  1. You would have to change both the in-game name and the Multiplayer name to non-periods. When you hit Multiplayer, go to Options and that's where you set it there.
  2. You probably have to take off to log time.... ;) For me, I've just logged all hours on the F15 and that's what I flew in game and on multiplayer and all my logged time in that aircraft is merged since this mod was added.
  3. It should be logging that... I guess we'll see if Ebs can respond to you. So far it's been working for me.
  4. I wonder if it's having problems with the period in the name, it shouldn't. And you have "138th.Taproot" as the in game callsign in the logbook AND the multiplayer name (under Options in the multiplayer menu)? I'm puzzled why it's not working.....
  5. I would check your quote symbol where you put your name. Sbould be ".
  6. Hey Ebs, Took an initial flight in multiplayer and everything updated fine to the logbook! Thanks! I'll an eye on it for a few days. +1 BTW.....
  7. Thanks for the files... I'll try it out for the next couple of days.
  8. Joined it for the first time myself tonight. Had a lot of fun hanging around you guys. Thanks!
  9. Awesome! Welcome Flagrum!
  10. Welcome Patroclus! I just joined recently myself and picked up a Hotas X just a week ago. Go to Options-->Controls and choose your plane from the first "Layer" drop-down. For basic aircraft control, choose "Axis Commands". Pitch, Roll, Rudder, and Thrust can be set there. You should see a column in the settings for Hotas X. When I first plugged that joystick in, the game set all of those basic controls for me. If the controls aren't already there for you and the fields are blank, you just double-click into the empty box for the control and choose. Once you have the basic Pitch, Roll, Rudder, and Thrust set up, all you need to do is go from Axis Commands to all commands and decide how you want to set up the rest of your buttons. If you scroll up and down the entire list of All Commands, you may see where the game set the defaults for your Hotas X. Any entries under that column are there by default. You can always re-program to your liking. Hope that helps you get started and good luck! :)
  11. I'm still wondering if it's the water rendering that's contributing to the performance hit. Try Options-->System/Graphics and set the Water to Low. Scan those same areas and see if that helps.

Losing politicians have to go someplace to de-stress. JOIN THE DEBATE NOW! Nothing ends an argument like a missile! Opinion for Debate: So the Reds are larger in numbers but do the Blues have better weapons?
  13. No problem.... Noobs helping noobs. That's what it's all about. :)
  14. On that DCS World download page you have to download all 4 of those files. For me, I just started the download before bedtime and let it go overnight. You want those downloaded and installed before FC3. Make sure you have DCS World working fine before you purchase and download FC3. The user interface is 100x better in DCS World from the original LOMAC. You'll never look at LOMAC again... ;)
  15. You could search the forums for that stick name... lot's of info. For me, once I loaded DCS World and FC3, I went into Options in the DCS menu and then controls. The game had automatically mapped most of my functions on the Hotas X. I just tweaked some of the buttons to my liking. Also, from reading here and trying to get a controller running before my flight stick, I've found that it's better not to install the controller/stick software. Just let the system figure out through USB.
  16. Hey Tony, I had a similar issue here. I'm on Win8 64 bit and have Lock On Gold. I could play the original LOMAC but could not run FC1. Problem is that when we bought Lock On Gold we didn't know FC1 needed a key. I uninstalled everything and started over. I downloaded DCS World (Free w/one jet), installed LOMAC again (required for FC3), and then purchased and downloaded FC3. It all runs great. I'm not sure if LOMAC is required for the other modules you can purchase like the P51,etc... You do get an A-10 plane with FC3. There's also an A-10 module you can buy. I like FC3 since it has all the modern fighter jets I like. You can read about the individual modules on the main website to find out which one(s) you might like.
  17. Another thing I discovered as a noob was that I wasn't holding the missile fire button down for a few seconds. I was fast-triggering. Holding button down fixed my issue, about 3-4 seconds.
  18. :megalol: Nice...
  19. If I wasn't so newb I would have known that the F15 doesn't use a parachute in this game..... :wallbash:
  20. Hey, you're in luck. I got mine set up for F15 over the weekend as I just bought that controller Friday. In the game go to Options-->Controls, choose A-10 for the layer and "Axis Commands" from the Category drop-down. For the Hotas X column under the Thrust line, choose JOY_Z. That should do it.
  21. Nice vid Viper... You listen to that while flying? Sounds like fun... The video reminded me I've been forgetting to deploy the parachute..... :( Since I'm new to DCS World/FC3, I've been practicing landings this weekend as well on the F15. As a test to your question about speed at which to deploy gear/flaps..... I was around 300 knots and would continually press the gear button while slowing down. The gear actuated right after I dropped below 250. I set up a landing mission on which I'm about 30 miles out to sea lined up for the runway at Batumi. Until I can stick landings on a regular basis, I'll use this. My next challenge will be to approach from the coastline north and south of Batumi like the Visual Procedures .PDF that comes with the game shows for that runway. It's been fun learning this!
  22. Damn, I feel like such a stupid newb..... I've been getting ticked off because sometimes the missiles haven't been firing for me. Had no idea I had to HOLD the button down. I've been fast clicking it like the cannon button. DOH! +1 for you RD.
  23. Peter, I just wanted to say thanks for providing the guide to configure monitors. I was able to set up my smaller, 2nd monitor with the left and right MFCDs! You rock!
  24. Hey Steve, I picked up that Hotas X. Works great! Since I learned from my game controller not to bother with installing drivers, I just plugged it in. I was able to keep most of the key mappings, only tweaking a few that were more appropriate for the flight stick. This flies a lot smoother than the game controller. I'm very happy with the purchase.
  25. All working good now and learning to fly the F15.
