  1. So I bent up a piece of 3/4 conduit last night. I didn't measure and just guessed before I left work. The pipe will not fit inside the copper reducers used in some of the gardena setups people are making. It was also a little to tall for my current desk setup. I don't really want to spend money on any materials i don't have to right now. Back to the drawing board for me. I just want my 3d printer to show up!!!
  2. None of this stuff is mine. These are other peoples creations. I am just showing people examples to get their creative juices flowing.
  3. Step inside. I will be building one myself. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=105081
  4. I have the BU0836X. I have not messed with the axis yet but the switch side works great. I have heard nothing but good things about this board. I picked up my hall sensors from ebay. Allegro A1302 hall effect sesnors. They aslo have them on the Leobodnar site http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=82&products_id=195
  5. Excellent pit. I am going to try to make all of my stuff modular as well. I enjoy playing A-10 as well as flying choppers.
  6. Here is an example of someone using the hall effect sensors. http://www.jpfiles.com/hardware/uni_stick.pdf
  7. Have you looked into hall effect sensors? I went that route because I wouldn't have to worry so much about gears and connecting the potentiometers to them. They will wire right up to the leo bodnar board. I have not tried mine yet but from what I gather they are fairly easy to work with after you figure them out. Also no mechanical parts to wear out. That is a nice stick handle!
  8. Gentlemen. Let our minds become one in our quests to fly the huey. I have started a thread for us to combine our ideas for building helicopter flying devices. Come join me. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=105081
  9. I am going to start working on my first Helicopter controls tonight. I want to start a thread for us heli pilots to come together to post our creations and findings. I will start off with a few examples of products on the market and home built masterpieces I have come across. My plans at this point are to start working with what I have. I purchased some hall effect sensors, some magnets and a leo bodnar BU0836X. I plan to make my own collective, cyclic and rudder pedals from scratch. For now I have a TH warthog, X52, Saitek combat pedals. I am going to first extend my Warthog using the gardena method. I have a 3d printer on the way so the creative juiced are flowing!!!! 10. Got it. Waiting to get home to play it.
  11. Go home try it out. Go to eat. Come home work on warthog extension. Profit!!!!!
  12. Great answers guys. This is what I expected I just needed to hear it from someone else. I need to pt some serious though into this. I planned on building a 4'x8' CNC as I would also use it for custom cabinets and woodworking projects. The thing is, as you mentioned that might not be accurate enough for this sort of thing. Maybe I will build a smaller one to build skills and see how it goes. Ill tinker with my 3D printer for a while and see how that goes.
  13. Thanks. This is the honest kind of answer I was looking for. I was just hoping to at least help with the costs of the tool. I am not looking for profit. I can not afford to go out and buy one just to have. I am willing to put in the time as I would be making most of the things for myself anyways.
  14. I have a 3d printer on the way to make some pit parts for myself. I would also like to purchase a CNC and build my own acrylic panels and other items with it. Thing is, they are expensive. I wanted to ask the community if it would be worth my time and money to invest in one of these machines and make extra panels for other pit builders? Would people buy them? I am sure someone has though of this kind of thing before. What do you guys think? Also I would like to know if there is a central area where people with 3d printers and CNC could share there files and such.
  15. Is your threaded area 3d printed or are you threading after? I have a 3d printer on the way so I can start making my custom pit parts!
  16. Ok. Just wondering if you fastened it somehow. Thanks.
  17. Tell me more about how you fastened the acer monitor running helios. This screen setup is exactly how I am starting my pit. Great work.
  18. Time to start building my warthog heli cyclic extension....
