That would apply to Hawgtouch or Softth probably then, so anyone will export data for cockpit building. Lame! :(

The waypoint has vehicles and infantry. It's very easy to kill the vehicles and overlook the infantry. It's pure luck if you volley all of the rockets and manage to kill all of the infantry and the vehicles. Focus the rockets on the infantry. Scout the with TGP so you have a good idea where those little buggers are before you go in hot. You need to launch from pretty far out or you won't have time to switch to guns.

Guys, Rotors don't push against the air. Forcing air up through the rotors does nothing for lift. Lift is generated by air flowing at a faster speed underneath each rotor blade. The volume of air needed to generate thrust (not lift) is massive. The lift fan on the F-35 is an example of the amonut of mass flow need to generate thrust (it should be called and thrust fan!). Having a vectored exhaust would be ideal since the exaust gas could be pointed opposite of the desired direction of travel. However, a helo engine can't produce enough thrust justify enormous expensive of a veectored thrust system.

The cenc has a butterf valve that opensto allow bleed air to turn the superch arger style rotors that turn the actuators. The bleed air exits out From a tube that resonates very loudly. You can hear it when the aircraft flies overhead on final approach since the nozzle is moving quite a bit. Would be an awesome sound mod.

FC3 Not Installing with Ubisoft CD Ver. of LOMAC

Glad you finally got it sorted. -
Overly sensitive vertical axis in FC3? (X52 Pro)
Meatwod replied to TordinVarglund's topic in Bugs and Problems
This works for me. Using trim for small altitude correction is even better. -
DCS config files are not the same and cannot be copied and used from version 1.1.1.1. However, once world is installed the new autoupdater creates a update folder for user files, so when a new patch is applied the folder can be copy and pasted to restore and config changes. Therefore, you should only have to update your config once unless you completely remove your saved games folder.

FC3 BETA first impressions wanted
Meatwod replied to coolts's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Appologies. Uncle Sam doesn't let peons download files, so I couldn't see the attachment. Nothing in your post other than the image hinted that you had installed a previous version of Lock-On. I checked the DCS World Bugs and Problems forum and didn't see anyone else repaorting this issue. I have both LOMAC and FC2 installed and had no problems adding FC3 to DCS world. Hope you get this sorted and post your first impression when you have one. -
FC3 BETA first impressions wanted
Meatwod replied to coolts's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Their campaign missions need an overhaul. Most of them don't work as intended. Example, in mission 6 the B52 is supposed to launch 8 cruise missiles to strike an airbase and clear a path for fighter sweep. All 8 missiles go billistic after launch and fall straight to the ground. There is no back-up SEAD, so the sweep and strike package are left attacking a well defended airbase. This type of mission is going to be fantastic in MP when players can do both SEAD, CAP, and Strike. The boys at United Operations do this well playing BMS. -
I have almost the exact same problem with every mission after 05. The F-15E won't attack the runway and F-16 SEAD doesn't suppress all of the threats. Changing the advanced options to make the strike package ignore threats seem the do the trick. However, if the SEAD doesn't do their job the strike package is pretty much hosed. I'm going to tweak the SEAD load out a bit and see they are a little more effective and clearing a path.

Don't assume any of the profile are the same. All of the profiles will have default settings mapped that you will want to change. For the X-52 the throttle hat is always set to move the view which is pointless for TrackIR users. The other notable one is weapon release which is Ralt + Space that is held down to fire missiles.

Also make sure TrackIR is on and tracking before you start DCS world.

Actually practicing this in zero visability makes this much more second nature. For me, the first few times were very disorienting because of information overload. Altitude, speed, bearing, flaps, gear, etc. The key is giving your self enough time to read your instrument, figure out where you are in relation to where you need to be and flying to the point on the radial that you need to fly to. Alternatively, in the 476th we practice a standard procedure turn for landing. It takes alot of guessing out because the process is always the same no matter where you are landing as long as you know the runway number. 1. Fly to the TACAN. Make sure you are at 3000 AGL when you get there. 2. Turn outbound on the approach fix (heading outbound on the inbound runway radial i.e. for runway 09 you'll be flying away from the TACAN on heading 270. 3. Fly outbound for 1 min. Try 3 or min 4 the first few times just to give yourself a few more minutes to process. 4. Turn 45 degrees left or right and count to 30 (assuming standard 30 degrees of bank). 5. Turn back towards approach fix and line up with final approach heading. 6. Use your ILS instrument to fine tune your approach. Abort if you reach the inner marker and you aren't lined up. This is almost actually the same as a TACAN approach except you don't have to wait until you line up with approach fix, you just fly straight to it with the added benefit of scouting the runway before hand.

The 6 speed shifter on my g27 is a 6 way toggle switch. Perfect for snap views. The other option is to create a macro with your profiler, so any button pressed becomes a toggle switch.

Visit the 476th Virtual Fighter Group to see if you are interested in flying with our group. We focus strictly on realism, so brevity and standard ops are emphisized. There is currently a long wait for an open slot, but you can always join our TS server and meet the brass. This is my opinion, but flying multiplayer without voice comms is pointless. It is no different than single player. Most MP missions developed for DCS require Co-op and voice comm is a must. The 104th Server is always busy and has a decidated TS channel. If you browse the server list, look for open servers with a TS channel identified in the mission description. Join the channel and hang out if no one else is around. If there are people on the server, but aren't chatting in TS then send an ingame chat for a wingman to join the TS channel. This server has a little of everything, so you don't have to stick with just the A-10. Stay away from higher ping rooms obviously and connect at LAN speed. Use the same handle for DCS and the TS channel, so people can tell who you are.

I always catch myself trying to click switches in the cockpit and pushing the center view button on my hotas when the camera movers watching videos as well.

How do you manage your tweaks & customisations?
Meatwod replied to MadTommy's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Does anyone know if MODMAN is updated to work with DCSW? -
Do you have a link to these that you can share with the group? If the new smoke is the problem, then this smoke mod might do the trick.

If you are getting an RWR spike, its farely obvious what direction the SAM is in. What you don't know is the SAM distance. However, all you need to triagulate the SAM position is to change your heading (or better yet fly with a wingie that is offset from the SAM at a different heading). There is a thread somewhere that shows how to triangulate the position using the TAD. I always find this methods works well if you have the time and space. However, like SEAD this method will not work for MANPAD and IR SAM threats. I still haven't found a realiable way to locate IR missile threats unless I get lucky and dodge the missile and survive the first short. I definately need to practice terain masking and pop-up attacks more.
