I was unable to speak to the ground crew with my A-10C,
I could communicate with the Tower..
it was a large base with all the equipment in place, refuelers, vehicles, etc...
I also have Tars and like it, but wonder if it still has bugs...
I had TeamSpeak go on and off with comm problems the other night with Tars running... and it is th elatest version,,
I have been making notes and diagrams with different radio setups, frequencies, and taking notes to make it easier to find the setups..
have to remember what is am/fm/grnd/ and haven't gone into presets yet..

Hey Ramstein, nice Approach on cleaning the plugs, but NOT with WD 40.
Once the lube dries, it will be a mess to get that thing clean again.
I recommend you to get a proper contact lubricant or, way better, to have the plugs and cables checked.
Maybe, some of the fine and thin wires inside are broken and are causing spikes whice may lead to erratic behaviour.
Yes, , but I do have a bunch of cables in storage... I have collected over the years, unfortunately, Saitek used a bastard cable... so my extra spares are the wrong pins.... I have to find a new cable, and hope it's the cable and not the plugs... not sure if they have these cables at the stores, online, etc...
Saitek should send people out new cables when their cables crap out... even if it were for a few dollars...
the wd-40 is safer than a lubricant, because is really a water displacer, where most lubes actually leave petroleum...
but a dialectic grease (tube) is best..
-
ok, I took the cable from my saitek throttle and I didn't have any dialectric grease... so I took WD-40 and sprayed the end of each cable cleaned the excess, and plugged the ends back into the stick and throttle, I think it's fixed.
The erratic behavior is fixed for the most part.. funny how It didn't freak out in my other flight sims..
once in a while I will press some buttons that screws something up, and the thottle jumps forwards, but must be a bad combination of key presses from my stick commands,, but that problem will be another things to look for later.. again, for the most part, no more throttle jumping up and down for now..
the Saitek stuff just turns junky after a few years..

I have these files, traks, but I can't seem to play them back, it has been a long time since I worked with traks.. I am looking for instructions on taking a mission, and seeing if it can be played back as a track, when I load these traks, they don't play back.. so maybe you must immediately save them as traks when the mission ends?
are there instructions here, maybe in the FAQ's, I looked in oneo fhte flight manuals, and it wasn't in there, still looking.
-
sorry, wasn't thinking about Track making.. not sure what I can do now... guess I have to wait until I fly again and see if it happens..
I did find a track in my user folder in Win7 from the flight.. but it's probably to big to post here..
I will try to post..
btw,, do these controls do something to engine management when fuel gets down to some low level ?

** I removed the file because it would not work as a trak... I have no idea why I can't make a trak, gotta learn how I guess..

Best to check your throttle isn't generating potspikes.
I fly lots of other flight sims, only A-10C gives me these wierd problems...
IL-2 COD, IL-2, Black Shark, do not do these wierd things..

was coming in for landing, very low on fuel,, throttle starting going up and down like crazy...just a millisecond after touchdown, throttle kept going up and down, could not stop... before I went too low on fuel, and before touchdown, all was fine... I just had enough to land, engines where still running... but went wild up and down...
,, blew through the end of the runway with my throttle set to off..
no way in hell I could stop it..
:joystick:
I don't understand, why would the thottle go up and down by itself??

Bucic, I have tried your help and thank you
Bucic, your help with the software, layout and insight on this stuff has been really nice and I am grateful...

How many pilots have weird problems with Saitek and A-10C? Lately, Ihave had way to many problems, and it could be my Saitek is worn out, spiking, but I din't have these problems in my other flight sims.. I have tried profiels with in game controls, in Saitek SST controls, a combination of both, etc.. maybe the cable and plugs have crappy connections, intermittent, or my programming has problems, maybe confilcts..
but I have been programming Saitek sticks for 11 years... and have never had so many problems.. A-10C is not forgiving when the stick has garbage-in/Garbage out..
I really wish I could afford a Warthog stick.. and forgo al the twisted hard programming logic...
but back to reality...
my computer sems to run fine with Black Shark, IL-2, other sims, games, etc..
Core2Dup 3 ghx cpu, MSI Nvidia P7n Motherboard, 4gb ddr2 ram, PNY GTX460 video card, 600 watt psu.. 46" lcd tv with hdmi cable..
but the weird controls problems have me really questioning the ability to fly without a killer setup..
I have bene using some of the Jack Bower in game setup, but had to use some control back ont h e stick that could not be set in the game. The rest can be handled in cockpit or keyboard.. I also have my own profiles I setup to use... I also have a nice gaming mouse..
with Win7 X64, I wonder if they have buggy drivers they gave us for the stick?
I am puzzled why so many problems..
my stick is 4 years old, but only used 3...
any other questining their Saitek ability to handle A-10C... btw, it seems to do better with Black Sahrk, at least with me, also with IL-2 Cliffs of Dover..

How can a forum user find out about how many files they uploaded. I want to know how many, where they are, etc, so I can delete old bad ones, and clean up old ones.. or updat them , as we only have so much spece for forum uploads..
thanx..

I use this profile, I don't have a digram for it,
note: in game controls are only set for the Rudder pedals, and for the X52 Pro: collective, pitch, roll...
the rest are controlled by Saitek X52 Pro SST software.
I have used it since I first got BS a couple years ago.. and use it for both BS1 and 2.
In A-10C I did star tusing in Game controls, same with IL-2 COD.

To be completely honest,I was hoping for something with a tail hook. That said and not to sound like an ingrate to the dev team who are working hard on the Pony.
I'm very, very excited to be able to fly a P-51 that is done to DCS high Standards.
Thank You ED/TFC
I bet some smarty pants will make one for use with modman..
:P

I am so happy! Thanx Ed!

if you use trim in helos, it pitches when you release it,, I (and several other freinds)stopped dusing trim a year or two ago,, and don't have to deal with the trim problems.. makes flying much easier, it has a couple disadvantages like firing from altitudes a little higher than targets, while pitched down... so without pitch you must be more level with targets, small price to pay...

I was once rich with Frugal's Dollars, and once in a BlueMoon I shared them, but had I known they were going to be tossed with the website, I would have spent them here..

it should tell you you have 15 seconds,, what a bs feature... the morons who wrote the software (not here, but in real life for the real aircarft..)should have put something in to give the pilot a chance to clear it or tell you you have a chance in 15 seconds of less... stupid, stupid stupid....

I am really excited about this addition...

Can the map on the MFD be orientated North? Like you can on the Abris in Black Shark.
Thanx

with my Saitek gear sometimes I get the rudder spiking, but only in A-10C, never in all the other flight sims I fly and I fly a bunchof them.. when it does go crazy, there is no fixing, just restarting the game..
not sure how and why it sstarts, but you can go to outside views and see the parts moving back and forth with no input from me...
but, never problems in IL-2, IL-2 COD, Black Shark, Flaming Cliffs, etc..etc..

they use a tool called inkscape and profiles and such to make the diagrams..

:joystick: Searching for graphic tool to label joystick functions and print them out. I Hsaw this tool a while back and even downloaded a copy, but now I can't find it or the name.. Say you program your HOTAS/Joystick and you then take the graphic of that stick and it let's you put label by the keys of the functions, you can then save it, and print it too..
I think I saw the program on this website... or others too, can anyone point me to it..
My Saitek X52 Pro has similar function but it's not as good as this free software... as it is much better and precise with information you place by each button...
Thanx..

you wil have a big problem if you tyr to join other servers on Steam, if you have a different version,, unless you run two copies, so you can have the version Steam uses, and a patched version...
I just play and don't bother worrying about it, as they maybe a few days late, but at least I can join the servers...
because everyone has the same version..
btw, I only use IL-2 Cliffs of Dovers on Steam, my Black Shark and A-10C are non Steam, so I patch my own and so does our squad..
imho

kC-135 tankers used water injection for higher thrust for the high weight load... and as far as all angines, they all have their 'best performance range... and the fuels have ingrediants added to prevent the formation of water ice forming in the cold temps at altitude,, (you didn't think they just used pure kerosene did you?).
