the extent to which people are willing to accept less attractive jobs when they can only afford to be unemployed for a limited period of time. As a measurement tool for this study I have set up an online survey. It would be great if you were willing to spend a few minutes of your time filling in this questionnaire to help me get closer to my graduation! Besides an indication of the level of your education, your age, and your gender, you will not be asked for any personal information. If you do not want to provide the name of your education you can fill in 'private' or anything else implicating you want to keep that information private. All results are treated confidentially and will only be used for this (non commercial) academic research. Results are treated and analysed as a group and only after the minimum number of completed questionnaires has been reached. Since we are interested in the general opinion of our sample, there is no such thing as a wrong, right, or prefered answer. Even if you are not in a position where you will need to apply for a job in the near future (e.g. in the upcoming 12 months) your opinion is still valuable in measuring how important you find certain job features. You can find the online questionnaire here. Thank you very much in advance! Jp
  15. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides But your sleds use a default height as template, not an altitude so ground level elevation + height as per sled = actual required altitude MSL. At least that's how I understood it..
  16. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides Ah it seems the hawgsmoke 2012 PDF covers it a bit, pp. 15-17. Super, fionikos.org is sharing via their FTP. You can Google it.
  17. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides Yes!
  18. Eddie, do sleds such as those in the battle book also exist for LAT/MAT and/or gun and rocket strafes?
  19. Click- and Customizable Radio Menu for DCS World Currently I'm having a small problem using this mod which I haven't had before. Whenever the radio menus are not on my screen, the sim still registers a mouseclick in the menu region as an F[xx] keypress. For instance, when I click at the spot where F10 would be if the radio menu were toggled on, it takes me to the map screen. How do I fix this? I'm using the left mouse button.
  20. Teamspeak 3 can't get rid of echo Update: with mic volume at 100% the issue is gone. However, when I either apply additional mic gain in Windows OR when I apply auto volume boost in TS3 it starts echoing. Currently I have this option set to OFF and Windows mic gain to +0 dB but now people can hardly hear me.
  21. Thanks for the advice although it seems the mic was already muted under the playback settings.
  22. I have roughly the same in mind. That is why I asked about the R/L operation of the mic switch.
  23. Isn't that post suite 3.3 stuff?
  24. Will try tomorrow evening. Shanks so far!
