Ok then, is there any way to extract the building placement info from the game files? That would make my task a LOT easier. If nothing else, I guess I will have to wait for the new engine.

the main reason all the good sims are coming from eastern europe is that the west is more focused on creating run and gun cod clones...

Hey, I just noticed that the editor and the in game gps coordinates for an object don't match up. This is a big problem for me because I'm trying to put the objects that are in game in tacview using static objects and I can't do that easily with the editor being screwy the way it is. any chance of this fixed in the patch?

OK I just tested the stuff you told me to test, I'm attaching an XML file and a replay file, open those up in tacview and look at where all the buildings are, then look at the building positions in the editor. building 1 is that building in the north of that town that is all by itself. *edit New info, apparently the DCS editor doesn't give accurate coordinates in the editor window, the in game coordinates and the in editor ones are off. Same thing with terrain elevation... staticobjecttest.zip

gladly, I'll even gladly allow you to implement it in the default tacview install if you want when I'm done. Admittedly this will take a long time, and I'm starting with small areas first, but this should allow people to see things such as target buildings and the like, not to mention enemy positions in relation to buildings...

I hope here :P Then again, I know I'm gonna catch heat for this, but you guys really need to put out a demo considering the kind of sim this is. I can imagine a lot of people not bothering with it because they never heard of it or tried anything like it. I know for sure I probably wouldn't have gotten Falcon 4.0 if I hadn't tried the demo, and this was when I was a real young kid (pre-teen). Yes you read right, I started flying Falcon 4.0 when I was that young. If it hadn't been for the demo of that, along with my getting lucky and finding a used copy at electronics boutique for 10 bucks, I probably would have never got it, and in turn probably would have never gotten Black Shark, or gotten that into flight sims.

this brings me to wonder if i can do the same with my blackberry storm...

is there any chance of a improvement in the terrain for use with dcs in tacview, right now i'm trying to get some ideas for static objects done, and I'm running in to the issue of the terrain mesh being off in tacview, i put in the height of the building in the xml file and it shows below the terrain in tacview.

my wishes for patches: bring back the native betty option from LOMAC implement all non-classified systems on the KA-50 fix the server browser dedi server please satellite view in the editor implement new vehicles and models along with new kinds of infantry in to the sim (snipers, sf, spetznaz, seals, you get the idea) allow amphibious vehicles such as LAVs to truly be amphibious in the game

The only files I may have altered may have been the moniter setup lua files (trying to set up multi monitor in vista without triplehead2go is a pain in the ...), that's it. Weird thing is it only started happening after i put in the gamepad...

my guess is it will be released AFTER the English boxed version....

Hey, I was trying to test out flying BS with a gamepad instead of a joystick, and I noticed something weird, when I requested a loadout, the maintnence would say it was done, but nothing was on the racks, I though it was just an anomaly and a fluke, well I was wrong, I restarted BS and started an Instant Action mission to test that the weapons work, well they weren't on the rack again, and when I tried to fire them, as they were coming up on the weapons part of the panel as on there, I fired, and immediatly my helicopter exploded. I tried again and the same thing happened. Anyone got any idea on this (no I have not modified LUA files). Right now I'm re-downloading the install files, as I uninstalled and HOPEFULLY that will fix the problem on the system, but I think this is weird that this is happening in the first place. If it makes any difference, the gamepad was an old interact axispad usb gamepad.

vista 32 recognises 3.5 gigs. I have vista 64 now installed, and I can't wait for my GTX 280 to arrive in the mail :P (old 8500 gt died on me...)
