Hansangb, where you quote me as being redundant, that's actually Remi's post. Chichlidfan responded to him, correcting him about "torque and lever length" where torque is a product of lever length" I was responding to Remi, and I interpreted his comment to saying that stiction is related to torque, in that it is caused by a lack of torque. Tho I'll acknowledge that maybe I misinterpreted the statement. So my response was to elaborate on what stiction is & the actual causes behind it. You are right tho, I do agree w Chichlidfan that the leverage is what increases the torque. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Negative. Leverage increase your forces which reduces the effects of stiction. Stiction is caused by improperly fitted mechanical pieces, the material those surfaces are made from and lack of properly lubrication. If the tolerances are too tight, you increase the friction. I always wondered if I was just unbelievably picky, or if my stick actually had the stiction problem, where others didn't. I have pulled mine apart & nearly severed one of the wires - but thankfully I noticed the resistance in the gimbal & pulled it back apart before doing permanent damage. I was able to pop out one cross pin but the other was just bound in too tight & I didn't want to accidentally pull a wire fighting it. So I cleaned the original grease up the best I could, greased the whole sucker in molykote & reassembled. It still has some stiction. I mostly notice it with very minor adjustments during combat maneuvers (WWII) I have heavily considered the FSSB R3, by RealSimulator. Force sense sounds amazing, but I read it's not so great if your flying older planes like the mustang, or the 109. So that's on the back burner. I just saw the VKB Gunfighter "base only" was discontinued about as quickly as it was released. So for now I'm holding out to see that release, along with the modern stick pro & maybe that'll be my new right hand :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

It'll load whatever you had in the saved config file. (IE: you won't have to go clear all the "POV-look" bindings) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

You can grab your control configs & save a backup into a separate folder. Then when you delete your saved files (if that's what you need to do), once you relaunch DCS, you'll be able to go to your controller settings & choose to load your saved/backed up config. Headset recommendations?

Far too often now we see companies pair a cheap set of cans and a terrible microphone together, calling it their "gamer" edition. They cover the box in lame l337 speak text and then charge a premium price. I would suggest looking for reviews. I had some fatalities from years back. The super duper cool guy version. They were absolute trash. I'm not saying all "gamer" marketed cans are bad.... Just most. I have to give some credit to logitech. Their wireless g930's are pretty decent. I've had a pair for years. You can find them for < $100 now. However my current setup is Audio Technica ATH-A900x with a ModMic 4.0 attached. I do wear a hat + clip for my TrackIR. Can't speak to how good the pro clip may fit these in particular. Cost roughly $200 together for excellent audiophile headphones + a superb microphone. -
That'd be sweet. Last time I checked on tars it didn't support the ts3 updates. That was some time ago so this could have changed. Would be sweet to have that extra immersion for the DoW server tho!

Just a quicky - be sure to launch TrackIR, then launch DCS. If you start TrackIR after a game, it won't be recognized.
-
Nope. Things have changed. The link Iberian shared has the FAQ to answer most questions. Dcs wwii is a product which is no more. ED is completing the individual planes & the map, eventually. All will run in DCS, simply as individual modules.

Your RIGHT! I Found where they set the difficulty of the different planes on takeoff!! Just go in and change the position! ..program files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Scripts\Difficulty.lua //Take-off Difficulty _Rudder_Randomizerer: { P-51_ { [Easy]-----^--------------[Difficult] } {Difficulty} } { FW-190_ { [Easy]-----------------^--[Difficult] } {Difficulty} } :harhar: No really, its just difficult. It's not the Mustang. Don't expect it to handle like the Mustang. When the wheel is locked back, its fully locked. It doesn't move at all. You have to be much more gentle with it on the ground, take off and landings else you'll end up dead.
-
Haha nice. It just takes a little finesse. Give it some time, you'll get it down. I thought I was in good shape for a while, then I found that 'Rudder assist" was on by default. Turned it off and suddenly I couldn't get off the ground! Took me some time to find out what I needed to do.. Small movements go a long way in this plane. More so than in other Prop Sims I've jumped in. Definitely than (from what I could tell) in jets! Im usin a 'hog as well. Excellent stick :)

How was the 190 handled? Nobody had access until it was actually released @ full price, or was there brief access? Is the 190 "Beta access" now, or 'released but still needs some tweaks for things we overlooked/missed the deadline for'?
-
nope! got all excited! lol - Generated a key. Went to the page "Download files" .... click! and "Sorry, but the product files are not available at the moment." DOOHHH!!!
-
Ooh... so ... we got access then? :X

Nice!!! Can't wait to hop in a 109!!
