  1. LZ's are marked from the ground and up to the pilot to decide if it's safe or not. The crew chief has no say in the choosing of an LZ. Troops will mark their position with smoke and the pilot decides where to put the ship.
  2. Yeah dude, I also noticed there weren't the right number of rivets on the panels on the side doors. I mean. Ridiculous. I guess I'll have to go buy me a real Huey.....
  3. Do some of you think this helicopter should be as maneuverable as an attack helo? This is a heavy helicopter. It isn't that agile. Granted most of my time is in Schweizer 300s and bell 206's... I'd rather have it realistic than making it stupid easy for people that aren't willing to put the time in to learn how to fly it.

    How are they changing it?
  5. I understand triggers pretty well, it's the flags I don't get.

I know that from flying a jet ranger that if you have the doors off the speed limit is 80kts. If you go above 80 kts it shakes. A lot. This is probably normal for max speed in a helicopter.
  7. NDB navigation is still prevalent in Europe and surrounding areas. They still exist in the US as well
  8. Tanks vs hydras...... tanks win. The Huey is for soft targets/infantry. It isn't an anti-tank platform.
  9. Stop paying so much attention to the instruments and get your eyes out the window. It will help.
  10. Guys, this isn't a fixed wing aircraft. Helicopters are inherently unstable. You have to make them fly. The don't want to fly naturally like fixed wing aircraft. That's why the say the rotors are there to beat the air into submission. This is how a helicopter flies. They are hands on all the time. You cannot just sit back and let it fly, you have to constantly make it do what you want it to.
  11. I need a good squadron to join! One that's active. Any ideas?
  12. There is nothing like it out there. I have some stick time in helicopters and the feel of this is spot on. Helicopter controls are sensitive. The amount of pedal input feels right, the shudder as you're going thru ETL speed is right. Running landings and takeoffs feel right. Everything feels right. EVEN WHEN PUTTIG THE TAIL ROTOR INTO THE WIND feels right. You start to lose tail rotor effectiveness. Vortex ring state feels right. It all feels amazing and very accurate!!!!!! Amazing job ED and Belsimtek! I cannot wait for an American attack helicopter. I hope the Cobra will be next!!
  13. Downloaded. Finally. I am in love with this module.
  14. Oh. My. God. I just checked the forum..... I'm at work. I can't do anything from here. I'm crying..........
  15. I mean, if ED told us all to send $50 for regular updates..... I don't think many would. They give out info for free because they produce an excellent product.
  16. I don't know if was a scam or not. I just know that wanting people to pay you so they can get updates is ridiculous. They did announce something on their FB page about not continuing development, but that could have changed.
  17. Fighter Ops.... Lol. I remember that. I told people on their Facebook page a long time ago that paying to receive updates through "Area 51" access was stupid. Of course they publicly flamed me on their page.... Then a year later.... "Sorry, dudes, not happening."
  18. I've been playing the Wargame: Airland Battle beta... amazing.
  19. I hope you're right! Then I'll be torn between the two..... torn like an old sweater!
  20. Well now that Wargame: Airland Battle has been put out on Steam with Beta access... looks like I'll have something to keep me entertained until I see the Huey up for sale!
  21. It'll be here when it gets here. We will all be ecstatic when it's here but I'll give it three or four days and everyone will be griping again. That's how it goes in the flight sim community. If there is a missing rivet, someone will cry. Some of the people in various FSX forums are worse. You'd think they had a stake in the aircraft or something. Whining and crying won't make then push it out the door. We just have to wait and see and take it in stride. Things come up and delays happen. It's part of life. When the person comes along that can foresee all possible problems and give the solutions before they happen will be a very rich man; but until then, we have to wait. I don't really mind.... it'll be like Christmas morning when you load up the site and unexpectedly see "buy now" under the Huey. Until then enjoy your families, mow the lawn, go fishing, clean the house or take a vacation to take your mind off of it. I'm fairly certain the world won't end before we're flying our virtual Huey's; and if it does, it doesn't really matter then, does it?
  22. Where is X-Plane available as a digital download? I can't find it anywhere.
