  1. 1. Can anyone point me to a guide or tutorial about using the radio. Not the simple commands with "/", but things like switching freq.'s and how to find certain ones. I am lost on this, although I assume its simple. 2. Headings. In some MP missions I see coordinates called out like 42.20 48.30 etc. etc. Again, this is probably something simple for most, but how do I find those, and what do they mean? Coming from prop plane sims that are obviously not as tech advanced all this is greek to me. Thanks in advance.
  2. RoF can be run pretty high on a modest system with a decent processor. I ran it for a while before I upgraded with everything on high except supersample and ground to medium with a q6600 oc'd to 3.0, and 8800gts. My system is similar to yours with i5 3570k, 8gig, and gtx560ti (2gig). I have everything high in BS2 with supersampling to 4x 16Qsaa AA, and 8x Anti, on 1920x1080 with no issues. Not sure why you have have issues.
  3. Well the FF feels great and it would be hard to give up. I wish it wouldnt go limp though. The only thing I found do is turn on/off heading hold when moving aorund.
  4. Is there suppose to be no force feedback (MSFF2) when you press and hold the trimmer? Its hard to "feel" what the aircraft is doing when I hold it to make adjustments. I have already reverse the axis but it goes limp when the button is pressed.
  5. Yeah...that is me (Vaxx). Great chatting with you Badger. I hung out in the channel for a few hours last night. Ill try again tonight.
  6. IS there an issue with SSD's?
  7. Not to highjack, but I get random crashes launching the modules. Id say 2 out of 10 times. I am using a SSD.
  8. It isnt that bad. I had BS1 from steam from a long time ago. Here is what I did. 1. Installed BS1 from steam. 2. Purchased the BS2 "upgrade" from here. 3. Installed DCS World. 4. Installed the BS2 upgrade to DCS "World". 5. Uninstalled BS1 from steam. -then- 6. Purcahsed A10 from steam. Did not install. 7. DLed the A10 module from here. 8. Installed the module from here into DCS World. 9. Entered my steam ID when prompted in DCS World. 10. Done. Buying the upgrade saves you $15.
  9. Thanks much guys. Good to see different takes on the questions. Seems I am targeting targets the right way, just slow at it. PeterP, thanks for the links, I have read many of them, but missed the unchain rudder one. I think that might my issue. I guess this weekend I will try some MP.
  10. So first off, I am loving this game (have BS2 and just grabbed A10). Hard to grasp, and it seems I will keep learning new things everytime I fly. I am using TrackIR4, MSFF2, x52 throttle, and saitek rudder pedals. I have only been flying the training and free flight stuff so far. I have the basics down now. I can work the weapons system basics. I can set my counter measures. 2 out 5 times I can do a cold start (but love the win/home start). Still learning the ABRIS system. I had MAJOR issues with the trim until I saw a post about swaping the axis on the Force Feedback (using a MSFF2), that pretty much saved me from strictly using "game" flight mode. I can actually fly now in sim mode. So....now on the questions. If anyone can help me answer some I would appreciate it much! 1. Rudder. Seriously...WTH does it do on the helo? I am a fixed wing gamer and know how to use it just fine on a plane...but on this thing, I cant seem to get it. Any tips here would be great. 2. When starting to target ground units is there a faster way than just using the helmet aim then fine tuning with my throttle hat switch? (x52 throttle). It seems like I am taking way to long to target one unit and move to the next. Again tips would be awesome. 3. When attacking ground units, do I just go into a hover? It seems flying and targeting isnt the best way....refer to question number 2 lol. 4. Skins. I saw some here on this site, but dont see many skins like say IL2, or Rise of Flight. I take it you cant just DL them, pop them in a folder and pick one to use in the game? I love custom skins. 5. Can anyone suggest some good "not too hard" missions to add to my game? Something noob friendly. I already have Bigfoots training ones. 6. Online. How noob friendly is it? I never play sims online but I really want to in this one. Can anyone suggest a good place to start here? I am not great right now, but follow directions just fine. Again thanks in advance for any tips. Sorry for the length and amount of Q's, but sadly...this is probably only the begining of them :) :joystick:
  11. Oh I dont mind showing some support for DCS, so the upgrade made sense. Now, I need to decide if I should get my head around the BS or take on more with A10 lol. I mean...I still have not been off the ground yet :joystick:. Although I do play more fixed wing sims...maybe A10 will be easier.
  12. Your training missions are actually the reason I got BS2. I saw them and saw it was for BS2 only. I gave up on BS1 due to lack of the training missions. And yes, other than the sounds (which took me a long time to figure out why I couldnt hear) they work great.
  13. Hello, I new to the DCS series, and trying to wrap my head around it. I have purchased BS1 some time back from steam, and recently bought the BS2 upgrade. I have it installed now using the DCS World. Anyway, I saw steam has A10 on sale for $16, and was wondering if I buy it from steam, how do I "plug it in" to DCS world? Possible?
