  1. Well, that's the thing... Like I said earlier, in real life the Huey is REALLY easy to fly. REALLY easy.
  2. I've got 12 hours on the Huey. It's very easy to fly in real life, very intuitive, as opposed to flying in DCS. I don't know if this is because of the lack of good controls, peripheral view and the seat of the pants feeling, or if it's because of the flight model. Other than that, I think the flight model is very very good. Sometimes though, I think the Huey is TOO susceptible to settling with power.
  3. Likely this is possible irl as well.
  4. Ofcourse!!! I've flown three different western choppers, including the Huey. It's a GREAT helicopter to fly. Very easy, very intuitive, and a GREAT sound. It's my favourite helicopter ingame and irl.
  5. I've had this happen to me irl with a Huey. It was because of the wind. Don't know what your temp and altitude was where you were flying, but it's unrealistic to have no winds in mountains.
  6. The KA-50 needs two pilots as well. The design is a failure in real life... The pilot workload is way too high for a single pilot, and when you do some aggressive maneuvring, the rotor blades can hit eachother...
  7. Running out of left rudder is caused by adverse winds. Try to land into the wind.
  8. You start leveling off very high though, I'd start trading in airspeed for a lower rate of descent at around 100 feet and land with a forward airspeed of about 25-30 knots.
  9. Yesterday I was using my X52 stick. Today I use my G27 pedals. It's not ideal cuz they're car pedals, but it's a lot better than twisting the stick.
  10. Keep practicing :-) I was able to land it at 9000ft on a pinnacle after about one hour of flying. Without pedals.
  11. I got 12 hours on the Huey irl. It's a really easy helicopter to fly. But it's not on the PC. The flight model is very realistic, but what you lack ia the proper controls, the peripheral vision and the seat of the pants feeling. It's still freaking great to play with it in DCS!
  12. Adjusting/tuning your flight controls is absolutely not neccesary. What you DO need is yaw pedals. I use my G27 racing pedal set als my yaw pedals. Works pretty good.
  13. In reality the force trim switch holds the stick in its current position when you release the force trim button. Since I guess almost no one has a force feedback stick, this is pretty hard to use with your joystick.
  14. Great example Huggybear! The Huey is just very sexy!
  15. The Huey is so amazing because it's the Huey.
  16. The Huey in DCS is harder to fly than it is in real life. But I think this is because the lack of real controls, peripheral view and the seat of the pants feeling. I don't think anything needs to change in the flight model, because it is REALLY good as it is now.
