General twin engine control panel any ideas?
TonyStovepipe replied to TonyStovepipe's topic in Home Cockpits
Started building the panel using old pc cd drive and PSU. You probably see the left side has a little gap but that be for a simple small gear lever. I am just waiting on some more switches to work out where I am putting them. -

Thank you very much that looks great and add few more buttons used on that control panel :) This what I have so far on my build I am just working out where to place things and how it will look. I am not great at making button boxes my last project for OMSI was a working usb ticket machine and basic bus controls. Thank you. -
Hello all. I am looking for help and ideas on what on a basic uninversal flight control button box I can use on games cliffs of dover and A10c. Just having buttons that would normally be on both planes like gear levers, bail out button, master arm, stuff like that. Anyone made a basic control panel or have any links, pictures to help me get a idea on a layout and what controls was used. I am probably asking for trouble trying to make it work for both games but I will give it a shot lol. Thank you for any help and advice.

Can I ask for help for resell price?
TonyStovepipe replied to TonyStovepipe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks and I am 99% no one has one used one on ebay uk right now. I will work the cost of fees I have to pay then put on ebay soon as I can. I have posted as a bundle set on some free sites but I think bundle sale would be harder before of the much higher cost. If nothing happens in a week I will split the 3 items. Thank you. -
Can I just say to the mods I am sorry if I posted this in the wrong place and if price checks are not allowed here then sorry again thank you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello all. Been thinking about selling my flight stuff for a while as with the kids and working I never get to use it :( But not sure what sort money I should resell for I don't see any on uk ebay site or any other used ones in the uk. Thrustmaster warthog hotas Thrustmaster mfd cougar pack saitek flight pedals All have the original boxes, receipt and nothing is over a year old. Thank you for any advice you can give me.

Thanks. This how it looks at the moment and it's not what I had in mind when starting out and not very happy with it yet. Looks very big now with the table over it all but I did not feel the frame was safe to hold both monitors and the top one would of been way to high to be any good. The chair base will change later when I done the main setup. I am getting some more tools tomorrow so I can clean up the cut out parts. Anyone have any ideas what I should add or do with what you see? Thank you for any advice.
-
Thank you ^^ Just testing stuff make sure it good for driving sim as well. Back to the cutting :)

Just a little update I am bolted the frame now to the base and mounted the stick as well. Going to try now to make some sort of unit to place the throttle on. Cheers

Thank you all for the nice comments. The metal part is a old/free portable massage chair I have been keeping for a while trying to find out what to use it for lol. http://img.diytrade.com/cdimg/229971/1156406/0/1228108485/MC002_Portable_Massage_Chair.jpg Small update I made the monitor more stable and is not leaning on the main metal body any more. What I doing now really is the main frame and seat bolted down so everything is safe and stable. Thank you.

Hello all this little project I have started today. This will show my lack of skill but I will be happy with a basic setup where I can play some a10c :) It's mostly stuff I got for free and I am just seeing what connects together really lol. That old table came in handy for a good base and I got the car seat for £1 off ebay. The monitor will be used for MFDs and helios. Thanks for looking.

Mfd cougar lights flickering?
TonyStovepipe replied to TonyStovepipe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It's a shame as the mfd only been used a few times and the buttons still work, but I would ask for a replacement as it's almost new. Having to take a hammer to it would be painful though I would feel like I am burning money :( Thanks. -
Hi all. I only had the thrustmaster mfd cougars for a few weeks and tonight one of them has started to have problems with the lights flickering. Here a video of what I mean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRukCxheZrw I have tried different usb port, restarted the pc and changed light settings. Not sure what else I could try? Anyone had this problem before ? Thanks for any advice.

What should I get (rudders and MFD)
TonyStovepipe replied to TonyStovepipe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank you :) Going to redo all the tutorials again and this should be a little easier with the hotas. I wish I could start building a proper cockpit setup let most you guys. But I would lack the skill and I fear my kids (all under 5) could break some expensive electronics if unattended lol :( -

Choices Versus Problems ?? HELP !!!!
TonyStovepipe replied to apollomaker's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I was going to buy the x52 hotas but I went for a used thrustmaster hotas instead only a few days ago and loving it so far :) Be warned you would need rudder pedals as well. I have the saitek pro flight rudders on order should get them tomorrow. After using the TM hotas I can say that it's worth the money. -

Thank you. I don't care about the looks only that it works good and the mfd do look great addon for the a10. I think I will keep my order of the normal pedals with pc world for £80 and order some MFD pack today as well. Thank you all for your advice. ------------------------------------------------------ Not sure of a good place in the uk to buy the MFD cougar pack from. The flight store is out of stock, amazon has a week 2 delivery. The only store I can see that have them in stock for £60 but not sure how good that store is. Anyone know of any other places to buy from in the uk? Thank you. -
