Everything but the file library is back up. The library should be back up when they get that ready. They say they recovered about 90% of the library including all fs04 and fsx downloads.

This is one of those cases where I have to say, the only mags I would trust for sim ratings would be PC Pilot or Computer Pilot. Other than that, I would only trust websites like AVSIM for reviews on this kind of stuff...

One thing I would like to see eventually, the whole world modeled in DCS. This would allow for someone to fly from nellis, attack targets over the middle east, and rtb, all in one mission, without interruption. Def a dynamic campaign would be needed. And also a bit more as far as combat on the ground goes would be appreciated. I would like to see infantry throwing various grenades, using explosive charges, mines, snipers, even Specops. I would also love to see amphibious ops, for instance LAVs storming beaches, or LCACs landing troops on the beach. Finally, I would want to see the ability to use a pistol as a downed pilot (what kind of combat pilot doesn't carry a pistol...)

I'll find it hilarious to listen in on enemy comms then!

that fixed it, however i would think it would have been possible to edit all axises in a drop down menu in one window, rather than forcing you to select the individual axis from the list in the axis menu, this would allow for much greater ease of use.

Hey, I found this oddity. It seems to have always been like this. The axis tune button, no matter what is selected on the controls menu, is always greyed out. The joystick is a sidewinder precision pro.

i just did another test, and it worked, using the same exact things switched on and off as in the picture earlier. it IS a bug. The gun refused to fire, and apparently is glitched, at least that one time. This time it worked flawlessly.

Great, now I'm going to be Hogging the computer more.....

except it even refused to fire at less than 1 km away (more like around 1000 feet or less away). Furthermore, even if it was not supposed to fire, don't you notice something about the display right next to ammo? It wasn't showing the ammo type no matter what I did, let alone actually firing.

well, with a keyboard, the answer is: Very carefully however, I personally use a real joystick at home and a gamepad on the road, and it makes a big difference compared to mouse and keyboard...

I'm thinking when they release the tools, there will be a manual or a wiki for the tools...

no no no.... BLAME CANADA :P Seriously though, the stupidity of people sometimes surprises me. If anything else, those who ask that question in that situation probably aren't the kind of people we want flying with us in DCS.

Well, what's yours, mine is this: First of all, this is a true story, it actually happened. It was the last day of english class in my college composition course, and I had to do an oral presentation. Well, I was supposed to bring one visual example for my presentation. Earlier, someone had done a presentation on the dangers of video game addiction, little did the presenter know that things were about to turn to irony. Even before my presentation, during the video game addiction presentation, I realized the irony of the situation, and I had a nice big smirk on my face. So I have the last presentation, because I have to unplug the projector from the teachers computer and plug it in my laptop. Well, after getting all set up during the break, I started the presentation. It was on flight simulation, and guess what my visual aid was.... I literally booted Black Shark on my laptop and started demonstrating it using the instant action mission while giving my oral presentation, trying to show visually the complexity a real flight sim can have (sorry ace combat junkies, you don't get to call yourselves real flight simmers....). Anyway, sparing some details, I gave the presentation, talking while flying DCS in front of the whole class. Well, what's your most hilarious moment with DCS.

cant wait for this in the states, gonna have to order it when i get a chance, then take it to school and "study" it in the cafeteria during the time between classes (I'll easily turn some heads with a 500+ page game manual....)

guns fail to select or fire as demonstrated in the track I tried to select guns to fire, and nothing selected, I got the ammo count, but it didn't select any rounds.. he or ap. I should note the only mods I had at the time were new textures/high poly models, and the Russian sounds tweak. Other than that, this is completely clean of all modifications.... gunbug.trk

big note though, if you can find a girlfriend/wife who flies flight sims, or plays video games, I think it might reduce risk of divorce.... otherwise Divorce Creation Software Black Shark
