  1. Looks like the P-51 got some love with the latest 1.5 hotfix. There's nothing detailed in the changelog so maybe we could list any changes we spot. Audio changes are the biggest thing I notice right off the bat: the tone when you pull the throttle back to idle is different and the sound of the guns in external view sounds different to me too.

  6. In multiplayer matches, since the latest patch (Oct 9), the kill message shown in the chat window show the wrong names for both killer and victim. I've seen this on both the Dogs of War and ACG WWII servers over the weekend.
  7. I think this is the same crash I just got. Callstack header is getText::EditBoxItem::gui. I'm guessing just a null ptr in updateCaretPosition_::EditBox::gui. Logs and dump attached. getTextCrash.zip
  8. Thanks! I fix game bugs for a living so know what a pain it can be with hard to repro or elusive issues. Hopefully this one isn't too bad!
  9. Some good fixes there but no fix yet for the setShader crash that seems to be pervasive? Does ED need any additional info on reproing that bug?
  10. Multiple times today I respawned on the ACG WWII server and my plane immediately fell through the world. Repro steps: 1. Join ACG server. 2. Select P-51 (happens for 190/109 according to other players) 3. Take off and fly around. Eject or otherwise kill yourself 4. Respawn back on ground. 5. Watch the world turn upside down. Explode and watch it rinse and repeat. Once it starts happening the only way to get it to stop was to exit out of the server and rejoin. Repro rate: 20%
  11. I had four crashes over the course of ~2.5 hours of play online. All four crashes had the same callstack.

  13. Today marks the 75th anniversary of the start of the Battle of Britain, when the Luftwaffe began to probe British air defenses and attack cargo ships in the English Channel. There was a commemorative flyby in London today, with Hurricanes, Spitfires and Typhoons. So nice to see that six BoB pilots were able to attend. Salute to the few.
  14. If you play blue be sure to use TS as teamwork is one way to make up for inferior numbers. It's definitely a challenge being outnumbered almost all the time but I get a kick out of it; maybe I'm just a sucker for punishment. If nothing else I'm really really good at emergency landings now!
  15. You can also check out the 9./jg27 fighting legends server. It's hosted in Europe and has a nice instant action sort of mission. Has good numbers on it during European evening hours and is slowly picking up during US peak hours too. Make sure to grab the mod pack as it definitely helps with visibility and visual target acquisition.

  17. I got a pretty crazy kill yesterday online that I thought I'd share. I was the only human blue player at the time and so when I got three bogeys on my tail I made a beeline back to my airfield. My engine was shot and I made an emergency landing. Just as I touched down a red player strafed me, clipped my plane and he had to eject. First time I've gotten a kill while on the ground! lNwgkYvwWo8

  19. Your best bet is to try the 9./JG27 server first (called AIRQUAKE). Unfortunately, it's only generally populated on the weekends, but when it is, there is always at least half a dozen, if not 10+ on it most of the time. It also has some mods that aid in the LoD issue (i.e. you get to spot far away targets slightly easier). After that cut your teeth on the DoW servers (bit more difficult as the play areas are larger with a smaller player count and no LoD mod to help, i.e. you have to disable the JG27 mod first).
  20. I see the same in my TacView replays, sometimes as soon as after 45 minutes. I'm guessing it's based on number of shots fired, as the earlier cutoffs seem to have much more AAA fire in them. I provided some sample tracks to Vyrtuoz to see if it's a TacView issue but I've yet to hear back from him. I didn't make a connection with not being able to get any kills after an hour or so. Just assumed I sucked as usual.
  21. Just to reiterate what Madmax is saying, lag was bad today. It seemed like it was more jitter that was to blame, as my ping time remained pretty constant (although I'm not sure how often that gets updated in the pool/stats page). Planes were warping around for about 2 seconds about every 10 seconds. It made things just about unplayable. This was around 10pm GMT Feb 14.
  22. I've been flying on the ACG WWII server this weekend and since they've just enabled exporting data so I was able to review in TacView (I'm still on 1.3.1). One thing I found odd was that after 45 minutes there are no shots fired or impacts shown at all in the recording, even though there were plenty of furballs taking place after that. The same 45 minute break happened in recordings that were 1hr 15min and 2hrs long. Is the a DCS bug or is there some export limitation somewhere?
  23. I flew on the ACG WWII server today, primarily to check out their LoD mod. The mod itself is pretty simple, in that they use two of the generic LoD models out to a much greater distance for all the warbirds. I thought it was a very positive change. I didn't have to be zooming in and out anywhere near as much. Is it something that could be evaluated for the DoW servers?
  24. Any chance of allowing data export so I can review using TacView? Big thumbs up on the LoD mod used.
  25. I kept getting a 'Connection Interrupted' error after about 2-3 minutes on server #2 around 16:00 EST today, when I had been able to connect fine at noon. What normally triggers this? I was able to connect and play on server #1 instead, but just curious as to what the issue might have been.
