  3. Hi guys, I'm glad you find my "fire" mod usefull ! I had good hope with MOOSE Scripts but Sven told he had problems with the CLEAN function for DEAD objects on the map. I am also pretty sure you need the original Max file to create a specific collision model. I don't really know actually how they work. @ Blooze : Right, you have to set a trigger on Miz startup to blow the "transparent fire object" so it can burns.

Pira, another tweak you can do, ---> ...\DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\C-101\Shapes replace the EDM file of the C-101 at LOD_0 ( C-101EB.EDM ) by C-101EBL03.EDM (LOD3) (!! make backup before) --> see if you get improvement LOD_2 & LOD_1 are still WIP (same level of detail as the LOD_0) Same tweak for the earlier release of the MIG-21 with severe FPS hit. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2181088&postcount=127
  7. Hi Pira, As far as I can tell, C-101 & Hawk are Not really FPS friendly. 3D models are heavy. Do NOT activate lights (int & ext). Keep in mind they are in Beta stage, both teams have to work on optimization.

  10. Many thanks for your help !! Actually, my "mod" is a fake "unit", it is actually labelled as a "structure" but it can be easily changed to a fake "mechanised unit". I will look to gory_valley.miz and see if I can manage with it ! Thanks again ! :thumbup:
  11. Hi all, svenvandevelde, pretty awesome tools !!! If it is possible, I would like some help. I've created a small mod which enable huge smokes and fire (Forest Fire > Fire Fighter with Huey or Mi-8) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=138241 As you might understand it burns only when the "object" is destroyed. The idea is to disable the object via trigger (sling load etc) Unfortunetaly it is not possible to disable a unit when it's destroyed with the stock DCS ME. As I am not a talented lua coder, I guess that your script could bring a solution to my issue. May be with CLEANUP function ? If you could provide a tip or little help, this will be much appreciate ;) Thanks !
  12. Hi guys, @ Silvuca : thanks for this link ! But MOOSE can't manage (apparently) to "erase" a destroyed unit which is not placed on a runway. May be I'm wrong, I'm not a talented LUA coder. @ Stonehouse : for sure ! DOWNLOAD as attachement Install the folder named "forestfire" in DCS World\Mods\tech\ You can find the object in the "Structures" Tab in the ME. No FPS cost on my pretty fast PC, I guess that if you place 30 fires, there might be a more or less FPS hit (since EDGE is not released) forestfire.zip fire.miz
  13. That could be easily done without triggers ;) Does someone knows HOW TO disactivate (make disapear) via trigger a DESTROYED group or unit ? It seems to work only for non-destroyed units ! Thanks for your help !
  14. Thanks Agg ;) I guess the answer would be YES, it is one of the major goals of this "mod", I didn't had time last night to investigate more, I will look deeper during the WE, the mod will be of course release ;)
  15. Hi Upuaut, the transparent object (100% alpha map) is to simulate a fake destroyed vehicule, fire and smoke are edited via the .lua paramters of this objects ;)

This was exactly the original idea :D Many thanks guys for you help with triggers, I've managed last night to create a custom mod (100% transparent object with .lua script > no replacement of core files, just a "tech" mod) which enable huge fire and smokes. Fires burn during 27,78 Hours O_o via lua parameters until we cut them off via trigger. No FPS cost on my rig. I have to double check this tonight (at work at that moment) Here are some screens :

  22. Completly agree with the TARGET tip, set LED to 100% or 0% (try both), no more "shakes" with zoom view (been using this tip since I flew on DCS) :
