  1. Anyone ever stop and consider the possibility that the reason the Litening works differently when bolted to the Hornet compared to the Viper, Hawg, Harrier, etc, is that when attached to the Hornet it uses the same controls/logic as the Nitehawk and ATFLIR? Just some food for thought on what to expect when we finally get the ATFLIR in game.
  2. Are sure about the latter part? Harrier's seem to have no problem using the Litening when deployed to the salt water environment of the LHA's/LHD's.
  3. Err... If I could kindly bring to your attention the date on the pictured documents lower right hand corner, you will see 1986. Roughly 20 years difference from the Harrier we have, things change. Also of note with that date, the only AV8B variant in existence operationly at that time would have been the “Day Attack”. Very different from the “Night Attack” we have.
  4. I’d say at least 2009-ish since, to the best of my knowledge, that’s about when they started moding the centerline pylon to use the TGP.
  5. Hi Matt, Are there any plans to implement unique call signs for the Hornet, like the A-10?
  6. Any one else disturbed, yet intrigued, by the fact that that the first official pictures of the “KC-130” are in fact of a USAF HC-130, an aircraft configured specifically for CSAR, and the refueling of CSAR HELOCOPTERS, instead of fast jets? A very interesting choice indeed...
  7. If I had to venture a guess when they are attached to a HMM they adopt the HMM's tail code.
  8. It's going to suck opening the SPR panel when those fasteners start to strip...
  9. Something along those lines. Not to sure on it's effective range, but I'm sure it varies from situation to situation.
  10. :shocking: That's absolutely ridiculous!
  11. It's stands for Missile Warning System. It's essentially an array of optical sensors placed around an aircraft that detect the flash of light from a missile launch. The system then alerts the pilot to the missile launch and also tells him the rough direction and distance. It's a powerful tool that gives a pilot a fighting chance against IR as well as radar guided missles.
  12. The last F-14s were decommissioned in 2006. So unless my math is wrong it's only been 7 years... http://www.navy.mil/navydata/fact_display.asp?cid=1100&tid=1100&ct=1
  13. Indeed. I'm hoping one day someone will make a Cuba map so I can fly my A-10 out of Gitmo and take on those pesky Cubans once again. :joystick:
  14. Not sure what all the fuss over Nevada is about. If you don't like it don't buy it and wait for the next new map. Simple as that. I personally am looking forward to getting the Nevada map so I can re-live the days of flying around the desert training ground in A-10 Cuba.
  15. :shocking: I think I just jizzed in my pants.
  16. Pretty spot on. Not that it really matters any more. KI didn't get anyone's money. So if the module doesn't come out as expected, if it comes out at all, the only people out of pocket will be KI. So I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm going to just kick back and see what happens.
  17. I'm not much for WW2 flight sims, but I'll have to keep my eye on this. Looks like it could have some good potential.
  18. Cute, but I doubt it will be anything more than a demonstrator. Possible technical problems aside, there's simply no need for it. I also get the feeling that article is where the inspiration for that picture came from.
  19. Boom goes the dynamite...
  20. Definitely not. No MV-22 is set up to carry a hose and drogue. That happens to be a very convincing PhotoChop.
  21. Ok... I was simply thinking they could use there current pledge levels and perks.
  22. KI could look into setting up a pledge system/campaign similar to Star Citizen.
  23. Just hit 40%/$30,000 with 72 hours to go. Not looking good...
  24. Last time I checked, the F-35 did have a gun. :music_whistling:
  25. Seat looks good. At this rate they'll have a full cockpit roughed out in no time.
