I saw the newsletter and saw no mention of updates to the Alpha version...when can we expect any patches or fixes to 2.0?
-
they are currently in development per earlier posts. They will come later...my guess would be as it gets into the Beta versions.

mi-8 VERY jerky/jumpy on takeoff in 2.0
nigelmcelwee replied to nigelmcelwee's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
"transition shaking" in latest update, as in normal flight the vibration appears just before speed indicator starts actually working. In the track mission Nigel posted, there's a 7m/s wind though - might be just enough to trigger this new effect. That is an interesting observation. Perhaps the wind blowing into the pitot tubes is enough to trigger this effect. I will test this out when I get home! ***EDIT*** So I tested with no wind and sure enough, the shaking disappeared. It does appear that the strong wind is triggering the helicopter to shake as if it was in the translation effect. -
NTTR info and mission by the 476

wow this is incredible! I guess my question is, I hear the ATC system is going to revamped...will it allow for SIDS/STARS and multiple frequency changes? That would be really awesome if it did! Part of the challenge I love is flying the correct departures, VFR transitions, and STARS. As a private pilot and a long time x-plane with pilotedge user, that is the one thing I missed in DCS was true to life ATC communications. Like clearance, ground, tower, departure, approach....Man it would be cool to fly the TAC routes for VFR transitions over the KLAS airspace just like IRL. I saw that each corridor east and west have frequencies to talk on as well so if the new ATC system has this implemented, you guys would be awesome! -
VAICOM 2.0 for VoiceAttack

Yeah ,I hear there is a whole new ATC system in the works so it might offer up some drastic changes to VAICOM! Looking forward to seeing this new ATC system. -
VAICOM 2.0 for VoiceAttack
nigelmcelwee replied to Hollywood_315's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
will this be updated with the new Nevada airfields too? I got it working in 2.0 but instead of saying nellis, I just say ATC. Also, 2.0 some of the commands are going through (double beep) but the AI dont comply. Like "flight...wedge" I hear the double beep but my flight doesnt say confirm or roger. But if I use the keyboard shortcuts, they do. -
mi-8 VERY jerky/jumpy on takeoff in 2.0

Yes the heli does castor around a bit...meaning the wheels get turned and I have to do one give the heli a little back and forth to get the wheels centered. But the jumpiness is still there. I noticed though if I add collective a little more aggressively the shaking doesnt happen. Only when I raise it very slowly as the heli starts to break ground. -
Damage modeling in DCS various planes.
nigelmcelwee replied to Fri13's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I notice this in the A10 as well. It seems like everytime this thing takes a bullet I lose my CDU/CICU/etc...really quickly. Now the plane will take a beating for sure but it seems like even 1 bullet and its lights out on the HUD, MFDs, engines, or whatever. Still flyable for a bit but it does seem very frail compared to my military days and what I remember my friends who worked on the A-10 used to tell me about how much damage it could withstand and still be functional. -
mi-8 VERY jerky/jumpy on takeoff in 2.0
nigelmcelwee replied to nigelmcelwee's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
yes , thats what I was thinking. The ground does tend to hold the aircraft and not let it go which causes it to jump wildly. If I give it a lot of collective the chopper jumps right off the ground with no jerkiness. Its only when I slowly increase the collective. Maybe im increasing too slowly and the heli is goign up and down and catching the ground like Dev said. -

Naa the pots are fine...the A10 and Huey dont have the issue at all. To the post about clipping the post. On this track, perhaps I did clip it!! maybe ive always been clipping it as thats the area where I tend to takeoff from. I never really noticed this before. I suppose its just too tight for that bird there and its always clipping my blades?? I never noticed this before because I dont feel the clip at all when inside the cockpit. That would explain why my chinooks dont takeoff from that spot after activation either. Their blades must be clipping too and the AI just sits there. Hmmm....ok time to move all my chopers!! -

nigelmcelwee replied to nigelmcelwee's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
yes, it does same with no payload as well. Just jumps around like that. Like I said, my axis's are all clear except the ones assigned and the I haven't done anything with my curves. I don't know whats causing such a huge vibration like that. -

Ok, here is the track. Pay no attention to my horrible first takeoff attempt. Its the second one when I start to apply collective and stick back and right the heli jumps around. mi8.trk -
mi-8 VERY jerky/jumpy on takeoff in 2.0
nigelmcelwee replied to nigelmcelwee's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
sure thing, I will get one posted tonight! thanks guys for helping out! I am slowly falling in love with this bird as the challenge and learning curve is definitely up my alley. It is a joy to fly and very very touchy! Landing it is so tricky. I cant imagine doing it in real life. I would have a panic attack trying to get this bird on the ground if my life depended on it and I am a private pilot!! -

nigelmcelwee replied to nigelmcelwee's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
yeah mine definitely isnt that smooth. I installed the english cockpit MOD in the MI-8 I wonder if there is something in that mod that is conflicting with 2.0?? It seems as soon as the wheels get light on the ground the cockpit seems to shake pretty violently on my end. -

nigelmcelwee replied to nigelmcelwee's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I thought about that and I dont see any duplicate axis's. I cleared out all the control axis's except the ones I needed. I tested it some more last night and it might be the vibration effect on the heli that I am noticing. I had never seen it before so it seemed jerky to me but I dont have a lot of experience with the this chopper so the combination of that and my lack of flying experience may be accounting for what I am seeing! -

I see it when going into a hover from sitting still. Its not vibration, I see the vibration effect. Its different from that. the screen literally jumps up and down very erratic. I will have to post a track when I get home. No curvature set on the axis either. Just default curve. -
ahhh thanks, glad it has been reported. Makes it hard to navigate without the VOR/VORTAC.

I tuned to klas vortac on the vhf radio 116.90 and turned radio on. Switched compass to VOR and it doesnt capture.

the very fact that you admitted you run Vista...LOL Im teasing!

Ahhh yes I found a video on youtube that explained it. Thanks for the reply! I was having such a hard time with it!
