  1. he said you need jtac and waypoint input, 2 things the su-25 and a-10a cannot do
  2. i wonder what the next aircraft will be that fits the a-10s role, if it is a role worth keeping past the lifetime of the a-10, or if long loiter times will be necessary anymore from manned fixed wing aircraft so if it doesn't get replaced and is still relevant i could see it getting this rocket eventually. it already fires the same size rocket and is laser equipped. oh and seeing how its already been acheived and seems like they are pushing it towards the f-16 f-18 AND a-10 why not, i mean maybe not the modeled suite, but if ED decides to update it or revisit it in another dcs release like A-10C2
  3. its also a new technology so you cant say it never will
  4. Hi all I was wondering if A-10s or any aircraft can carry 3 GBU-38s on a single pylon in the same or similar way an A-10C can carry 3 MK82s, 3 MK-82 AIRs or 3 GBU-12s on a Triple Ejector Rack. To me it just seems odd that its not in DCS when you can already do it with 3 other MK-82 variants. Is this just a sim thing or also IRL, if so any other aircraft?
  5. yes like how when youve suffered battle damage you should have made a flawless emergency landing, dont tell me youve never taken a sam hit before, and a damaged plane is better than a lost plane.
  6. ya same here, couldnt find anything on gimbal limitations in the manual. but anyway to avoid the tgp from loosing its mark, dont make tgp the SPI use either markpoints or the cursor on the hud as spi, then slave the tgp to SPI. whenever you encounter gimball roll after that just boresight TGP then salve again to SPI and about point track bouncing between tanks, you dont really need point track unless its a moving target
  7. alright thanks everybody for the feedback, all your information cleared it up and now it makes sense why this happens. i guess ill just have to take it easy around the airport but on another note though, since the repair is unrealistic how it picks you up, they should also have aircraft recovery when you are within the airport zone and not dead, like a tow back to the ramp and repair.
  8. has anyone else had experience with the landing gear being a little too weak and causing too much resistance on the grass? i came off the runway at less than 10 knots and the front wheel came off several times. also i have many times slid off the taxi way and couldn't get back on even with all wheels intact at full engine power, forcing me to restart. A-10 mostly, have had it with ka-50 breaking too
  9. ok, no offense but if you want a good chance at help post a track, pretty standard for this forum. and that clock wise motion is normal if you understand the tgp movement constraints. think of it like a steering wheel, it can rotate 360 degrees but only about 450 degrees left, 450 degrees right. where as the tgp has more left and right but same idea on limitation and the target pod can look strait down and 90 degrees forward and 90 degrees rear from straight down. so if you want it to look 100 degrees forward from straight down it reaches 90 foward, rotates 180(upside down) and then looks up another 10 degrees. the faster you move the aircraft the more noticeable this effect is here is a tip, do a mission to replicate your problem, then when your watching the replay focuse out the window at the tgp and watch how it moves. post a track as always i will make you a video myself on the limitations of the TGP sometime soon, tired right now.
  10. don't dive in on the target so soon, you can also slew the hud marker to the target after setting hud soi, that marker wont move off target. the tgp diamond represents where the tgp is looking, not where it wants to look. this is not a bug, its just how the a-10 tgp works, so you have to work around it as the real a-10 pilots. i wish the a-10 could sustain speed in a 90 degree vertical climb, but it cant in real life ive explained how it works. it is what it is i have had no problems using the tgp in this manner
  11. 1st, look for other posts related, which was just yesteterday 2nd, play track back, look at the tgp movement, this game is a sim, it simulates how the TGP functions in real life. The TGP's main function is to look down, not straight ahead, once you have visual you dont need a TGP also the symbol does not mask the gun sight, it auto hides it
  12. I would say any ingame cockpit zoom level, since the human eye can see in very good detail and has good peripheral vision, the unrealistic part is only having only 1080p or 1600, and the screen taking up a small field of view, multi-monitor and track ir bring you closer to realism, but still lag way behind reality.
  13. ------------------------------------- EDIT Ok i added a track, and i replicated as close as i could to your description First i demonstrate dsms setup on the ramp after startup (i start up my own way). Then i succesfully bomb an area with proper profile, 2 at 200 feet. and last i demonstrate gimbal roll area of tgp. -------------------------------------- does the tgp say "gimbal roll"? or something like that? try as much as you can to keep the target away from the gun line to prevent gimball roll. your target should be lower assuming you have the correct gun sight up. what cbu? 87, 97, 103, 105? are you in CCRP? CCIP? how long are you holding down the pickle button? are you setting an SPI correctly? sorry i read your post again, some of those questions might be e relevant but feel free to answer anyway other than the tgp one and bomb type. and yes, that track will be very helpful. startup sequence might be key, try to replicate. gbu forum demo 123.trk
  14. YES! this keeps happening to me with any AFAC (airborne jtac) they ALWAYS mark about 50-100 feet to the side. I tested with UAV and A-10C (TGP) AI AFAC units and they also track moving targets but off 50-100 feet, sure its still useful for finding target area. Its useless for buddy lasing unless you're out to scare.
  15. hey are you still gonna test this? i'm sorry but at first you were disappointed with the low turn out, now i still here nothing on this.
  16. total velocity vector its the little plane shaped thing on your hud that hops around, it says where your plane is actually headed as apposed to where its pointed
  17. DAMN!, nice analysis! I think we should start an "official" Benchmark thread if there isnt already. That way we can get a good idea of what hardware runs this the best, or at what price of hardware is satisfactory.
  18. ah gotchya, i saw those in editor before, so in real life you can edit them in cockpit? but not yet in dcs? i guess between 24mkpts and 50wpts ill have enough, but the more the better...
  19. i cant get past 50!!! how do you get 72-2048!?!?!?!
  20. Ok so ive read in the manual that the cdu can have 2050 waypoints, 51-71, 2049 being taken already as soon as i try to copy waypoint to 51 it says ?-1o instead of ?51o or ?72o so how do i skip 51-71 and mark wp 72?
  21. AH! I was wondering why you would need to enter those seven wind speeds in cdu, makes sense now
  22. i don't see a problem with any kind of player, as long as they are in the right place. Ya sure if you want to join a server with like minded individuals who enjoy dying after a 5 minute startup so be it. Hell, i even like to mess around once in awhile, but mostly in SP. i think like any game, you have better luck in private servers, or joining a group of people you know.
  23. agree, will do, but doesn't the camera go automatic for you, the same that i used when i recorded the track?
  24. Alright, i added the track on my main post, after all engines have started up i get around 7-10fps when most of the aircraft are in view
