  1. Didn't I read a while back that even if you spend your 10 activation attempts, you will get a new one every month? It's not like ED forbids you to change hardware... It's just that they don't like you paying once, running twice.
  2. Skate, Perhaps FC3 fidelity was a bit cynical but a while back I had a conversation with one of the -18E people and judging by all the stuff they have to simplify or leave out because it's classified, I for one would hardly call it -10C fidelity level. Especially the ones in bold face make me brand the -18E as FC3 fidelity. Not that there is anything wrong with FC3, it's just that each has their own preference. Hence my remark: if you don't mind FC3 fidelity.
  3. Perhaps a silly question but given that 80+planned dive angle=roll angle. What do you use as a queue to know whether you're on the proper roll angle? I find it very disorienting when I have to look down at the ADI when everything's already happening so quickly I can barely hold up.
  4. Ok thanks. Was talking about a straight in.
  5. Make a copy of your DCS World on the SSD. Rename the original DCS World on the HDD to something else. Run the .EXE from DCS World on the SSD and see if it gives you any errors.
  6. Proper blurring can even improve FPS. If the engine knows it will show certain objects blurry, it renders them with a lesser LOD at the times the blur occurs. For instance Mass Effect 3 (2 maybe as well) does this and the older Guild Wars MMO had very good blurred graphics for its time. If you turned blur off you'd see nothing but plain old textures.

    HMCS

And imagine all the additional HOTAS commands..
  8. If you don't mind an FC3 fidelity. Hi-fi -18C is going to take at least roughly two years.
  9. For a normal landing, do you want to fly at the required IAS for landing at the 10nm out or do you want to gradually reduce your speed from let's say 250kts at 10nm out to let's say 130kts at touchdown?
  10. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/510510/ There you go. Or just install 1.2.7, you'll get a nice and shiny icon for it in the loadout manager as well.
  11. Please get us an ad-free iOS version. You know you want to release that.. Deep inside.. You know! Ad-free. For iOS. Thanks :)
  12. It's their bread and butter ;)
  13. Looking for comprehensive dumb bombing guides Does one generally deliver cluster bombs in CCIP anyway? I imagine the average angle of CCIP deliveries are too steep with respect to submunitions spread. I would assume CBUs are dropped in CCRP or max. 10 degree nose down CCIP as you want to bomb to travel as horizontally as possible?
  14. Rungaul, if you're interested I have put together a sheet for myself containing the default loadouts Eddie once posted (changed -131 to -184 though) and the drag indices based on those loadouts. Perhaps a few loadouts are no longer up-to-date but in general it's probably still applicable. Note, I've based the ALQ-184 index on the actual ALQ-184-7 index of 0.99. Not sure whether ED is using the correct value though. Should you encounter a false loadout index you can always change it in the indices tab. Cells are referenced so sheets will update. If you want to filter out specific information you can use the loadout table. EDIT: Updated. Had missing LAU-105s for AIMs/CATMs and TERs instead of LAU-88s for MAVs.
  15. By the way, given that the OPFOR in DCS uses Russian hardware, wouldn't it be slightly more accurate to replicate the desert-ish terrain of e.g. Iraq? Or Syria? Taliban fighters use old technicals with MGs mounted on the back and some leftover Stingers but that's about it. I think your work is great and it's bringing us a step closer to the operations we see currently (or in the past 10 years) on news channels and documentaries. Immersion's definitely going up if you manage to release this 'repaint' bug free! Which brings me to the following question, now that you have proven it to be possible to repaint the current map, do you think it is possible to edit the terrain mesh, borders, cities, rivers, lakes, etc.? Either creating a fictional Middle Eastern-ish country or attempt to replicate one of the countries I mentioned?

  17. GeForce GT620 enough? is that an actual question or a sarcastic way to tell me my assumption is false? :) Btw, if the latter is the case that would definitely be a bummer anno 2014. I know all the talk about how you cannot compare a hifi flightsim to FPS' etc. but common... We're reaching a point where OS designers are no longer supporting single core CPUs and x86 architecture (tabs and phones left aside).
  18. OK
  19. Power/Speed Well, nice pics.. But what are you trying to say? The inner ones can still be fired without damaging the wheels? What about the common belief that they shouldn't be fired then? Is that a made up story?
  20. Off topic: Ehmm.. isn't EDGE supposed to increase performance instead of decrease as its demand is divided over multiple cores whereas currently all processes minus the audio run on 1 core and because it is a more efficient engine in general?
  21. Power/Speed Rungaul, as a rule of thumb I never put on TERs. Except when I need 4 MAVs, but I generally try to go with 2. You can't fire more than 4 anyway since the inner ones' exhaust would damage your tires.. Next to that, the outer one is likely to damage the TGP so if you carry one it'll come down to two MAVs. Also, if I'm absolutely sure I won't encounter threats, I leave the AIMs and ECM at home as well. I recall reading A-10s don't carry AIMs and ECM in Afghanistan for example as the AAA threat mainly consists of AKs and Dushkas.
  22. The Ultimate DCS World JSGME Guide - If you use mods, you need this. Find the directory structure where the files should be placed. Then make a folder named RWRmod and place the entire structure in it. Finally, put RWRmod in your JGSME mods folder. It's really that simple. There is no such thing as a JGSME-able mod. JGSME is merely a tool to overwrite files with files loaded in the JGSME mods folder. The only thing you should be doing is creating the proper directory structure. Assuming you know the basics of how folders and structures work in Windows. EDIT: Here's an example: Let's say you've edited the graphics.lua and want to use it as a mod to toggle ON/OFF via JGSME. graphics.lua is located in DCS World/config/graphics.lua. You are going to name your mod My_Custom_FX. Go to your desktop and create the following directory structure: My_Custom_FX/config/ and put your modified graphics.lua in it, this will result in: My_Custom_FX/config/graphics.lua. The only thing left to do now is to put your My_Custom_FX folder (and its content) in your JGSME mods folder as appointed during JGSME configuration. Let's assume you've told JGSME to call that folder MY_MODS. If done properly you will end up with the following: The original: DCS World/config/graphics.lua The mod: DCS World/MY_MODS/My_Custom_FX/config/graphics.lua JGSME will now list a mod called My_Custom_FX. To load it, simply select and activate it. It will overwrite whatever is in the original DCS World/ folder with whatever you've put in your My_Custom_FX/ folder, that is why reproducing the proper directory structure is important.
  23. F-18 is right. You're supposed to rename it to A-10C-CPT-CLK-OFF-02.dds Instead of A-10C-CPT-OFF-CLK-02.dds
  24. I'm going to rob Slowhand! Have a good one all!
  25. So when's the raffle?? Merry Christmas all!!
