There is but it looks low quality, definitely needs work

Haven’t booted DCS in a long time, was going to download 200GB of data! Deleted all other modules to cut it back

I can’t wait to see the cockpit in VR, epic for all the wrong reasons
-
Page has now updated with a purchase link! Unfortunately the ED link is currently not working.
-
I can’t wait I might be at risk of heat stroke with the sun beating down and my pc superheating the room whilst I sweat profusely in a VR headset but that won’t stop me!

It never saw use in D-Day. There were plans drawn up and training performed in order to use them against V-1 flying bomb sites bit politics got in the way https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Danny

I prefer to have a body myself, but the lack of one isn’t enough to discourage me from buying. Hopefully they will add one.

How much money have you given them? Nothing…. So you have nothing to moan about!

OMFG I didn’t even see that! I assumed we would be getting a skin only…. I believe that the Royal Navy version never carried the rockets or rocket studs! HMS Illustrious please!

The main issue isn’t the torque it isn’t the rudder or even the ailerons. The incident all stems from the elevator, as soon as the nose pulls up he was pretty much doomed. After the pitch up the pilot has no control, the only one that has any effect is when the elevator is pushed forward but by then it is too late. Watch the last video, slowed down it is pretty clear. Torque related accidents occur when the throttle is opened at low speed and it is the sudden increase coupled with the lack of authority from control surfaces which lead to an accident. That is not the case here.
-
Sorry what is your point? I am saying this has little to do with torque and entirely due to pilot error.
-
Pretty compelling.
-
Unfortunately with that high an angle of attack and low speed how much authority would the ailerons have? Virtually none. I get the impression that attributing it to torque roll is a mistake. It was a loss of control fundamentally, the question is what caused the nose up.

Those were fascinating episodes on WHW. Have you seen his Kermit Week Sabre videos? I highly recommend them. I had exactly the same reaction… I didn’t know him, never met him. I recently went through a similar health issue myself and was fortunate to pull through so the news hit me really hard. I was looking forward to listening to his progress for years to come. Like you said historic aviation scene needed people like him, young passionate and with a huge depth of knowledge.
-
Extremely sad news, I have been watching his progress with keen interest over the last few years. He was behind the recent return to the skies of the Hawker Tempest MkII and was working on the MkV. A great loss to the vintage aviation community. https://www.facebook.com/groups/118983335150/permalink/10170405269220151/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v

I don’t think it needs to be a day one feature but definitely should be implemented at some point. I can’t wait to see the cockpit, it is going to by far the most cluttered cockpit we have with the lack of any floor!
-
Well, I think at least three or four. But all part time. I cannot wait to see this cockpit in VR.
-
Ah didn’t get the chance to watch that one all the way to the end, thank you. That would explain why the ones I have seen previously look so different, crashes that I have seen attributed to torque were during waved off landings where the pilots go full throttle and rotate in.

High time I shared this channel with you chaps. Came across it a few months back, a wealth of videos of various aircraft being launched, landing and general life on board escort carriers during WW2. https://youtube.com/@vmtb143mike?si=x9vBDd3nu8MiDK3B

I have seen a few videos where a pilot has made a mistake on take off from a carrier and ended up in the drink, this one however is particularly bad. I am trying to understand what happened in this case, was it to do with incorrect trim, perhaps he increased power at the wrong moment or perhaps the catapult launch accentuated a mistake? This video shows other launches from the same day I believe. This is a great channel I have been meaning to share it previously, focus is on the lighter escort carrier ops, wealth of videos.
