  1. I was wondering how the heck you can spot enemy planes visually with the F-15C when labels are turned off, model enlargement is off, external cockpit view is off, padlocking is off? I feel like such a lousy noob in this plane (used to the A-10C flying geriatric missions for blind people). I attempted the Blue Flag server a few times but my lifetime is like 5min in the air after which I just exit the server because if I wanted to die-respawn-die-respawn-die-respawn, I can play call of duty. I know dogfighting is really hard (that's why they call it that way, they are mean, vicious, agressive fights) but my bandits on screen are like 1 single pixel large for crying out loud! Combine that with cockpit scratches and light reflections etc and you have no chance in keeping the target in sight, let be if you have multiple bandits. So how do pro's like you guys keep situational awareness? Never mind the hackers, I want to win fair! On one occasion on the Blue Flag server there was this Mig-29 that took me out head on with guns during a freakin' night mission while I didn't even get the chance to hit him with my amraam!! WTF??!! PS: I did read the F-15C Combat Guide by Sryan which was really informative but it doesn't help at all with spotting enemies around you.
  2. Hi all, I found this thread and I'm in exactly the same situation. I am considering to buy a new monitor. Currently I have a 24" regular monitor and I would like to go larger now (single GAMING monitor). I just came back from the store where I got dubious advise after having done some research myself which I find hard to keep up with (AMD freesync, nvidia g-sync, 60Hz or 120Hz, 2ms or 4ms difference are all new to me:unsure:). They suggested freesync monitors for an nvidia card?? That's technology that you cannot use according to most posts I found on the internet. My specs: Intel i7-3770K @3,5 GHz Nvidia GTX 970 16 GB RAM Windows 10 x64 Home on an SSD, all games installed on 7200RPM 1 TB hard drive. Budget: I'd like to stay below 400€. One of the 3 monitors they suggested is a 289€ Iiyama G-MASTER Black Hawk GE2788HS-B2 (AMD FreeSync!!) Is that like a dumm-ass step to go for freesync if you have nvidia and would it make a big difference to go for a g-sync supported monitor for my nvidia card instead of a freesync monitor and not being able to use it? I have no clue at all anymore and I'm totally lost. Thanks for the help
  3. Mission 19 (Masada): I have the impression the AI gets stuck after the spec ops vehicles (Callsign "Deer") arrived at Bahravi's compound. I do not get anymore radio messages and since nothing else happens I landed and there was no debriefing window. I flew the mission 3 times even though it seems a success and I can advance but I wanted to refly the mission by loading the mission in the mission editor. Once with latest game version, once with DCS_updater.exe update 1.5.3.52724@release and once with an even older stable release. On one occasion I even had an engine fire shortly after touchdown??:book:
  4. OK, do you have windows 7 and do you know how to use the explorer window where you see all the files and folders? Go to the folder where you installed DCS World and open it up. In the DCS World folder there will be a folder called "bin". Left click on this folder to select it and then hold the SHIFT key while you press the right mouse button on the folder "bin" and in the popup menu choose "open command window here". Now select the entire line on this page here by left clicking it 3 times fast: DCS_updater.exe update 1.5.3.52724@release so that the entire line here above looks blue highlighted. Then right mouse click on the blue highlighted line and select "copy". Now in the command window you opened up earlier (the one with the black background) also right mouse click on it and select "paste". The last part of it should look like: \DCS World\bin>DCS_updater.exe update 1.5.3.52724@release Now press enter/return on your keyboard. You will see an install window with a progress bar indicating that the game is installing files and reverting to a previous update.
  5. Hi Bergamo, Did you try the solution they gave me 2 pages earlier? It worked for me. The basic idea is to revert to a previous version of the game. They way to do this is open a command prompt window as described here. And then type the command: DCS_updater.exe update 1.5.3.52724@release and press enter. Now the AI in the mission should work fine.
  6. So what's the difference between: TYPE: PERFORM TASK - ACTION: ASSIGN GROUP vs TYPE: START ENROUTE TASK - ACTION: FAC vs TYPE: START ENROUTE TASK - ACTION: FAC ENGAGE GROUP Also, when I select START ENROUTE TASK - FAC ENGAGE GROUP and select the option to use IR pointer (tried with Predator and HMMWV), I do not have the F10 menu options where JTAC lases the targets with an infrared pointer (spot, snake, steady, shift,...) @NeilWillis: do you mean MISSION EDITOR - BATTLEFIELD COMMANDERS - MULTIPLAYER/MISSION ROLES - JTAC RED BLUE and enable 1 for BLUE? Isn't that if you want to have a multiplayer slot to play JTAC yourself?
  7. Hello, I found this thread through a search. How come in some missions I do not get the possibility in the A-10C to ask JTAC to lase the target so I can search for the target with the TGP in LSS mode? Also, I do not always get the possibility to select "spot", "snake" or "steady" the IR pointer during night missions. The AI seems to be "buggy". I created a few test missions but these options do not work.
  8. In the mission briefing window the year is 2012 but in the FRAGO it's 2015. Nitpicking from my side but I just want to make the campaign even more awesome than it already is;-P All the other stuff was already reported here but I do not remember anyone saying something about the dates not being consistent.
  9. Thanks a lot, this worked for me. Mission 12 is now completed, on to the next!:pilotfly:
  10. Thanks for the super fast reply. How can I revert to a previous version and isn't 1.5 out of beta? Sorry for the noob question.
  11. M12 "Prisoners" APC convoy "ANVIL" does not advance after F10 menu GO I love this campaign, it is so immersive and challenging yet not too hard either. However, now I cannot advance from mission 12 (night mission where we need to free the prisoners at the CLA camp in the mountains). When I give ANVIL (4 APC BTR-80) the GO command with the F10 comms menu, they do not advance. They do advance at the beginning of the mission until they give me the in position call, but they do not move an inch when I tell them to. All the rest is fine, JTAC gives me coordinates, I destroy the SAM and AAA, drop a GBU-38 on the southern roadblock and clear Anvil to commence their attack. Nothing happens. I clear Uzi (Huey) and they land at the camp but of course nothing happens there either. Destroy the Northern roadblock, even the 3 vehicles coming from the North but Anvil is having a picknick. Restarted the mission several times trying FM but also AM mic switch, disabled civ traffic in DCS main settings, performed attacks in a different order, deleted this mission from the DCS game folders and performed a repair of game files (non-Steam) after which the mission was downloaded again. But still no joy. Thanks for helping me out.
  12. What a F...NG pain in the .SS to install this piece of S..T! I remember the old days when I bought the cougar it was a hell of a mess trying to install it. Recently I installed TARGET software because I saw a YouTube video and wanted to give it a try (being used to Foxy) but since the install of TARGET, my cougar started to give me strange error messages not able to load this and that blabla. Uninstalled TARGET, still not solved. Even got freakin' windows message on startup asking to launch startup repair or start normally (possibly due to hardware change). Jeezus Christ man, uninstalled the cougar and related crap using Revo uninstaller to clean up all mess. Found this thread after trying to reinstall and getting the dll message. So lots of blabla and to come to the point, or what worked for me: A combination of all posts here! Damn this piece of hardware but unfortunately, die hard simmers like us need it so there is no way to ditch it! We're stuck with it! Furthermore, to learn how to program the thing you either need to be an engineer who's good at programming, or something needs to be wrong with your brain. What worked for me (quick no-crap-rant-rage-lines): * Uninstalled Foxy, thrustmaster and residual crap using Revo Uninstaller (free) and manually deleted entire HOTAS folder (after backing-up my "profiles" and "files" folder!!) * Disabled UAC * computer restart * I used compatibility mode (Vista SP2, admin rights) in 2007_HCO_VISTA_64_RC1 * Connected Cougar when asked while watching IN and OUT drivers being installed by Windows * Computer restart * F.....g STTubeDevice203.dll message appeared again upon windows start * Copied the STTubeDevice203.dll (located in: HOTAS\drivers folder) into "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" * Computer restart followed by black screen asking to start windows normally or launch startup repair (possible hardware change is the cause) * Normal startup selected * Piece of s..t works now (HOTAS control panel) * Installed Foxy * Put my backup files back ("files" and "profiles" folders)
  13. Hi all, In DCS A-10C I want to use my keyboard to type into the CDU. I am using a Logitech G510 keyboard. Instead of holding down LCTRL+LWIN and then type a-z or 0-9 I would like to program the G7 key as follows: when I press it, LCTRL+LWIN should be held down. When I press it again, both keys are released. I thought this would be easy but when assigning the LCTRL+LWIN keystrokes and set them to a toggle state, what it does is: it hits both keys in rapid succession until you press G7 again and then it stops. Searched the net and found someone else has a solution but for different keys. You have to use a lua script and save this to the keyboard profile: I tried this with lctrl and it works. But what is the syntax for LWIN key? And how to program both LCTRL+LWIN pressed? Thanks EDIT: Solved. Use lgui instead of LWin. Lgui apparently is the windows key
  14. Hello, I found this thread that is closest to my question. Sorry if I'm at the wrong place. I purchased both the Ka-50 Republic Campaign and also the A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign (online store and NOT steam). When starting DCS 1.5 I received the message that the Campaigns are available for download or something like that. I realised that it's best to disable my 3 mods (with JSGME). So I did this first. But now in DCS 1.5 I was only able to activate the Ka-50 Campaign but the A-10C Campaign is gone! So nothing under "Available campaigns", nothing under "installed..." and nothing under main menu - campaign - A-10C. EDIT: Solved! Contacted DCS Support and they sent me a batch file to put in the root of DCS World Open Beta. Double click the file and it downloads and installs the A-10C Campaign. Then enter serial once you start campaign. File is in attachment should you encounter the same problem. install_BALTICDRAGON_A10C-ENEMY_WITHIN_campaign.rar
  15. Anyone? Should I start a new thread with my question?
  16. AI JTAC ground unit does not use laser or IR pointer anymore in DCS 1.5 This night mission for A-10C (attachment) is a JTAC training mission. A HMMWV AI unit that serves as JTAC with callsign Warrior 11 will provide you with 4 target areas: 1. ZSU-23-4 Shilka with IR pointer so you can see the IR pointer with NVG on 2. ZSU-23-4 Shilka with laser designation so you can do an LSS search with the TGP 3. Tanks with IR pointer 4. Trucks with laser pointer In DCS 1.2, laser and IR designation work fine but when I open the mission in DCS 1.5 Open Beta the laser and IR pointers do not work. Normally you have to select F1: IP inbound and then you can select "SPARKLE" in case of IR, or "LASER ON" in case of laser designation. But in 1.5 I only get F1:"ATTACK COMPLETE" option. fSBg_JTAC_Night_Range_EDIT.miz
  17. For those who are interested, I made 2 youtube video's on how to install and use VAC with Black Shark 2: I had a hard time configuring everything and when I finally got it to work I decided to make a video and share it.
  18. Hi all, For those who are interested, I made 2 video's on how to use voice activated commands using DWVAC.com software. It's my first and modest attempt to contribute something to the community and also my first YouTube video so I hope you like it:) Best regards, Hammerhead EDIT: On user request I now share my VAC profiles for DCS A-10C, Ka-50, F-15C as well as Falcon 4.0 BMS VAC Profiles.zip

  19. Holy macaroni! Looks awesome. I have never built a cockpit but it is like a dream to me. What about the switches that go into these panels? Any tutorials you can recommend on how to build? Just to have an idea but what cost price are we talking about if you want a full A-10C cockpit?
  20. Thank you so much for the fix;)
  21. Thanks, I guess I'll have to manually adjust my settings then in this new version. Another thing I noticed is that I do not get speech sound in quickmissions and training missions. Subtitles are displayed but text is not read aloud. Googled and found something that you need DX9 iso DX11 but I'm not sure if this will solve the commentator sound. The article only talked about gun and engine sound but that works ok.
  22. Thanks, in the meantime I found a way to edit the logbook file: I deleted the logbook.lua file from the folder C:\Users\myname\Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor. Started DCS World and A-10C and flew a quickmission just to get a few new scores and flighttime in the A-10C. Then quit game. A new fresh new logbook.lua file was made with a few entries. Opened this up with wordpad and also opened up the backup of my old logbook.lua. As I compared them, I noticed the new DCS World uses a different layout for the logbook file so overwriting with the old lua file doesn't help. So I edited manually each entry by copying and pasting the right numbers into the new logbook file. Now it's all ok. Still would like to learn about the file structure for backup and restore of settings and configuration files.
  23. Hi, I uninstalled my old DCS A-10C 1.1.1.1 and updated to DCS World. I noticed all my settings are gone and also pilot logbook. I have a backup image of my hard drive before the update. What files do I need to copy and paste in order to have my old settings again? (graphics, joystick and mouse controls, trackir, etc). I found logbook.lua and overwrite the one in C:\Users\myname\Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor but if I check Logbook page in DCS World I have 3 tabs: General --- Su-25T --- A-10C. My flight hours and records are under the general tab only, and A-10 tab is empty! Is it normal that I now have two folders or is one of them an old folder from previous installation? I have: C:\Users\name\Saved Games\DCS and C:\Users\name\Saved Games\DCS Warthog And what's with the config files that I found in: C:\GAMES\DCS A-10C Warthog\DCS World\Config\Input\Aircrafts This is frustrating me. Took me ages to get all my settings to my liking and now I'm back to zero thanks to the update. My throttle doesn't even work anymore and I cannot remember how I did all the settings. Thanks for your help. Best simulator ever so I really can't wait to get it work again.
