  1. Nice work, but is it possible to sell the seat separately at a lower cost? I'm looking to make my own and having a reference design would be nice. Also, have you considered setting up an eCommerce file download site instead of manually processing payments and sending plan files?
  2. Why can't they implement the 2D NS430 as a VR overlay? This has been done so many times before. I wonder if there is a work around to show the NS 430 in an external window, then get a 3rd party program to display it as a VR overlay in game. Ive seen it done with twitch chat, etc.
  3. Your code checks if a specific unit is in the zone which makes part of the DO SCRIPT redundant since the units name is already known for that single unit. I want to know who entered the zone, not if a specific unit entered it. It's very common in programming for events to return context when they are activated. Why is it so hard in DCS? EDIT: A part of me thinks I may have to replicate the Triggers-Conditions-Actions framework all in lua where: REPETITIVE ACTION is a loop with a sleep that checks: PART OF COALITION IN ZONE that is a table(list/array) of all coalition units that gets iterated through and checks their position against a specific zones area using it's position and radius. When that is active, the easy part is call: DO SCRIPT is literally just the script I want called. Because I checked each unit's position, I know which one(s) is/are in the zone giving me the reference I needed. I don't know if this is how it's done under the hood in lua or maybe a faster low level langauge, but it's a pretty roundabout way of doing it to get a unit's name. Unless there is a hidden local variable that holds the unit name(s) I'll have to do everything myself. I came to this conclusion after looking through the DCS Lua API and what it can do. I think it's all starting to sink in.
  4. How do you reference the unit that activates a trigger by entering it's zone? I have the trigger activating but I want to get the units reference so I can do actions on it. How would I get that info from inside actions DO SCRIPT or DO SCRIPT FILE? Would like to know how without using MIST or MOOSE. Feel free to include solutions with those frameworks, but that won't answer my primary question. Thanks
  5. Spam and neglect Sad to see there isn't much interest in the official wiki right now. There are many spammers on there right now. Doing what I can to mark them as such. I hope to get some support from moderators. I dont know who is in charge but anti-spam measures need to be implemented. The wiki is running the most recent version (1.30.0) of MediaWiki so I cant see a reason why we can't enable ReCaptcha for account creation, probation period submissions and occasional checks. I messaged Wags and NineLine for further details as to who runs the wiki. I hope to hear from them soon.
  6. You didnt mention if you used narrow fov via china hat forward short, mav as soi. That might help lock range. As mentioned try the d as it is infrared. the h is better with large stationary targets, like buildings.
  7. Don't play DCS for 20 hours? Saying that it happened once when playing 20 hours doesn't show consistency. You would have to try it multiple times with helicopters to come to any real conclusions. Also, you said it happened with the Huey. To say it only happens with helicopters while only trying one is a bold statement. You would have to try all planes and all helicopters for endurance plays to come to a real conclusion.
  8. This is very unfortunate. It would have been great if permissions were given to trusted people. I have been helping with the Arma wiki, and would have loved helping out here too. :( sad.
  9. Thank you, people need to realise this sim is not meant to be balanced like mainstream games like battlefield and cod. It's meant to be true to life, there are going to be situations you cannot escape because the aircraft is not designed to be there in the first place.
  10. If you really want to get the "snowball" rolling, eject the canopy and imagine you're cruising in a convertible as you peacefully fall asleep. On a serious note, doesn't it take a few minutes to inhale all the residual oxygen in the cockpit?
  11. I never said it didnt work, I said it doesnt line up correctly with both vikhr pylons.
  12. there is a reason why the black shark has turn to target, because its meant to be used at some point. i asked the question because the vikhr missles are very anal on their centre. i never said i refuse to use rudders and that the aircraft should fly itself. the reason why i am saying stationary is for training and using terrain masking for pop up attacks.
  13. Yaw "funktion" Thank you for giving me the least constructive answer in this whole thread. I have fired off of both sides thank you, this was in regards to turn to target. I would think since black shark pilots seem to dislike the fact that black shark is becoming less popular that they would be more than willing to help new pilots. I guess I cant speak for everyone, but people like you are just ruining it for everybody. As for everyone else, thank you for your answers, they seem like a good compromise to my problem.
  14. that's a shame, any tips on stationary employment of vikhrs since turn to target doesn't work as I expected?
  15. Hello, Iv'e been having a problem. Whenever i use Vikhr missiles with turn to target the helicopter doesn't align with the target for the second shot. Since the Vikhr aiming reticule is different for the left side and the right side it seems like there is a problem. Is there a solution to this or is it a bug? Thanks.
  16. As ENO said, its a waypoint not a target point. waypoints are meant to instruct you where to fly to. Waypoints were designed to have an altitude value for a reason. This is a sim, learn the plane before you start thinking the game is broken.
  17. Yes, I've known for a long time you cant pause a live multi-player in typical scenarios, but you actually can pause/ quick save them(example: arma 2/3). Your opinion that single player scenarios are not interesting is, well your opinion. Real A-10 pilots don't need to leave the stick because they've prepared for the mission in terms of food, and don't need to leave for work because... they're already at work. I don't even know you're comparing it to BF4. i never mentioned the need for quick multi-player matches, the game already make that possible for mission creators. I don't know why you keep saying the game shouldn't add pause, when it already has it. i can already leave the stick for 15 minutes under SIM difficulty, im just saying that quick save is no less realistic than pause, fast forward, slow mo, f10 map for sp. what matters is that for the time you are flying the aircraft is when its realistic. If you're looking for realism, next time you crash or damage your plane, tell yourself not to play again for a few days to simulate death, capture, injury, investigation, or any other reason that takes more than 1 minute to get behind the controls of a readily armed and fueled a-10.
  18. Hey, i think a quick save would be good for this game. it allows people who dont have much time to even attempt long campaigns. if a game can be paused it can be quick saved. or even if it had checkpoints in the form of landing at a friendly airstrip.
  19. Hey, i noticed in the flight manual it says there is a steering cross in NAV mode, but in game there is not, only for ILSN. how am i supposed to know my altitudes? also how am i supposed to know my desginated time on target?
  20. Answered: Sorry, Game requires restart before music volume takes effect.
  21. was refering to the entire post, not just the question.
  22. Ok, Well thats different, Op is using the CBU-87, not a GBU. you said his alttitude was 8000+ feet, then said he needs to be atleast 5000, although i dont know if either was meant as AGL or MSL. You also kind of worded the end oddly. You might be right about height for GBU-10/12 but ccrp works the same for LGB and GPB, it tells you when the ballistic path of the bomb intersects with the target. No matter what the laser is alway visible to the seeker towards the bottom of its ballistic path. the higher you are the better chance the bomb has to correct its path. I actually did some testing awhile ago with the GBU-12/10 using ccip and i was able to glide the bomb down a shallow slope to get greater range from it.
  23. Hey so I've been flying with Rag Tag and they are a pretty fun group, even for moderate beginners. They know their stuff but are also pretty casual, its a good mix for me. I would still recommend doing the basic training provided by DCS before even touching multi-player anyway. I've had a few screw ups flying with them and they just laugh, its all in good fun. http://rtac.weebly.com/
  24. Sorry, but the amount of contradictions in that statement are too damn high.
  25. Ok, so I know what the solution is, i just need a means of creating it. I'm not so familiar with the scripting syntax in target but based on my findings the solution is possible. Standby. Hopefully i could use a lua script directly with DCS instead of target. I just need someone with experience to help me.
