  2. Sorry if this has been covered. But I searched and could not find how to post a mission. I tried to post a thread and add a mission as a add on but it said the file size was to large. How do I post my AV8 mission for the community to check out?. I might be blind and missed a simple button but I could not find it. Thanks for any help
  3. I would add do not get overwhelmed. There are alot of systems in the Hog but they can be learned in time. IE: you do not need to know how to use your TAD to fight but it will help big time once you learn it. I am still learning after yrs of flying this beast. for instance after learning the auto lase script I finally dived into the LSS. Wow it was easy and makes finding tgts stupid easy if they are lased. Also I found once some operations become second nature you can peal another layer off and learn more. Mark points confused me for ever but it was because I did not know how to use the TAD except for navigation and waypoints now I love mark points and use them all the time for tgts etc. On overloading and fuel I totally agree. The only time I would carry a unrealistic load out with 6 mavs etc. would be during "Through the inferno" SP or some other SP mission with tons of tgts. Or else you will be taking off, engaging a few passes and then its time to land and rearm. You spend more time on the tarmac getting rearmed/refueled than you do flying/fighting. And if you have a long flight to the engagement area it gets kinda boring fast. But in MP or Coop no need for the extra weight/Drag. Good luck and have fun
  4. YES. And give tools to modders or so they can be made to top notch standards. For those who fly for REALISM you should probably uninstall the game as Im sure you have crashed or died so as for realism you should no longer play the game. Or at least did not follow the correct procedure and crashed so the military would have pulled your wings. Or carried 6 Mavs and a TGP (unrealistic weapons loadout )etc. We still play for FUN its not a job like a real pilot and its still on a computer. Back to topic. Why not? keep the aircraft simulated but I have no problem with generic maps. I have seen some online community's that already pretend to be in different locations so its something I think the community as a whole would like. There was another sim where you could download quite a few maps and they were done quite well. So if the devs made a tool kit or released theirs for free or a small fee we could get some cool well done maps. I love flying in Vegas but as far as SUPER REAL. Well the strip is not totally correct it also changes alot yearly as buildings are raised and built. And non of my friends houses are on the MAP so no matter what we are flying in a unreal map/fictional. Dont get me wrong I LOVE NTTR but at the end of the day I fly and fight for FUN in the safety of my comfortable chair. CptnKnuckleHead
  5. you should be able to use the add modifier option on the button setup page in dcs world. use the drop down and select x52. Press the pinky button and save you should now have the pinky button to use as a modifier. If that is not detected. Use the Saitek software to make it a random button press your not using and make that the modifier IE a button you mapped to the hotas as you do not need the keyboard press any longer. Also make sure to turn off you "clutch switch" on the 52 so you can use that as a normal button. it some where in the set up might have to google it. The best way to use a X52 is to use the Saitek suite. you can use the mouse stick as the Slew control like the Warthawg controller. Makes slewing second nature. I also used the mouse button right there as the China Hat. China hat forward non shifted. And china hat aft SHIFTED You will use the china hat quite abit when slaving SOI to SPI during attacks etc. BUT I only use the saitek software to enable the mouse and I think there are a few other buttons that are not recognized. I do most of the button programing in DCS. It can be a pain to set up but once it is your done and having a properly set up hotas makes a world of difference

I used to use the X52 (NON PRO) same button layout. it is better if you run the Saitek hardware so you can configure the mini mouse stick as your slew control and a few other switches I then would finish my binding in DCSW. Also if you use the pinky switch on your stick for a modifier you can map the controls almost exactly like a A-10. IE: TMS/CMS on the stick hats and then shifted. DMS/Trim. OR what ever you find you use more. I have been using a warthog for some time so I do not remember the layout I had set up but it did work nice for a few yrs.

  8. Are the gun fighter bases sold out?. or are they still available to order?. It just said shipping in March on the website. Finally decided to pull the trigger on a new controller. Hope I have not totally missed the boat. Looking forward to the gimble control.
  9. Hello, I have a old X52 and computer so I set it up for friends. I just got FC3 for my second computer and wanted to try to get it set up. My issue is both of my SN's seem to be for my account. I tried to make a second account but could not enter the SN from my purchase email. So when one computer is online. It says instance already running. I have (2) copies of FC3. If it works I was going to get more. Any way to get them both running?? Thanks, Chris
  10. I found a fix for the Enter Key not working. When I checked in controls I found a second "Lock Target" collumn but it was greyed out. I could map it to my Thrustmaster MFD for some reason. I set it to OSB1 and when that part of the mission came up I used OSB1 to get my lock. That would let the training continue. My normal lock button still worked but It would not allow me to continue in the training mission. My new issue is weapons release not working on training. I have everything lined up. Laser on/ Laser off no difference, space bar on my keyboard or my trigger. I get no weapons release with Vikhr or CCIP bombing. I havent tried the other laser missle training. Hope at least the enter fix helps some people. Has anybody else had the " No release problem?"
  11. Hello, I have a strange problem. I was going through the new SU-25T training missions and I have an issue. I was doing the the Weapons deployment and my Skvil would not lock. The mission starts in active pause and has you uncage the camera and lock a tank on the abandoned runway. I have never had problems locking before. (During missions). Because of this issue the mission would not go to the next step and take the plane off active pause and let me engage the targets. I zoomed in, Moved me shkivl all around the target. Changed my gate size from way to small to way to big. Nothing would work. Has anybody else had troubles with the new training missions??. I have flown the SU for some time but I wanted to see officially how to do some things. Plus just check out the new stuff in the update. Drippy
  12. Hello, I was just trying to learn CA. I had a group of F-15E's loaded with bombs but for some reason when I marked a target for attack the cross hair was RED? and all the 15's would do is loiter at the IP I set them. I usually load out my AI planes with Mav's, Anti-Radar, or AA. and they all seem to work fine. But my planes seem to get stupid with bombs. Any ideas?. Thanks, Drippy
  13. You can program SST to use w as the brake. Its not independent but it frees up a button and lets you use toe brakes. Just program both brake peddles with the w key. I now use that for all planes including the ac-10c not as realistic but i can hot swap between all the planes and KA-50. The non independent toe brakes is not that big of a loss. just an idea
  14. Hello, I have been doing carrier take offs and landings with the SU-33. I have a few questions. Can I call the flight deck like a ATC?. I see no option. Also Can you reset the flight deck for a second take off? IE: get to position and have the afterburner blast shield raise again?. Every time I refire my engines to take off again I get yelled at for no clearance after rearm. I just take off anyway and it hasn't been a problem. But I would be nice to do it the right way.
  15. Thats what I was looking for. I set a trigger to activate my CAS plane when the last fast mover was gone. Then I was able to Jump into it and start my CAS mission. This lets me do multiple roles in one SP mission. Thanks alot, Drippy
  16. Ok. Its working they way it should (Why not have static planes as clients and when they get a pilot they become active? I dont play MP so was not sure how clients work in SP or MP. Also I did not know they were invisible planes until some one used them sorry) How do I do it then?. Or is it not possible?. That is my question. In CA I can swap between A plane and any tank etc. Is there a way to swap between planes is SP?.
  17. I have searched and cannot find this answer. I wanted to make a mission in sp where you have a F-15 on the runway. And a KA-50 or other CAS plane starting from the ramp. So you could knock out all the air threats. Then swap to your CAS role call the F-15 RTB and proceed to have fun with the ground targets from your other plane/helo. I have all the add ons. I tried to make a mission with two client planes and then select world commander as the roll but neither plane showed up. (is that because the were clients and waiting for real players?). Or when I select one plane the other does not show up on the F10 Menu. Any ideas or is this not possible. Thanks
  18. Great Vids. Now I know why I crashed so many missions when using Autopilot. Damn trim and It is nice to know the trim Reset does not work. I followed along with a bottle of wodka It really helped.
  19. Not sure if you have trackIR but zooming in really helps. During a gun run I zoom all the way in so I just see my HUD. That way the pipper is nice and big and you can see your targets really well. After I fire the GAU8 I zoom out as I break off my attack. Also if using labels I would suggest mapping a button to turn them off. On my X52 I use one of the toggles. The red or blue dots on the labels is not allways where the enemy is. My gun runs got SUPER accurate when I could actually see my target and knew my piper was right where I wanted. When your done with your strafing run your can turn back on the labels so you can find your next target. I have not seen this on many youtube vids. So I dont know if its common or not.
  20. Keyboard? Macros?. I have a HOTAS, Rudder Pedals, Cougar MFD's and a USB Keypad for a UFC. I NEVER touch the keyboard and I only click the cockpit on start up and Weapons arming. My systems are set up before I leave the ground after that my hands are on the HOTAS. You really shouldnt have to use a keyboard or click anything in the pit once you have started your engagement. Oh and for hardcore I would think that a clickable cockpit would be more immersive, clicking exactly where the switches would be in real life. Macros and quick keys are more of a RTS thing I believe.

    Online Help

    Hey, So I have around 30+ hrs. of flight time and have been wanting to get online and fly. Is there any general rules to follow? or do I just find a non locked server with a good ping and jump in?. I do not have TS right now my mic is on the fritz. Also are this missions similar to the campaign?. or does it just depend what the server is running?. Any good training servers?. Thanks, Drippy
  22. Yeah I have cleared the commands for all the aircraft. Thanks for the tip though. Im about to get home so I can Check out if any of the other tips I found work. the game sees the button pressed but not any of the shift states. IE: if a button is Alt+Home to start engine. The game only sees the home. So on Flaps it kinda works but only as F not Shift+F to raise Alt+F to lower (or what ever the proper commands are im not looking at them) If not its cool I am in love with a-10C and my controls work perfectly in that. I bought FC3 more to support the Devs. not really interested in the simpler sims. I saw a youtube vid on the SU-25T and I allways liked that mudmover back in the User made BF2 Mods. FIXED_for some reason when I programed my controller with simple commands it does not hold down the shift state for long enough. I do not know how to link to other posts. But the title is "Some one have this problem with X52pro" My issue needed the same fix. So now I just need to tweek some of the buttons. For some reason it is NOT an issue with A-10C that controller profile works fine.
  23. In the AXIS section you can change the Zoom to moving your head forward. It is the Z axis on TrackIR. I also have the head move forward set to my X52 thumb wheel. (Huge dead zone with a jump to full forward so it does not shudder). I think it really helps with Gun runs. Also I find it can help to pause/disable TrackIR when you are zoomed in so the zoom and picture stay constant. On my stick is a Pause for my TrackIR. Zoom in, Pause TrackIR. Find the tiny black dots line up and burst. As I break off of my attack run I unpause the TrackIR and look over my shoulder to see my carnage. Haven't seen anybody else do it that way on Youtube yet. It does help. You do lose situational awareness during your gun run but your probably concentrating on the target at that point

Also I am kinda glad its not only me (sorry guys). you seemed to link me to the controller section (not an individual post) and I found some similar problems so I will try that when i get home and fire up my office. I hope it works I have WAY to many hrs in setting up my SU-25T Profile. And with SST my A-10C profile works amazing. I'll follow up this eve or tomorrow. Tanks, Drippy
  25. Hello, I have been trolling for a while and can usually find all the info i need from all of your informaitonal posts. This is my issue. I load up A-10C in my controller software and it works great (SST). I then made a profile (SST Software for X52 Saitek) for the SU25T (I wanted to try it out) Non of my shift states work??. What I mean is. for start up or anything. If I press ALT-Home on the controller to start an engine the game just sees the Home being pressed. I DO not have this issue with my A-10C at all commands work I can start my engines, landing gear, Flaps Etc. So for some reason the game is blocking, Shift, ALT, Contorl etc. They all show up in my profile and when I check it with word or anything else I get the correct command prompts. So I am pretty sure that the controller is working fine. It works great in A-10C. I just wanted to move some mud with the SU-25T. Any ideas would be great. Also my FC3 F-15C is doing the same thing now?. Never had a problem when I first installed FC3 Sorry for the long winded post. Drippy
