  1. So as we know, DCS isn't exactly the most performance optimized game and the DCS unfortunately doesn't really take use of the whole CPU, frequently tanking framerates in certain situations. So I'm wondering, since I know that it's always been in the road map that there's going to be further performance optimizations, but when can we actually expect one? Thanks. (As I am posting this, I am a DCS 1.5.x player, I do not have 2.0/NTTR, is the performance of NTTR better than 1.5.x? Thanks)
  2. Hmm yep. Problem here isn't that I don't have a powerful CPU... It's actually pretty good. The reason why so much GHz is needed is because DCS does not utilize more than 2 threads, so it depends on the speed of those two threads as much as possible to calculate the game. I really hope we'll get some better performance soon. I think this should be one of the priorities among many other things.
  3. Hmm interesting, i'll look into that. I never really paid attention to the RAM because I always saw that it barely used more than 7.5GB at the most...
  4. So evidently, DCS is not quite well optimised and seems to only use about 1 to 2 threads at a time at the most. This obviously causes serious performance tanking, sometimes dropping frams all the way down to 10 to 20 when I have a TGP, MAV running and staring at an intense battlefield. Is there any way that I can get better performance? Sometimes missions are simply unplayable because of this. Regularly, if I'm up higher and not looking at the ground war, I'd get anywhere from 70fps to the maximum ~150fps. My system specs are in my signature. Thanks :)
  5. Hi everyone, I'm not sure if I'm doing something horribly wrong or it's a bug but on the second mission of the Georgian Hammer campaign of the A-10C, every radio command that I use will not yield a response. I have "Easy communication" turned on and "radio assist" turned on so it changes the channel automatically, but even then, I still tried to change the channels manually and still it doesn't work and doesn't give me any response. I can hear my wingman calling things out over the radio, but I can't make him do anything (RTB or Attack Air Defenses...etc.) I can't even call up the JTAC. How can I fix this? What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

    F-15E?

DAYUMM SON, WHERE'D YOU FIND THAT??
  7. Ahh okay. Since I don't have Combined Arms, do I play the mission that does not have CA?
  8. I know this is probably a very stupid question, but what does the CA stand for in this campaign? How does this differ from the non CA one? Thanks.
  9. Ahh okay, thanks for clarifying. In the case that I only have LIMITED number of usage, how long can i hold the brakes each time?
  10. Ahh okay. In my case, I only have a button for the brake. Does that mean that it will always lock when I am using the Ebrake? If I had a rudder toe brake, I can modulate the pressure and prevent it from locking right?
  11. Hi everyone, I'd like to know how to use the emergency brakes on the A-10C? I come in for a landing with hydraulics all shot up and I decide to go straight for the emergency brakes and not bother to try the normal brakes as I don't think they'd work. However, after pulling the emergency brake lever, literally nothing happens. The anti-lock brake switch automatically turns off, which I know should happen, but otherwise, the plane does not slow down. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
  12. Yes, i had the same feeling when i first started using the 15. back in FC2. I felt that the American implementation was very intuitive and required so much work compared to the russian counterpart. But after getting used to it, i found that it was so much better because of the amount of information provided, and provided with clarity.
  13. Ahh okay, interesting. I thought keeping the weight on the right side would be a decent idea, especially at lower speeds haha, that's awesome! I remember doing that with the f15 back in 1.2 when the hydraulics allowed to be working even if one wing was torn off.
  14. Thank you! Thought of jettisoning the stuff never came across my mind - i was slightly busy haha! Although i think that would have upset the balance even more and cause the whole plane to tip in the side of the broken wing. The flanker has more than enough power to keep it flying unlike slower aircraft so i'm not worried about the extra weight in total. i was flying and testing the plane, I flew really fast and made a left turn at 85 degree bank angle and even with the G limiter ON, it pulled just enough Gs to break off the left wing. And yes, I was also surprised that the wheels didn't get destroyed when using the breaks for more than like 1 second on the runway will cause it to burst. When i touched down, i was desperately trying to open the parachute, but i guess it doesn't work on the grass. You can see the canopy of the parachute opened from the external view, but no parachute dragging out of it.
  15. Ahh, okay thanks.
  16. Thats definitely what i'm hoping for. Actually for a while before the hydraulics update (do not know when that exact update was) the hydraulics system on the 15 functioned quite well, it was very rugged like it should be in real life. But after that update, you lose part of a wing, you lose ALL hydraulics. you get some sort of hydraulic damage from gunfire, missile, you lose ALL.
  17. Hahaha, that's the least of my worries!
  18. gonna just leave this here: [ame] [/ame] was toying around and ripped only one wing off. i managed to crash land. i think ED needs to focus on their landing gear modeling here :D
  19. As seen in the video, the skin will glitch and show another skin when it's zoomed to a certain point on the external view. In this mission, it was the training mission for how to start up the aircraft and after i did start it, I took off and after looking around in the external view, i discovered this problem. Not sure if it's just me or reported before. Sorry if it was indeed reported before. Please don't kill me. [ame] [/ame]
  20. Yes, I have tested this and on some occasions, this is in fact the case... if you are going really fast and go full aft stick and pull that 10.5gs there about, it will probably last for a few moments if not shearing off one wing completely. This was actually quite old and is very well know. The thing i don't understand about ED's implementation of the hydraulics damage model currently is that in this f15, the whole wing is gone and yet the other side of the hydraulics remained functional like it should and it saved the pilot's life. However, in DCS< you get hydraulic damage and that's it. You'll last a few seconds in the air before all of the hydraulics from both systems bleed out and you find yourself plummeting to the ground.
  21. ahh okay i see. it also disables and pitch assistance at certain speeds correct? once you enable ASC, the elevators deflect down quite a bit compared to when the g limiter is still on. everything also becomes super sensitive. Is this also equivalent to disabling CAS channels on the F-15? I believe that the 15 does not allow you full deflection at all envelopes.
  22. I don't fly the flanker that often, so out of curiosity, what's the G limiter disable and what does it do? Is it the same thing as the direct control? Thanks
  23. From what i've seen being discussed on the Su-27 section of the forum, this structural integrity is realistic for the most part. It does say in the flight manual about max Gs being 8g so yeah. Yesterday when I got the update, I tested the whole thing and my conclusion was that it can pull up to 9.8g there about and then anything above 10 is very very risky (10.4) and anything after about 10.4 is definitely break-up.
  24. Will the livestream be posted on Youtube?

    F-15E?

Tucano. It's on the Razbam section of the forums :)
