Thanks Danilop! I've been shopping online the past few days for a good entry flight stick since I'm just using a game controller now. I've also been looking at the X52. A local computer store here has a T.Flight HOTAS X for about half price what I see if for on Amazon.com. I think I'm going home with this controller tonight!

Hi Subi, newb here too. I just installed DCS World for the first time and encountered the 00007 error. Broodjero's quote above did the trick. I installed on Win8 64-bit. I had to uninstall the 2 C++ packages from Add/Remove Programs. Even though I had DirectX 11 on my PC, I let the installer put DirectX 9 in and the C++ packages. I figured out that the installer is coded so that it has to use the DLL files of those versions of C++ and DirectX. If you don't allow it to do that, EPIC FAIL. Good Luck if you haven't got your install working yet!

Hi folks! New to the forum and DCS World. Used to play the heck out of F16 Combat Pilot (see avatar) on my Commodore Amiga 500 back in the early '90s. Loved that sim for it's campaigning. Fast forward to a few years ago. Bought Lock On Gold from Amazon.com and have been playing LOMAC off and on since. Was never able to register FC1 since the Gold package never had a serial number in it. Now I'm going through the motions of getting DCS World installed and following some of the ideas here on removing the newer MS C++ crap to get the install to work. Once I get a stable DCSW package, I'll purchase and download FC3. Happy Flying!
