Finally moving on from X35.. what to get?
Scudslaker replied to cjmonkey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
well to be honest, i think none of the offered HOTAS solutions is perfect for helicopter flying. I use an FCC2 moded HOTAS Cougar for FC2. I used to fly the X52Pro, too. But for BlackShark and FSX, I moded my older ch fighterstick, to place the housing on the ground and have the grip with a light 30 degrees deplace, above my knees. so i have much more control from center position and i think you can build some same solution with your old X35 aswell. most important is that the pcb is working fine. the collectiv i use is a DIY- replic of the Bo- 105 helo. you can see some pics in my album, i try to upload more pics of the ch fighterstick mod mechanical aspects this evening... but back to your question, i haven t checked x65 yet nor G940, some of my pilot comrades told that g940 is good.. but i think there is really no good solution for Helo pilots on the market yet, which has good price and quality.. cheers Scud -
X52pro - need PCB board from stick
Scudslaker replied to Renato71's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
@DummyBoy, do you have a document on the magnet mod of x52pro? i m a bit curious as i haven t heard of it before!) -
i think FC2.0 is much more realistic in this point. it s hard to spot the enemy visually allthough he is close to you. yesterday i had problems to spot a tanker. he was up in the sun and the scratches from my cockpit have hidden him, too i hope there is no tweak possibilite. cause, for me it makes more sense to deal with real constitutions and earning some more skills by avoiding detection by enemy forces..

Scudslaker replied to Jocman's topic in Home Cockpits
wow that is some real bad news. maybe someone don t want you to work on this!) ask your Girlfriend or wife!) i try to prevent this real bad situation by synchronizing my projects USB stick with data from Laptop and Dektop computer @ home. anyway, you have to wait for your new adapter. maybe they can deliever it some earlier then 15 days. i think 2-3 days should be possible actually!) best wishes for you Scud -

great pcb quality, looking good. i hope it s damn working like hell.. just had some experiments with industrial joystick solutions years ago,..but as told i m collecting all the good inspirations and needed materials and i really hope that we receive the key for the new flat in 2-3 days!) one question on your actual project!) i had a look for those magnetic brakes you ve shown on the last page,..do you have a part number or something like this..i d like to optimize my collective replic with that solution. have luck in your night workshop!) Jocman's Cockpit (will be a long, long work....)
Scudslaker replied to Jocman's topic in Home Cockpits
hehe, that is no real fun..but anyway, as you told, meanwhile you have all the needs to start the building, maybee you have a friend with a soldering station,..ask him if he ll share it to you!) sometimes it is better to have some latencies, cause you can find some new inspirations on the whole process.. grüße nach Südtirol Scud -
for me it seems that the software of your LCD, features dynamic adjusting of brightness in dependance of the picture content, to lower panel depending "cloud effects" that can alternately be seen straight in corners of bigger lcd panels when dark pictures are shown(mostly DVD user or gamer see this effect with grey zones in the corners while dark/black pictures are shown). how many inches do you have, as i know, this effect appears from the format!) you can have a check to the lcd menu to find out, if you can turn this dynamic control manually to off cheers Scud

yes, Fleet Defender was from Micropose,..great f14 sim with pilot cockpit view and WSO view and functionality. big sim for me, efore i get Falcon3.0 as well it was a nice step forward to have refueling planes inside a sim,..i spend a lot of time with those sims..but do you pilots remember the hexagon kartel? i think it was build by astragon a german game publisher in 1995 or so. i loved the flying experience, first "rendered" bullet falling to the ground when firing the cannon..and there had been plenty of helicopter modells inside you had to fly in the missions..but best of all was the training moe of the game. flying the huey with external loads through courses and with real feeling..as i remember. i really miss to get transporters flyable in LOMAC!) on both fixed and rotary wings..whould be awsome to get cover in multiplayer while doing your job cheers and a sunny easter weekend to you pilots
