  1. I concur. On another thread I posted same thing. Stutters post-patch. Pre-patch, everything smooth as silk running 60 FPS at high settings no issue. Post-patch, not a slideshow...just intermittent stutters and framerate fluctuations dropping up and down for a split second which causes the stutters.
  2. Its not my system. Its not the settings in the game. Its the patch itself. My system and hardware didnt change from patch to patch and my settings I ensured were exactly the same as pre-patch. The patch caused the stutters and frame drops especially with trackir on. Pre-patch I was getting a steady 60 FPS with no stutters whatsoever.
  3. Just to add...not running sli or crossfire. Before patch I was locked at 60 fps high settings no matter what I threw at the Sim. After the patch though turning the plane and/or turning my head with trackir on causes wild fluctuations in fps which causes a large stutter present.
  4. Yes I can confirm with trackIR on when turning or looking around my FPS jumps wildly from 45 to 60 to 30 to 50 to 60 all over the place. Massive stutter.
  5. Just a quick question, since I am at work. Does this happen only when fog is "enabled" on the mission? I create a number of missions for myself but I also leave the fog enabled option unchecked. Since I am at work I cant test this but I was curious if someone could check that and see if the fog option is unchecked does it still happen? It could be a quick work around for our custom missions until ED can get it fixed.
  6. its on a different menu now.
  7. its been reported. not sure what happened but they all stand out like a sore thumb now. So do all mission objects as well.
  8. I have a Titan X and I have most settings cranked up. I turn shadows and DOF off though just to save frames but I never drop below 60 fps locked at vsync in any condition ive thrown at it. that being said, when I do a CTRL+PAUSE and check my texture load on the GFX, it can get as high as 6GB in some situations so if you max that out, you will see frame drops but since I have 6GB to spare on my card, I never see any drop.
  9. I own a pair of blackshark headphones and they are great. a little pricy but they feel and look just like dave clarks. Here is a link to them: http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-audio/razer-blackshark
  10. I find if you right click in them and select "clear" the black boxes go away. It might be a bug or it might be by design that these are showing up?? I would think a bug but its not a big deal since there are no stores on that square to begin with.
  11. whats odd is none of these "new" issues people are having with the new 1.5.1 I am not seeing but my install went smooth. No interrupts, no retries...I am wondering if the download interruptions and things like that are causing corrupt pieces to the install?? The game feels a lot smoother now and there are some nice small changes I have noticed that make it look more streamlined and just feels better. the f10 map looks ok on my end as well.
  12. same issue here. Although I use trackir, I went to test a setting out real quick and didn't plug in my trackir and when I panned around the cockpit with the mouse it was very very jerky. Like OP said, only about 5 fps is what it felt like even though my fps counter was locked at 60.
  13. yeah definitely seems to be the VRAM usage is what is causing the FPS drops. Although I do run everything maxed out so I expect VRAM usage to be pretty high.
  14. I can tell you guys the VRAM usage is intensive. I make some pretty generic missions and with my Titan X and 12 GB of VRAM I have seen it go as high as 5790 GB usage. So if you go over your max video ram, the FPS is going to drop while the scenery gets cached around. I dont see these fps drops but probably because I have such high VRAM.
  15. those screenshots are drool worthy. The desert looks absolutely amazing. Those crop circles, farm equipment, cactus's, etc...just simply amazing scenery.
  16. guys. I have to say this looks amazing. I like the desert too. It isnt overly complicated with lots of cities and objects which makes the game run smoother and the sand and dunes look AMAZING. Reminds me a lot of this great youtube video of the A-10 in Arizona and looking forward to flying it just like this guy is!!! https://youtu.be/YZON5gqGHsA
  17. hmmm you might try making a few braces on the shaft of the piping or go with 3 inch piping. the 2 inch is pretty stable but 3 or 4 inches even would stiffen it up. The price goes up considerably and I don't think they make a 4 inch shower drain assembly so you would have to go with something else in the PVC aisle to mount it all too.
  18. Actually I have large 2 inch rubber feet on the pedals so they grip the carpet and don't move an inch. The stick is a bit wobbly so I decided to trim the board up on top and chop the pvc down 4 inches and add a coupling halfway up. It reinforces it and makes it a lot more stable. with the 2 inch piping it doesn't wobble hard at all. If you want to, you could go to 3 inch tubing but it will be a bit more expensive. so far ive enjoyed several flights with it. I have considered taking the base plate off and just mounting it that way but this was an easier solution.
  19. thanks! Well the measurements are pretty different based on the type of chair you are sitting in but I will give you the parts list and height dimensions 6x 2x24 2 inch pvc pipes 1 2" 90 degree elbow 3x 2" end caps 3x 2" high pressure T fittings 2x 2 inch shower drains (you must remove the base plate and drain and you can mount to the wood) 2 bags 1/4" number 20 1" long screws (when you drill holes in wood you can tighten the screws into the wood to countersink them) 1 can PVC welding cement 2x 10x12" common wood pieces (use common wood not oak or anything hard or you wont be able to easily counter sink screws) the throttle sits 18 1/2" high so it can fit under my desk and my arm doesn't hit desk when advancing throttle forward. the stick base sits 22 inches high to give clearance for my legs underneath. you will have to get the pieces around your chair and do measurements to figure out how to cut. I used a mitre box and mitre saw to do the cutting and it cuts like butter through pvc pipe. Please note the 3 inch long extension on the top left was not part of the original build. I made my cut too short and my throttle was hitting my chair. The fittings counter sink about 1 and 1/2 inches so you have to take that into account when fitting them together!!!
  20. just thought id post my newest build for my HOTAS Warthog system. Only costs around 90 bucks to build and about 3 hours of time to measure and cut. Its still rough. Needs painting and some nice patchwork on the wood.
  21. Is this in cockpit view only or in outside view? Does this happen when you switch cameras and then go back to cockpit view? Maybe you could just turn off external views for now and just stay in cockpit until they can figure out whats causing this?
  22. thanks, maybe we could merge the posts? Its so bizarre. As soon as they are airborne its all good.
  23. I noticed last night that when the aircraft or helis are starting I get severe frame drops. Once they are started and flying they go back to normal. As you can see my system is very good and I always stay locked at 60fps (my refresh rate) I even tested sitting at an airfield with 20 static aircraft and 20 Abrams tanks all doing circles around in front of my a-10 with all systems running and I never dip below 60 fps. But if I put two helis in front of me and nothing else when they start up my frames dip to 40-42 and they once they are flying they go back up to 60. I dont know why the startup would cause a frame dip?? Just an observation. I dont know if its a bug or just the game itself.
  24. This is great as a former member of the USAF and a private pilot (VFR rating only) I was told two different things. The military pilots told me the way that Yeager says to do it. My flight instructor calls me nuts but I like using the stick to control speed and throttle to control descent rate. That way you arent fighting the aircraft with oscillations all the way down. If youre way too high your gut says push the stick down but that will increase your speed dramatically and you will have to adjust the throttle as well. Instead, hold the current AOA...and reduce throttle. After a few seconds the ROD will start to go up significantly and your airspeed wont gain. As you start to hit that sweet spot gently ease the throttle back up while maintaining your AOA at all times and you will be on a sweet glideslope!!! On the flipside like the above poster said...you are coming in hot. Pull back on the stick. You are going to increase your AOA and vertical velocity. You might actually start gaining altitude. However as your airspeed decreases, the amount of lift decreases as well and your plane will start to descend again. Once you hit the sweet spot use the throttle to control your descent rate while holding your AOA with the stick.
  25. thanks for working so hard on these issues ED! Your promptness is GREATLY appreciated!!
