  1. But that's the thing. I didn't know either about the sales timing. I just knew that there where going to be one eventually. So because I didn't have a choice (financially) I waited patiently for the next sale. It just so happened that it came earlier than expected (even though Wags said that there would be one soon). Those that gave their limited money judged that they are able to spend them for a product they liked. Even by their tight budget, they made a judgement that they could afforded it. They made the choice not to wait for the next sale. So it shouldn't matter when the next sale should take place. I looked at my financial situation and made a decision to wait. But I am afraid (and I hope I am wrong) the damage is done. By the response of ED/Belsimtek to this subject I fear that they will limit the number of sales through the year. Maybe even lower the percentage of price drop. If this happens many people like me will stay with what modules we have right now. And when the time comes for the modules we have to get a paid upgrade (like Black Shark 2 was) we will go away. Not because of anger but because of simply not being able to buy any new modules. All this commotion may have hurt other member very badly. :(
  2. Is there any way to assign axis for the brakes for those that have rudder pedals? I have only found the W key which is an On-Off switch for the brakes.
  3. I have been reading silently these threads (first was about the Huey sale and now for Mi-8 ) and I kinda understand both sides. I understand those that bought these modules at full price and then shortly after saw a sale for them. I too have been in situations like these for other product and services that had some kind of price drop right after I bought them. I know the feeling that goes through someones head when this happens. “Why haven't they told me that they're gonna have a price drop for their product before I bought it?”. It surely feels like a rip-off. But is it really? Did anyone from ED or Belsimtek promised anyone that if you buy their modules first that they will keep the price the same or even that they will raise them later and punish those that don't rush and buy their products from day one? They just made a business decision. Good or bad, well, that dependents from which side someone is looking at it. Those that where first buyers also consider them selves supporters and automatically feel that they are in title to better treatment. But in the page from which they bought those modules did they read anywhere that Belsimtek runs a limited offer and asks for early supporters to which they promise xyz for their support. It was/is just an open Beta. The company that makes the modules decided to give anyone who is interested an early access to the final product. Nothing more. They are not supporters. They are just regular customers. For me supporters are those people that give their hard money, for example, to crowd funding projects. They knowingly pay, in many cases, more money for something that they know will eventually cost a lot less. But they do it because they believe that the project they are funding deserves their support. How can someone, who has only payed regular price for a project and then complains to Belsimtek for finding another way to bring more people to support their product (and actually working against the very same product he/she claims to support), call him/her self a supporter? But they are seeing the subject only from their perspective. ED and Belsimtek are selling their products internationally. It maybe hard to see at first but 50$ in countries like USA have a lot different value in these countries than in some other countries in the world. Don't these people deserve the chance to be able to purchase the same things other people in more fortunate countries can afford? I am one of those that have to be very careful on how they spend their budget. I couldn't have bought the modules I have bought in regular price. Do you know how it feels to see your favorite modules been flown by other and you not to be able to get them? I just waited patiently for the next sale where I would be able to afford them. Why can't you be happy that other people less fortunate than you can fly alongside with you? I am very worried that all this complaining might hurt those of us that can only buy at lowered prices than the regulars. I am really worried that even if the sales don't disappear they will be delayed for months (due to all this complaining) making us also wait for months before we can afford them. And if we miss a sale, we will have to wait twice that much. I understand the frustration some members have about the timing of the sales but please consider how this behavior could affect others. Thanks for taking the time to read my two cents.
  4. Thank you const for your offering but I don't want to bother you. It's not an immediate need. I just wanted to know where to find this information because there is a chance to install my modules on another computer I use and I don't want to find my self in any surprises. I want to keep an eye to important stuff like this. I really think star-force should give these info to the customers. And maybe you could add it to the FAQ.
  5. Thanks EtherealN. Nice to know about that page. But in the link you gave me it shows only activations. No deactivations info in there.
  6. How can someone check how many activations and deactivations are left for a module but without losing one?
  7. Unfortunately, for me, Alt-Tab is not only a hassle but also source for major problems (like FPS drop). And, although your suggestion about increasing teamspeak volume looks like a nice workaround, I would like to avoid that. You see, I really like to keep my hearing. It would be great if the devs give us keyboard shortcuts to control the volume sliders that are in the option menu from inside the game. But I am surprised that with so many people using teamspeak noone suggested it already.
  8. Thanks for your answers guys. But I maybe was not clear. I know about the individual systems volume controls and I know about the overall windows volume. But that does not help me. Lets say that you forgot to lower the worlds volume and started a mission. If you want to use for e.x. teamspeak the worlds volume will be too loud for you to hear the sound of other programs running (like teamspeak). And if you lower the main windows volume you also lower teamspeak. I would like to lower the ingame volume of the world without lowering windows volume.
  9. Is there a shortcut key that can adjust the volume in-game? I know that it can be set in the options before starting a mission, but sometimes I need to alter the volume while in a mission. If there isn't, I think that it would be nice to add it.
  10. I only bought Huey for it's flight model (don't care much for using it in combat within DCS). And I was very disappointed with what I saw. But with 1.2.6 it seems they've improved it quite a bit. I still think they need to tweak it but even in the current state I am actually glad I bought it. Hopefully they will get it right by the time it goes out of beta. Maybe they should ask more real life Huey pilots what they think.
  11. So they did change it? But why? It make no sense. Autostart is supposed to prepare the aircraft/helicopter for combat environment. Counter messures are essencial for survival. And why have autostart open the cap for the switch if manual is now the default way? I still think it's a bug.
  12. I played a couple of missions in multiplayer after updating to 1.2.6 and I noticed that the UV-26 Countermeasures Control Panel stays off in autostart. Autostart opens the protective cap for the switch but leaves the switch in the off position. Is this a bug or a choice (or is it happening only to me)?
  13. It's not ED I don't trust. It's Steam: And just because I am not able to hack (since I am not a programer) doesn't mean that others can't. And by the way, all my concerns were raised from the original announcement where it wasn't clear what was actually shared. This is what I wrote a few posts back regarding c0ff's reply: All I want is just an official word that no personal info was shared.
  14. Since she IS your wife, she must know you very well. Come on now, share with us. What have you done wrong?:D
  15. And how exactly could we know what it was shared from this short announcement? "Dear all, Today we were informed that all DCS activation keys purchased through Eagle Dynamics, with the exception of the Black Shark 2 Upgrade, have been merged to Steam. Matt" This announcement talks about "...activation keys purchased through Eagle Dynamics...". How can we know that these "activation keys" don't come attached with personal info like who is the owner etc. All we ask is to know what was shared. Why are we treated like we did something wrong?
  16. As far as my personal information goes, YES. Anyone should ask for my permission before giving someone else the ability to charge my credit card. I am not a "Steam hater". I just don't like their service. It's my personal choice to not use their product. On the other hand I don't want to impose my choice of not using Steam or any other service or product to those that want to use them. So why someone who likes to use Steam want to impose their choice on to others? Well, if personal information (especially the ones regarding credit card info) was shared with Steam then, no. It's not all right. If you want to share all your personal billing info with the whole world then that is your right. Just don't try to take away my right to protect my personal information and wallet.
  17. So,what you are saying is that we must bend over and let anyone do whatever they want with us and our information just because someone else is also doing it? Security through obscurity? When we bought our games we used sensitive information, for example our credit card billing info. With all that is happening in the digital world don't you think that our concern is legit. We have seen how big companies "protect" their customers information (and by "protect" I mean that many of them don't even go through the trouble to encrypt their databases). And after all it's my data. Shouldn't I have a say about what is shared with whom? Again a little vague. With the info shared with Steam, can Steam or anyone else, connect the dots and find which serial is connected with what name and credit card number? If no then I guess it's fine.
  18. I am really concerned too. And I would like to know what information ED shared with someone else without asking me. I don't like Steam. I consciously avoid them because (among other reasons) big sites like this attract many hackers (or better termed crackers). The announcement Wags made is a little vague. Some more detailed information would be nice.
  19. The missing images seems to be fixed with the latest patch (even though I didn't go trough all of them) but some texts are still in another language (like SH-3H helicopter for example).
  20. A landing that every Huey pilot owes to be able to make. I saw the screenshots from other members landing on top of the control tower and I thought "Meh, how hard could it be?". Well, it's really damn hard. First try... skids got caught to the ladder (real death trap by the way), dynamic rollover occurred and Huey ended up belly up. But, as they say, practice makes perfect, so here is the result of my efforts.
  21. In the latest update 1.2.5 (with the latest hotfix) I've noticed these (see photos) in some entries of encyclopedia. Some objects are missing the photo of the corresponding aircraft or vehicle, some have the photo but the text is in another language (I think it's french) and some have both problems (missing photo and text in wrong language). I didn't go through all the encyclopedia so I don't know if these are the only ones or there are others with the same bug.
  22. I've moved huey's folders in Saved Games temporarily and put the back one by one. When I've put back the "UH-1H_easy" folder the Flight Control Options where gone. Maybe there is something wrong in the lua files in "UH-1H_easy" folder.
  23. Ooops. Looks like I was the one that didn't understand . But at least we concluded that there is an actual problem. It mostly happens, for me, in multiplayer. Maybe that's a clue.
  24. Hi Erforce, You didn't understand. I don't damage the wheel when I land. I actually do very smooth landings. The wheel is damaged during the automated repair. At some point the helicopter is lifted mid air, gets repaired and gets back on the ground. At that point the front wheel tire is getting damaged. It's not something the player does.
