Thunderstorm ship ops Ok coming up next, Today we are in the middle of a thunderstorm 65mph winds (30m/s) 11 on beaufort scale. To make things worse we have turbulence another 30m/s. Visibility is 500m (a quarter mile) Cloud base 800m The runway and airport is closed (I wonder why!!! had never seen such message again when entering mission!) I placed the heli in the runway but the game started me from parking ramp rejecting responsibility for the mission! We are taking off with our own responsibility! We have no nav aids to find the ship, which by the way is in the middle of at least 7-10m wave height situation! (such waves are not vissible in DCS but the ship going up and down is seen and makes the approach insane!) Conditions are NO GO... thing is the mission is of National Importance and has to been done no matter what... Lets see what awaits us...

I just bought Mi-8 but have never flown it. You are right though. Free flight is more fun! I do not have the free time to get deeper into the sim unfortunately. Missions, MP and things like that. Maybe in the future...

I do not know how to operate the coms of the heli and most of it's switches and systems, I do not know how to power it up and shut it down (except fuel cut off LOL), I have never flown any mission, never been online, just wandering around in instant action More videos are to come...

Yep, that's right. The second I hit the fuel cuttoff the heli had 60kts fwd speed at 870ft AGL. Videos are ready (one from inside, one outside) I just have to upload them. Will be ready in a couple of hours! Challenge accepted!

How about raising the difficulty level to impossible? How about an autorotation landing on the ATC? Coming in the next video...

Hi to everyone! I decided to open my personal thread with fun/crazy/tricky/insane/dangerous landings! I do not have a lot free time in general so new landings will be coming after some time. Any comments and\or relative youtube posts are very welcome!

So can I operate them when in game? Or have them down in the mission editor from mission start?

Is there a way to make a ship lower it's (I do not know how they are called) helipad's rails? I mean all these railings that are perimetrical of the helipand so that I can land? Thanks

Well I have not much experience with the game (RL only) but I think that 300ft/m is not going to enter VRS, the problem starts at about 500ft/m so flying 300ft/m you are ok. Point is that because of the way VSI works there is a delay to show you the exact descent so when you establish 300ft/m descent be jentle with the collective so that you don't accidentaly fall below 500ft/m, and by the time VSI shows it you will be deep in VRS, some feet above the ground where there is no way out of it. Someone with more in game experiance can tell us If I am wrong or not Thanks
