  1. Are really the cluster bombs that can carry the a-10 so hugely much efficient than the ones that can carry the F-18? With any of the cluster bombs of the A-10, even with default settings, I manage to destroy most of the trucks in the included missions. With any of the cluster bombs of the F-18, even with different HT settings, altitude, etc.. I manage to destroy not mote than one or two trucks..... TestCBU.zip
  2. For quite a long time for each aircraft you can replace almost all sounds separately. Even if they are in the main folder of sounds. It is enough to place the sounds (and sdefs) in the folder of a specific aircraft with the same name (for example ...\LockOnExe\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\F-16\ and ...\LockOnExe\Sounds\sdef\Aircrafts\F-16\). And they will be used instead of default Hello and thanks, but I don't quite understand. If I would like to revert the sounds of the A-10C to the ones pre-2-5.4 (I have a full backup of DCS from december 2018) what should I do?
  3. Hope is the last thing to loose, but for now, it seems that the glorious A-10 has been put aside. And not only that, its sound, wich was perfectly OK, has been messed up.... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=230832
  4. Well, thank you very much, that worked perfectly, and was very easy, provided a kind person like you finds it out and shares.... And even more inexplicable, being so easy to do, that ED took it away and did not put i back again. It takes literally 30 seconds....
  5. What do you mean by "just why the drama if it looks like it wasn't intentional, or was it?" ?????
  6. That rumbling noise is easily corrected, as I have posted before. The wrong turbine noise is more difficult, but I'm on it.
  7. Well, you are wrong there, there is much one can do about it, as I did eliminating that rumbling noise. And I am very much whining, yes, the sound of the glorious A-10 was nearly perfect, and they have messed it up.
  8. I completely agree that the sound is incorrect, but the sound on the ground and High speed in the air IS NOT the same, it is just the opposite as it should be, see my explanation below. The two files responsible for the annoying, far too loud, rumble noise are these: A10InHeAmbL.wav A10InHeAmbR.wav Found in \Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Engines. I just reduced the volume of these with a wave editor, so that's fixed. But the biggest problem is the turbine sound wich INEXPLICABLY gets QUIETER with more throttle / speed, instead of LOUDER as it should be, and as it is in all other DCSaircrafts.

    A big THANK YOU!

  10. Or how hard can it be to include in the settings the ultra option, wich seemingly, inexplicably, was removed. Updated the release version yesterday. Still no way to select "ultra" in the settings. Can somebody from ED explain me why there is a line "ultra" in the shadows.lua configuration file, but it doses not appear in the settings ???
  11. You are welcome. Though in spite of fumbling hours with sdef's wav's and ogg's I was not able to correct that turbine sound wich INEXPLICABLY gets MUCH quieter with more throttle / speed, and wich was perfectly OK in 2.5.3. Wish somebody could tell me how to revert the sound of the A-10 to that version...
  12. Hello, The two files responsible for the annoying, far too loud rumble, high and constant soundas I think you are calling it, are these: A10InHeAmbL.wav A10InHeAmbR.wav Found in \Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Engines. I just reduced the volume of these with a wave editor.
  13. I have asked him, but no replies. Such a chaos with the sounds of the A-10. They are literally scattered in many directories, not like other aircrafts.
  14. Hello btd, for me is tto quiet ONLY at high rev / throttle... But tell me, can you kindly reply what I was asking: You write that I can can always keep the sounds from the old versions... Well, would you be so kind to tell me how I d can do that? The sounds of the A-10C are scattered in many folders, /Mods /Sounds / etc....
  15. No Problems here with the scale GUI or radio text. Though the frame rate counter / stats font is definitely too small..... Monitor @ 4K
  16. It was not perfect, but better than it is now. If that drag sound covers the sound of the turbines, why does this not happen with other DCS aircraft? And I have them all....

    Mig-21 Sound busted

Great, I'm glad you agree. Hopefully the devs will do something about it.
  18. Not a drama, but why change things wich were perfectly ok before?
  19. So why is it no so in ALL other DCS planes?
  20. YES, most probably you are the only who thinks it's okay... Do you find correct that he turbine sound INEXPLICABLY gets quieter with more throttle / speed?
  21. Hello btd, thank you for your reply. I have nothing against new sounds / closer to the real sound, as long as they are better... But a turbine sound wich INEXPLICABLY gets quieter with more throttle / speed??? You write that I can can always keep the sounds from the old versions... Well, would you be so kind to tell me how I d can do that? The sounds of the A-10C are scattered in many folders, /Mods /Sounds / etc....

    Mig-21 Sound busted

It is not the sampling, the external sound is far too quiet compared with the internal sound. With any sound setting....
  23. If only it would be so easy! The two files responsible for the annoying, far too loud, rumble noise are these: A10InHeAmbL.wav A10InHeAmbR.wav Found in \Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Engines. I just reduced the volume of these with a wave editor, so that's fixed. But the biggest problem is tat of the turbine sound wich INEXPLICABLY gets quieter with more throttle / speed. The sound of the A-10 has been good for literally YEARS now. ED why are you making it much worse now?
