  1. Great, thanks  I assume you've created / tested this with 1.2.10? I only ask because often missions created with older versions need re-saving in the ME before they'll work properly (even that doesn't fix all missions but 90% of them).
  2. Yeah I guess. Thanks for your help.
  3. Nope, that didn't work. Tried just with A-10C and got the same error when trying to start a mission. After clicking threw all the errors, the mission did actually start but locked to an external view!
  4. I think that's just the splashscreen art I selected isn't it?
  5. Nice one Flagrum. God knows how that got there (it said STEAM inside) but deleting it has given me the Module Manager back  Clicking on Module Manager and it detected the new modules I just purchased in the flash sale and downloaded them. After that, I could view all the Serial numbers for my modules in MM. Going to an Instant Action for the Sabre, which was one of the new modules I've just purchased, it threw up the activation prompts for all my modules and I had the same error when trying to activate them, until it got to the Sabre, which accepted my key and loaded. Then I tried the Mi-8, which was the other module I bought today and the same thing happened, although I didn't have to enter my key for the Mi-8 when it got to that and it just loaded. I would have thought if MM has the keys already (not sure where it got them from!) then that's how it should be though, so I'm not sure why I had to enter the Sabre key. Not sure why it's throwing up the activation prompts for the other modules when I'm trying to launch the Sabre or Mi-8 either. I guess I'll try deleting the modules one by one and see if the repairer gets them working again. I won't delete the missions as they're the biggest part of most of the modules!
  6. Yeah, it's installed on my S: partition and my Steam install is on D: I checked with process monitor and it loads all the files from S:, not D: If it was the Steam version, surely the repairer/updater wouldn't even be there or work would it? After I deleted the contents of bin/ and ran the repairer to replace them, wouldn't that have removed any Steam files, even if I had put them there by accident (which I don't think I've done)? I mean, the other files are just data aren't they, so there'd be no difference between the Steam and non-Steam versions of those would there?
  7. No. I've got a triple-boot system so deactivated on the other two Windows but left this one, out of curiosity to see if it would need re-activating or not. Logs attached as requested. DCS_Logs.zip
  8. As you can see from this screenshot, I don't have "Module Manager" in my DCS menu I've tried running repair and even deleting the contents of bin and running repair but it's still the same. I don't really want to have to delete everything, download DCS and then reinstall from scratch. The bulk of DCS is in the Bazar folder (11GB) anyway and it doesn't look like the files in there are anything to do with the GUI. So if anyone can advise what files are used by the GUI I can try deleting them and run a repair to replace them. I'm not sure why repair isn't replacing whatever broken files are causing this problem anyway though. I also can't activate my modules. I just upgraded my mobo/CPU, so it prompts me to do so and already has the key entered but then says "incorrect time server settings" error when I click OK. I can't deactivate them now either, due to the hardware change but I'm not bothered about that. I checked the time in the BIOS and that's correct, to hour and minute anyway, my phone doesn't show seconds but I've been told it doesn't need to be that accurate. I don't think the BIOS time should matter anyway, as Windows syncs itself to a timeserver and there's not much point doing that if it just ignores that and uses the BIOS time instead. I tried activating the alternate way via the star-force website as well and that says my hardware code was generated more than one day ago. I can't use the website to try and deactivate, as if I select "alternate method" from the module deactivation screen, it says "Are you sure" and then gives an error that it failed, without ever showing me any codes to enter into the website.
  9. I tried deleting everything in bin and running the repair, as I thought that might be all the GUI files but I'm still missing "Module Manager". I'll start a thread in the DCS World - Bugs subforum.
  10. Yeah, I really like the interface as well. Being able to categorise commands and sort them by category really helps keep the list tidy. It's also nice being able to edit the files in Notepad++ as well and makes it easy to do Search and Replace and copy and paste commands from one profile to another. I would prefer if the key entry just let you press the required keys (as I've seen with some other programs, like Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center) rather than having to select Alt from one dropdown, Ctrl from another and then typing in a character in a third box, as that's a bit fiddly. I hope he comes up with a new version sometime soon and makes this change and adds an accuracy slider, as those are the main things I think it needs. I know he's planning to release a new version but not sure how far he's got with it. Maybe if some more people support him and buy the current version it will help spur him on ;) What boost/volume settings do you have on your mic input? I find it can be tricky to find a setting that works well for TS and VAC at the same time, although +20db boost and 70-80 volume seems to work reasonably well for both. That's why I tried using my PS3 Eye mic, so that I could set my headset mic up for TS and not have to worry about VAC but without a volume setting for the PS3 Eye, it sometime struggles to pick up my voice. It does seem to be more reliable and less error-prone than my headset mic when it does though, so a webcam mic might be ideal for VAC if it has a working volume slider but of course just because the PS3 Eye mic seems to be good quality and works well, that doesn't mean other webcam mics will be equally good.
  11. Perhaps I can delete specific files and then the repair will reinstall them, rather than delete the entire install and download DCS from scratch? If anyone knows what files might be relevant to these problems that is.
  12. OK, it's not a Steam install though. Done the repair and the backup folder indicates it replaced Scripts/MissionScripting.lua and a load of init.lua files in the A-10C and KA-50 Cockpit\Scripts\ (probably something to do with exports, although I'm not sure why they weren't stock after disabling all my mods). Still doesn't show Module Manager though and I still get the "incorrect time server settings" error when trying to activate a module. EDIT: Actually, the init.lua files were probably modified by EMC, so that explains that.
  13. OK. I've got mods but I'm using JSGME, so I'll just disable them and do a repair. As for the time, I just checked in the BIOS and it was already the right hour and minute. Couldn't check the seconds as my phone doesn't show them but if it should be OK up to +/- 3 minutes then there's something weird going on. I'll try again after repairing.
  14. Windows says it's syncing with time.windows.com. That feature wouldn't make any sense if it just ignored the time obtained from the server and used the BIOS time instead. It's quite fiddly putting the exact time in the BIOS anyway as you have to enter the hour, minute, second but it doesn't apply until you click OK (at least I assume it applies then), by which time the seconds are no longer correct, so if the licensing server is comparing it's time with my BIOS time, does it just have to match the hour and minute or does it check seconds as well? Even the minutes could be out of sync if the server says it's 11:47:58 and my BIOS says it's 11:48:00. I don't know why I don't have Module Manager. Definitely running 1.2.10 as you can see from this screenshot
  15. Ah, thanks, I'll try that instead to deactivate in my other windows. Hmm, I don't actually see "Module Manager" in my DCS menu. If I click on Multiplayer (after upgrading my hardware) it runs _protect.exe which says my key isn't valid anymore and I need to reactivate and clicking to proceed prompts me for me A-10C key, which it already has filled in but clicking OK it throws up an error saying my time settings are wrong. I checked and it sync automatically 20 minutes ago but I tried syncing again manually and DCS still threw up the same error, so I exited from this window. Then each module came up in sequence with the same prompt and clicking Exit for each resulted in it prompting me again for every module two or three times. After that, it shows the Multiplayer server screen but with only half the screen visible and the rest offscreen to the right and bottom and with no taskbar icon, so I have to kill it via task manager. I didn't deactivate in this Windows, which is the main one I use, before upgrading the hardware partly as a test to see whether it would require reactivating. I can't deactivate the modules manually now by running the _protect.exe, as it says there has been significant changes to the hardware. I don't care that I can't deactivate but I would like to be able to activate!
  16. Just thought I'd better bump this, as you probably won't get notified that I edited my last post.
  17. I'm just about to upgrade my motherboard/CPU, so figured I should deactivate all my modules. I've got a triple-boot Windows system and think I've activated all my modules (except FC3 which I only bought recently) in all three, so to be sure I'm deactivating everything in all three Windows. It's a bit confusing as it doesn't show whether a module is actually activated or not, because when running the activator it just says "This module needs to be activated, enter key" and then you have to click on the Deactivate link to open another screen to deactivate. So I've just deactivated everything. It looks like I actually had activated everything, including FC3, in that particular Windows, so I'll see if it does anything differently deactivating in a Windows where it's never been activated (I don't think I activated FC3 in the third Windows anyway). Looking at the Licence key webpage, I can see my deactivations (only done one Windows so far) but they all have different Hardware Codes (as do the associated activations) which seems a bit strange as I'd have thought the Hardware Code would be the same for all activations/deactivations done on the same hardware and Windows installation but obviously it doesn't work like that. Doesn't really matter though I guess.
  18. Strange. It has three activations for me and the author has always said he'll top them up if I use them all (and he has done once already, as I multi-boot so did use them up quite easily). I do find I have to train Microsoft Speech Recognition quite a lot to make it work though and even after doing four rounds of the training, it still managed to put my landing gear up when I was on the runway and said "Flaps to Landing", putting an end to that flight  Obviously decided I'd said "Landing Gear" even though I never said "Gear". I've changed the flaps command to only "Flaps to Takeoff" now (before I had this and "Flaps to Landing" as an alternative) which should hopefully prevent that happening again. I've got my headset mic, which is quite a good quality module I DIY'd into a cheap boom and that seems to work best at around +20db and 70-80 level, although annoyingly Windows thinks it knows better and keeps changing it to 100, where it doesn't work at all and triggers commands when I'm not even talking. I also have a PS3 Eye webcam with built-in mic, which isn't great as the driver doesn't allow for adjusting the level but that seems to be accurate with VAC than my headset mic, when it hears me at least. Some alternatives to VAC have an accuracy slider now, so that might help to make it more reliable. Livrot is free (unless you want to record macros and then it's only 3 Euros) but the interface is a bit cluttered and confusing. It's meant to be able to import VAC files but that doesn't seem to work at the moment and only imports the first key in multiple key sequences but the author's looking at that. http://livrot.com/ Keyspeech is $9.99 but might be easier to use. I don't know if that can import VAC files though http://www.keyspeech.net/home.aspx
  19. Will do. Thanks. EDIT: Seems I can't. If I press ESC and quit the mission, it just goes straight back to the Training Mission selection screen. I flew the "Kh-29T and KAB-500kr" mission first and was able to fire both of those weapons. Then I tried the "Kh-29L, Kh-25ML and S-25L" mission, which starts with the Kh-25ML and I was unable to fire that, on two passes locked to two different targets, holding Space once LA appeared. I've attached the Tacviews for both anyway, as it's all I've got in the absence of being able to save the track. Try not to laugh too much at how many passes it took me to locate and lock the second target with the KAB-500kr in the first mission  Tacview.zip
  20. I'm holding it from the time LA comes up until I overfly the target and it's not firing. I'm holding the Space bar just to eliminate any potential problems with my joystick which has Space mapped to one of the buttons. It works sometimes though, on one training mission I lined up the target as instructed whilst it was paused and after unpausing I managed to fire a KH-29T. On that mission I didn't manage to line up a second target but on a different training mission I did several times but as I recall, again it fired on the first target after pausing but not on subsequent targets I lined up. I'm using TacView but unfortunately it didn't capture this last mission properly. I'm not sure that would help much anyway, as it doesn't show if I'm pressing Fire, only when weapons are actually released.
  21. Ah, OK. Thanks for the explanation and for not going into Driver level details, I wouldn't have understood them anyway ;) As for the primary screen in Full Screen mode locking the input devices, I guess that's why I have to run DCS in Windowed mode so that I can use my touchscreen and Helios. I've found with DCS in either mode, that touching the touchscreen sends a mouse position to DCS, causing the view to move all over the place if Mouse View is on, so it's only practical to use a touchscreen if you also have TrackIR or similar, so that you don't need to use Mouse View. You might be able to get away with switching from Mouse View to Mouse Cockpit always before touching the Helios screen but that would be a bit tedious. Thinking about it, even with headtracking, I'm not sure why touching the Helios screen with DCS in Mouse Cockpit mode (Mouse View is disabled when headtracking is enabled) doesn't cause it to left-click on whatever switch might happen to be under the cockpit cursor on the Primary screen. I guess I'd only really be interested in running three screens as one if DCS could separate each screens area and draw the images on the side monitors at the proper angle to match the physical angle I put them at (e.g. 45 degrees). Currently it doesn't and using three monitors just gives a wider front view and physically angling in the monitors doesn't change that, so it would make more sense to just buy a big screen TV/monitor and have that flat in front of me. Hopefully this will come with, or soon after, EDGE but I have no reason to believe that it will.
  22. I first encountered this problem doing the "CCIP Mode, Unguided Bombing" training mission for the SU-25T but assumed I'd just done something wrong, as I was a bit confused about exactly what the reticle was showing me and what I was supposed to do. However, I've had the same problem doing the "Shkval Directed Weapons" training, where it's much simpler. As per the instructions, I lock up the target, turn on the laser, fly towards the target keeping the reticle aligned, wait for the LA to appear to signal Launch Authorisation and press and hold Space and...nothing, until I crash into the target (well I had to destroy it somehow!). I've checked the Controls and it definitely shows Space is mapped to Fire. The missiles have something like an 8KM range, so I think the LA appears when I hit that but as I say, nothing happens until I crash into, or fly over, the target.
  23. When I start a SU-25T training mission, which starts Actively Paused whilst the lesson starts, if I touch my FFB2 stick so that I block the sensor and activate the motors, it starts shaking/vibrating like mad. So I can't touch it until just after it gets to the point where it unpauses and then I have to grab it and correct the aircraft, rather than being able to have the stick pulled back a bit to try and balance it calmly as soon as it unpauses. It's also a pain if I'm supposed to press buttons on my stick as part of the training, before it unpauses, as it's tricky to do so without gripping the stick and setting off the shaking.
  24. EDIT: Never mind, I didn't think to check Devices in Windows. It seems somehow it had forgotten what the Rudder pedals were and it was showing as "Unrecognised device". I just unplugged and replugged the cable and they're back in DCS now :) Still, if someone can explain if I need three files per controller and if so, why, I'd be interested to know. END EDIT So I've got Headtracker/FTNoIR working with DCS now but now the column for my Saitek rudder pedals has completely disappeared! Any ideas how to fix this, which hopefully don't involve me having to reset all my controls and having to spend hours going through each aircraft setting them up again? I've just got Keyboard, Sidewinder FFB2, Headtracker and Mouse now. It might be helpful if I tell you what files I have in SU-25T/joystick: Controller (XBOX 360 For Windows) {75CC0220-332B-11e1-8001-444553540000}.diff.lua Controller (XBOX 360 For Windows) {75CC0220-332B-11e1-8001-444553540000}.lua Controller (XBOX 360 For Windows) {E393C680-18D9-11e4-8001-444553540000}.diff.lua Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals {963491F0-86BF-11e3-8001-444553540000}.diff.lua Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals {963491F0-86BF-11e3-8001-444553540000}.lua Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals {FEE4AA50-184B-11e4-8008-444553540000}.diff.lua SideWinder Force Feedback 2 Joystick {A145E760-EF97-11e3-8001-444553540000}.diff.lua SideWinder Force Feedback 2 Joystick {A145E760-EF97-11e3-8001-444553540000}.lua SideWinder Force Feedback 2 Joystick {FEE4AA50-184B-11e4-8001-444553540000}.diff.lua T.Flight Hotas X {68AC60B0-E902-11e2-8001-444553540000}.lua The last is for an old stick I gave to my Dad, so I guess I can delete that. I don't have the XBox360 controller connected at the moment but normally do use it for extra buttons. The other aircraft all have similar files in their folders, except for the FC3 aircraft don't have the Hotas X entry as I bought FC3 after I switched joysticks. Some aircraft only have two Xbox360 files. Whichever aircraft I select, the Saitek rudders column is missing though.
  25. Hmm, now I've got Headtracker working it's removed the column for my Saitek rudder pedals :( I've just got Keyboard, Sidewinder FFB2, Headtracker and Mouse now. Guess I should start a new thread about that.
