Doing a brief search...I couldnt find the list of cards supported. But here is the discussion forum for this driver... maybe this will help... http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?threadid=178765

The fps increase is an actual increase.... for me.... Now, i didnt sit down and write up an extensive chart comparing different drivers vs. fps, nor do i have a library of screenshots using various drivers...lol... but using CTRL+Backspace and quick fly my fps used to be around 55-60 when i entered the game. Now it stays more consistently in the 60's. Does it make a difference to me? Not a bit, since the human eye cant even see that change. But, what i have noticed is that i can fly through smoke on the A-10 quick fly mission without watching a slide show. The best thing i could suggest is... try em out. If you dont like it. Go back to your old driver. If you "dont buy it" and havent tried em... thats cool too... lol... im not selling anything.. ;) just passing along my experience with the new driver.... feel free to use it as you wish... :) edit: EscCtrl, not sure about the 5200fx. They do have a list of cards compatible with these drivers.... let me see if i can find it... I have noticed from the guru3d forums that some drivers are better for 6xxx cards while others tend to be better for 7xxx cards. Let me see if i can find the list for ya...

I picked mine up at http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1376. They showed some other fixes in there as well. Some specific tweaks for 7xxx cards with Oblivion and Purevideo, IIRC were noted in the forum. But i definitely see an improvement in LOFC for me over 84.20, which was the best last driver i was using.

Im showing about a 5-10 gain in FPS.. .depending how close to the gorund... flying over congested areas.. etc. But i did also notice a temp increase on the card. Not very signiicant imo... maybe 3-5deg C. I can spare the extra temp if i get a smoother game.. :pilotfly:

Excellent.. .thanks bud...

Best i have seen so far with LOFC. I have about a 5-10 fps increase and no more slide show flying through smoke after moving mud. Highly recommended if you havent tried them yet. I have the 6800GS so im not sure how well they work with the 7xxx cards. Enjoy...

Thanks Drone... that does help... I have noticed ground targets are easier to pick up visually rather than scanning with the TV using IR. TIR is also a big help to pick up the target visually. At first i was cruising along direct to the spike scanning side to side, up and down using the TV with K or D's only... needless to say.. doesnt work so well..lol Is there an ECM indicator in the A-10 cockpit? I cant seem to find it.... I've also been told the ECM pod on the A-10 only lasts about a minute for ECM protection before it shuts down on its own. Is this accurate? Thanks again...

How do you guys get close enough to these sam sites? I've tried to lock a Mav-D once they shoot. But im still too far away. The IR on the D doesnt even see the launcher. It picks up the smoke and Sam coming at me really well...lol... but i cant seem to get a lock on the launcher before i have to turn and evade the incoming sam. I've tried high and low altitude. Some of these sams (Buk and Tor?) just out-range the Mav-D. Any tips on how to get closer? Especially in open areas....

Why did you have to do that... i havent eaten dinner yet and cant for a while.. im freakin stavin...lol Corporations tend to be greedy so i can certainly understand they want their share. But i suppose the bean counters at ED have decided going with their current publisher is more profitable with less distribution than paying more for publishing at UBI with larger distribution and advertising. Then again, i have no idea what the books look like. It can be an ego thing for all i know...lol What i do know, after browsing some sites, is Starforce will prevent many people from buying their favorite game. So i suppose UBI has made a good decision in that regard. Only time will tell if it was the right decision. I remember reading something about another game developer that didnt use any protection but required a CD key for updates and so forth. It seems they had record sales IIRC. Make sense, since not everyone is a thief and will buy a game to support their developer. I have never personally had a problem with SF. But then again, i have only had it on my gaming pc for about a month, and i never use the burner portion of my DVD player. Although, all the complaints definitely concern me and the moment my PC hiccups that resemble some of the SF complaints, SF is coming off my machine. :icon_supe

Why is UBI no longer distributing LockOn? It would seem the developers of LockOn certainly would enjoy the marketing power of UBI....

Ironhand is the man.. TDW is the man....WildBill is the man.... Pilotasso is the man.... snomf is the man.... GG is the man.... Shep is the man.... as well as many others i fail to remember off the top of my head. :icon_jook Honest, anytime you need air support, it would be a pleasure to escort you. Im still learning the A-10. But i hold my own pretty well in the F-15. I can also use some help engaging SAM's with the Mav-D. So if we are ever alone on a server, i would certainly feel privledged to fly your wing while listening to your tips for defeating sams. :icon_supe

I had a 1999 36' Wellcraft Sport Cruiser... bought it off the showroom floor. See the profile for motocyclerob@yahoo.com to see me skiing behind it.... Good times... unfortunately, i had to sell it when my airline went out of business... i'll get another one someday... i hope... lol To see my bike.. do a google search for capttrob.... ;) Its a 2003 100th Anniversary Fatboy. Although i didnt buy it off the showroom floor, i did get it brand new. Man, what a rush! That Harley, especially after i tweaked it with a Mikuni HSR carb and Screamin eagle pipes with an Arlen Ness intake, it was almost more exciting than twin Pratt and Whitney turbofans going vertical. However, they are both equal as far as pvssy magnet... :icon_supe

Very nice Gideon! You have invested in hours upon hours of enjoyment imo. Its kinda like going out with that new girl. You're really not sure you made the right decision although you have already taken the leap of faith. So you ask friends for approval to see if you did make the right decision. However, once you "jump in" and feel the excitement...you know you made the right decision regardless of what anyone else says..... Kudos to you my friend.. .and enjoy! Never second guess.. you only live once....;) If you still have doubts which prohibit you from enjoying it, just keep in the back of your mind, you can always sell it to make a few bucks back. That type of thinking kept me sane when i purchased my first new boat and Harley... :icon_supe

That monkey does look familiar to me... and from what i remember... he certainly was a bad ass... however, i think the monkey in the above video wont even bother to engage the monkey in your post due to the fact its not even a challenge... ;) But if you want my personal opinion, i was always partial to this monkey... first book i learned to read as well... :) http://dt.prohosting.com/70s/nopc/cg-pipe.jpg

I dont care what anyone says... but that plane is so freakin ugly.... its pretty... kinda like my Dornier...

Look forward to it... :D

Im supposed to go out of town that weekend, but its 50/50 at this point. If im around, i'd love to join in... sounds like a blast...

Thanks Zoot.... Im not so much interested in modifying pylons at this point rather getting an AI skin on a flyable F-15 FM. Let me know how you make out... would love to know how to place an F/A-18 skin on the 15 with TIR. It would be fun... Thanks again... :icon_supe
-
Hi zoot, could you fill me in on how to do this in laymens terms? I'd really like to get an F/A-18 skin on the F-15 flight model where im able to look out over an 18 wing.. etc. Here are some sites i found on skinning... dont know i its what you're looking for... but here they are... http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/forums/articles.php?action=viewarticle&artid=23 http://562.50megs.com/LOMAC/Tutorial/LoSkins.htm

Exactly. If you are locking a bandit more than 20 miles out... its a given they are going to notch you. This also can be used to your advantage as tflash stated. Sometimes i like to lock different bandits of the "Music band" usually seen jamming their favortie tune in the distance, just to make them nervous and watch them "finger fvck" the ECM toggle....lol

One thing to keep in mind when using the F-15 radar is the difference between the TD cursor and elevation adjustments. When i first started flying the -15, i thought moving the TD cursor up would also expand the forward looking cone of the radar elevation since the numbers on the left side got wider. This is not the case. Basically, those numbers are telling you the dimensions of the cone for that speciic distance. So if you keep the TD cursor next to or "following the target", while in TWS, you will always have a reference of the dimensions of the cone (a measurement tool if you will) with reference to your target and adjust accordingly using elevation only.. In other words, as your target gets closer, and if you are moving up your TD cursor thinking you are expanding your elevation cone (a mistake i was making all the time when i first started up until a few days ago)... you're not. You need to move the elevation key command and keep your TD cursor next to the target tracking him (Thanks Pilotasso!). If you already knew all of this... disregard...lol Next thing to keep in mind. Many of the more experienced MiG drivers will start their notching at 20 miles or toggle their ECM  so you must anticipate their moves. From what i understand, the APG-63 in LOFC is undermodelled and easier to notch than the real thing. So if your bandit starts maneuvering at 20 miles and you lose radar contact, be patient, anticipate his move with respect to his last radar return you saw. If they were on the deck coming straight at you and no turn, he went into a rapid climb to climb out of your cone. Move your elevation up (i like to taunt some of the guys that try this, they will climb vertical from under 1 or 2000 feet, i lose him on radar, i move my elevation up a bit and they pop back up at FL250 like a minute later.. then i'll type "Nice climb" in the chat window ;) ). Do the opposite if he was high. If his last return showed him turning for the notch, turn the opposite direction and start descending at idle dropping a few flares to avoid an ET up yer a$$ ;). After a few seconds, turn back towards him at a lower altitude and scan with 40 mile range. I find that 40 mile range has the best scanning capability (once you have already been tracking him and lost the return) because you can adjust the cone so that the bottom of the cone is on the deck from about 2-4 miles in front of you till about 35 miles out if your at low-medium altitudes, while also giving liberal scan above (i'd have to double check those numbers to be more accurate). 80 mile range is best to use while scanning or the hunt. Gives you plenty of time. 40 mile range is good for tracking once you have acquired the target(s) and they have moved to within 40 miles. 20 mile range is good for scanning through the mountains when you are in the weeds. I almost never use 160 range. And i never use 10. Im still tweaking my tactics, but these are mostly what i use now. I stand corrected on the F-15 radar bugs thread i started. It may have a few bugs dropping targets here and there, but its usually due to your target taking advantage of the weak modelling done on the APG-63 in LOFC. If you are head to head with a less experienced bandit, you should be able to track him the whole way... And once you have tracked your target the whole way... try not to let him know your intentions until your ready to spank him... ;) good luck! edited for typos and clarity.

I use TWS mostly. Mainly because you get an altitude on the target and it enhances SA. In the mountains, i'll use RWS only for the fact that a rectangle is bright on the VDS and stands out. Although ghosting represents a problem with this as a circle can easily appear as a rectangle when manuevering. So, thats more added time to the pilot workload in the F-15 at close range to wait for the ghost images to dim. Sure would be nice to have the proper IFF alerts during lock. But i manage... ;) Cuban 8's, Split S, or Immelmans are a sure way to dodge any bullet. However, if you want the target to remained locked while being fired upon, smooth exaggerated barrel rolls combined with a modified high yo-yo and low yo-yo will usually net a kill 1v1. If going head to head 1v3 or more, take out the closest target and split S or immelman after launch and after the ARH has gone active. The odds are against you when 4-10 sticks are being thrown your way from multiple bandits...lol... so its best to turn tail and check your stats to see if you got a kill in that scenario. I still have a horrible habit of pushing the engagement when it doesnt "feel right". Even when going head to head against 4 bandits, i still press forward. I suppose i could turn tail and wait for some friendly's to join up on my wing and head back in... but what fun is that? lol I also have to get the timing down just right for anticipating merge with a missle. Its always just when i think the missle has gone astray and i let down my guard when i get spanked.
