  1. by the way, the updater does support file and folder renames. so it does NOT download everything aircraft from scratch. edit: the biggest part of the update is the AI MiG-21bis
  2. oops, I forgot to push new updater to the openbeta.... will fix asap, but empty folders will stay for those who already updated.
  3. Most likely your antivirus moved the file to quarantine. or deleted it.
  4. the file disappeared from _downloads when the updater was not looking. antivirus?
  5. EN; ...) <- here should be the list of installed modules, starting with WORLD. It is empty, that's why it does not update. It looks like the last, but not the least setup stages failed to execute. If you can find latest DCS-related "Setup Log #xxx.txt" in your Temp folder, please post it, we'll try to figure out the cause. Meanwhile, you may try to repair your install manually. You should run admin command line in the game install dir and do a couple of commands, in fact, replicating those steps of the setup.exe: bin\DCS_updater.exe init EN bin\DCS_updater.exe install WORLD If you installed any additional modules, you'll have to "install" those as well.
  6. definitely graphics related. either a driver problem or a bug in some graphic overlay application.
  7. In theory, the updater can look into registry to restore the list of modules, and/or try to guess it from the remains of files which are still there. But I feel we are stretching it too far.
  8. Ok, 2 ways: 1) do a clean install If I were a support guy, I'd stop answering here, because this method is simple and robust. However, for the adventurous souls: 2) In the game install dir (this is important) bin\DCS_updater.exe init EN bin\DCS_updater.exe install WORLD F-86F ... Replace EN and F-86F to the lang and module(s) of your liking respectively. This will act like a human-aided repair. But you're on your own here. Anyway, I strongly suggest NOT to touch autoupdate.cfg and autoupdate.dat files no matter what.
  9. If you miss both, it is simpler to reinstall.
  10. The list of modules is missing WORLD for some reason. That's the problem. To fix: DCS_updater.exe install WORLD
  11. Thank you for the log and for the information.
  12. Forcing our installers to work with Steam-based DCS is a wrong idea.
  13. it's a bug. happens when you try to update more than one install of dcs at the same time. will be fixed.
  14. Please, post your autoupdate_log.txt from the game install dir! It's a second report about this condition, but we have no logs for analysis yet.
  15. Repair can restore autoupdate.cfg using autoupdate.dat. And will restore autoupdate.dat if you still have a valid autoupdate.cfg file. But if you lost both, the updater can't figure out what to update/repair and only solid option is to reinstall.
  16. Repair should restore the cfg file and update your install to the latest version.
  17. A nice advice... to completely break the install.
  18. INFO : No config file. By deleting autoupdate.cfg file you just removed your install from the updates.
  19. it would be nice if you share your autoupdate_log.txt file from the game folder. if there's none, please, post your autoupdate_templog.txt from the your Temp folder.
