    No need of converring. Just copy/paste it into Tracks folder (which is inside of Saved Games\DCS.openBeta folder). Runb DCS game, select Replay from the main menu, and select the appropriate file and click OK button. My track file should run on your pc.

    Do like Skywalker says and don't change the file name. You want to replay it and not open in the Mission Editor, right?

    I'm not trying to convert the file - Skywalker's .trk did not (and still won't) appear in the Replay menu.

    I switched the extension to .miz to see if it would at least appear as a mission in the Missions menu but still no joy.

  2. If using 'Unlimited Weapons' when your Mavericks are reloaded the TV/IR image reappears on the weapon page but you are unable to slew the seeker head. To fix this you have to cycle through the stores on the SMS page and reselect the particular Maverick. After that it behaves itself - until the next reload.

    In the video I have two Mavericks on the port wing. I slew, aim, and fire both without trouble. But when DCS reloads them onto the wing I can no longer slew and have to cycle the stores.

    I tried the same experiment with the A-10C II and it worked fine so this might be an F-16 specific glitch.

    I think which one is for A-10C and which is for A-10C II is in reverse in your post, but this helped me, thanks and cheers!

    Updated, thanks! They should be identical - I blame caffeine, or lack thereof, for not spotting it.

  4. Palms sweaty, ready to go, this time it will be different! The anticipation mounts, you settle back into your seat, you take your controls in hand. You salute the cat; the mission loads!

    ....and then you find yourself awkwardly groping for the mouse or keyboard just to get going.

  5. While setting up custom snapviews is quite easy and powerful, if you get it wrong and want to simply reset to the default values you have no option but to go file-digging-editing.

    So a simpler way to reset an aircraft's view settings (including any custom snap-views made for that aircraft) would help greatly.

    How do you reset this once you've done it?

    I've tried playing around with this, but the end result is worse than the original settings (putting the head further forward to see the hud means that you are that much loser to all the instruments and seeing them from a greater angle when looking down, making it hard to see them, and you can't even see the top row of the MFCD buttons because they get obscured by the cowling).

    OK, there's no way to explain this without eliciting the response "Are you serious? There isn't an easier way to reset the view settings? WTF?"

    Strap in.

    Quick and dirty way

    Go into your C:\Users\*****\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View folder and delete the 'Snapviews' file. When you hop into a mission DCS it will rebuild the file with ALL the views (all aircraft) reset to default. If you only fly the A-10 then this might be the best way.

    The safest way

    Using Notepad++ (or similar) open the Snapviews file and search for 'A-10C' or 'A-10C_2'

    Scroll down to 'Default View' and paste these values in

    A-10C

    [13] = {--default view
    		viewAngle		= 92.924411,--FOV
    		viewAngleVertical= 61.248408,--VFOV
    		hAngle			= -0.010864,
    		vAngle			= -18.992676,
    		x_trans			= 0.150000,
    		y_trans			= 0.000000,
    		z_trans			= -0.000015,
    		rollAngle		= -0.000000,
    		cockpit_version	= 1,
    	},

    A-10C II

    [13] = {--default view
    		viewAngle		= 92.924411,--FOV
    		viewAngleVertical= 61.248408,--VFOV
    		hAngle			= -0.010864,
    		vAngle			= -18.992676,
    		x_trans			= 0.150000,
    		y_trans			= 0.000000,
    		z_trans			= -0.000015,
    		rollAngle		= -0.000000,
    		cockpit_version	= 1,
    	},

    TIP: You don't need to restart DCS every time you edit the Snapviews file; you can edit and experiment between flights.

  7. In HUD and Boresight modes (Guns) - when the radar loses track due to the target moving outside the antenna limits the dish remains locked in its last position...

    gifradar.gif

    ....or snaps back to the wrong place (Vertical Scan Mode).

    Boresight mode

    In this video I enter DGFT-Boresight mode, the target is locked automatically. I then drift left until the radar loses lock. Then I swing back and put the target on my nose but it will not auto-acquire. So I swing out further to the left and the target is re-acquired because my radar is stuck pointing way out to the right - the position it was in when it dropped the target.

    HUD mode

    Here the target is locked up and I drift left until lock is lost. Again, the antenna remains stuck over to the right (although still happily scanning

    Vertical Scan mode

    This one is slightly different. I lock the target and drift left to break the lock. The radar then seemingly snaps back to centre - but the scan zone is now offset to the left.

    Hopefully this thread is not a duplicate of this one (I suspect at heart it's the same issue)

    - by contrast I do not have any antenna controls mapped.

  8. Update - it seems in all Dogfight Guns modes (haven't tried missiles) the radar gets stuck in the position it was pointing when it dropped lock on the target.

    See above post for Boresight mode.

    HUD mode - The target is locked up fine - I drift to the left and lose lock. The radar remains stuck pointing to the right.

    Vertical mode - Locks up fine - I drift away to break lock and then the radar tries to snap back but it actually settles on an offset scan zone to the left of centre.

    e: I threw up a bug report.

  9. In Boresight Guns mode the radar dish is not re-centring after losing lock and gets stuck to the side.

    In this video I enter DGFT-Boresight mode, the target is locked automatically. I then drift left until the radar loses lock. Then I swing back and put the target on my nose but it will not auto-acquire. So I swing out further to the left and the target is re-acquired because my radar is pointing way out to the right - the position it was in when it dropped the target.

    This next video shows it affects both elevation and azimuth.

    Bug?

    I can't think of a good reason why, in a CAC Boresight mode, the radar would not automatically recentre after losing lock.

    Very possible, although I hope that the third in line (after the MiG-29A and F-15C) will be the Su-25A.:thumbsup:

    If it was up to me I'd go for the Su-25, but I think the hurdles preventing a FFFrogfoot remain in place.
