Problem: X52 Pro freezes computer
Athlonic replied to Saetheer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I had this X52 issue as well on my Asus Formula VI. Actually there is 3 solutions : 1/ Disable xHCI USB in bios This will disable USB3.0 feature and turn them into USB2.0. Using whatever USB2.0 ports when xHCI is enabled WON'T help. This method is also better than uninstalling USB 3.0 drivers as you will still be able to activate USB 3.0 with a simple bios option toggle if you need USB3.0 awesomeness. (ie. when transferring your holidays mkv to external USB 3.0 devices ^^ ) 2/ Switch to Win8.1 Win8.1 USB3.0 drivers are quite better, honestly. X52 will work BUT : you will still suffer from X52's MFD txt display corruptions with xHCI enabled. 3/ Get an X-55 Rhino. No problem here with USB 3.0 and it is a nice upgrade over an X52. -
It seems to be working by assigning Throttle JOY_RY axis on "Zoom view" in "Axis commands" from ingame menu. ;) BTW, I just finished my A10C X55 profil with the Saitek HUD software. This thing is kinda weird for now, every single command which requires a "press&hold" NEED to be assigned as a new commands and need the release sequence to be deleted. :/ Otherwise the command won't work at all ingame. This is strange because on the X52 a simple key bind would repeat accordingly without any issue. Would be nice if they release their new software with calibration tool, because my stick X axis center is really OFF right now. (like 54% to the right)

You are welcome ;)

Ok got my X55 as well yesterday, loving it so far. I finally found a way to map mouse nipple for slewing. Old X52 bands solution didn't effectively work for some reason. Solution : 1- Bind mouse nipple as "Bands" 2- Assign slew KB keys as "Commands" instead of keystrokes (right click -> new command) 3- Name your command (ie. Slew Left) 4- Left click in "Press" section 5- Hit the KB key to assign, you will see it binds the press and release action 6- Left click the release action to select it 7- Then right click it and select "Delete" so you only have the press action 8- Hit "Ok" 9- Edit bands to your liking, I found 15% on each side to work well Then slew KB keys will be repeated as long as you maintain the mouse nipple in the corresponding direction, because by just assigning them as simple keystrokes wouldn't repeat them and so it wouldn't work in the game. It still require so time to handle this, as the axes of the mouse nipple are kinda off, "up" is rather "up/right" and so on. :smilewink: Another thing : You can assign Airbrakes to the SBK "slider" as well. Even if this "slider" is in fact an always on button when slid to the right. Solution: In the same manner as for the mouse nipple solution : 1- Assign binding as "New command" (right click -> new command...) 2- Name your command (ie. Airbrakes ON/OFF) 3- Hit 'SHIFT-B' (Airbrake ON) in the "Press" window 4- Hit 'CTRL-B' (Airbrake OFF) in the "Release" window 5- Click "Ok" This way, Airbrakes will extend when you slide SBK to the left (and it will do the keystroke only once) and as soon as you put back SBK to the left they will retract. This X55 is definitely a nice refresh over my (good) old X52. At least it works well with USB3.0 and the rotary on the throttle are rock stable (unlike the X52). :)

Seems like I took the last one from the french site. :music_whistling:

@Shein, Did you try txmtb solution here : This is how I do with my X52Pro and it works flawlessly, doing otherwise I got the same issue as you with your X55. Hope it helps.

Test: Setting CPU Affinity
Athlonic replied to SkateZilla's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
@BitMaster Nice setup here. I would just suggest going for a 2 x 8GB CL10 @2400MHz kit. I saw some test with 4770K resulting as follow : Optimal performance : CL9 @2400MHz in most case Best cost/perf ratio : CL10 @2400MHZ cost around 100$ less ;) -
Hi, These 2000's tailhook are actually used in case of emergency only (like the drag chutes) in case of wheel brakes failures or such. We call them "crosse d'arret", of course they do not allow a M2000 to land on carrier ^^
-
2000N forever ! ;p Anyway I am looking forward this "old" 2000C for both FSX & DCS If you have spare time feel free to model a 2000-5 :) RDY radar and more fire power are always welcome. Forget the 2000D however, we already got enough attack aircrafts in DCS ^^ (just kidding) Keep up the good work.

 Confirmed, working here as well ! Thanks for the head up. And thank you a lot ED for this kind attention and support ! Love you ! :P

If it means what I think : You lucky lucky lucky ! ;)

This sounds great indeed ! Nice to hear your are working on OR integration. DCS will simply be amazing with OR+Hotas. Can't wait !

Considering the Corsair H100i
Athlonic replied to Bolt-1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi, I bought it last week as well. All I can say is : this Corsair H100i ROCKS ! With Notcuas F12 it is quite silent. The corsair Link software is excellent, still somewhat buggy but it is promising. Also it keep my old i7 920 (stepping C0!) under 75C° @ 4.0GHz/1.35Vcore -
:worthy: Matt, ED team : "je vous aime !" The full DCS package on Steam : a dream comes true  No more Lockon, double DCS installation & copy/pasta workaround needed. Thanks a lot, looking forward your next products.

That was fast, thanks a lot ! ;) -
When is Mi-8 coming to Steam?
Athlonic replied to Viciouslove's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
You would still need the standalone DCS World to update each nonSteam modules (like FC3) when a new version comes out, and copy/paste again. Best way is to use a tool like "Winmerge" it can compare 2 folders and update only files which have been modified/added/removed. ;) -
Thanks a lot PeterP ! You just made my day, finally clickable radio menu again ! \o/

OMG OMG OMG this is soo cool : Can I ask if it will be available on Steam right on release date as well ? :prop:

Oh, my bad then :poster_oops: PS : F16 did you say ? :cheer3nc: :D

I agree and thanks ED again to give us Steam key for already purchased product. But I am sorry, who's asking for free stuff here ? As far as I am concerned I just would want to know if, as a FC3 owner, I will be able at anytime in the future to activate DCS FC modules on Steam as I have them included in FC3 for free on standalone DSCW. I know FC3 can't be transferred on Steam due to license restriction, but DCS FC modules aren't. And by the way, several developers did transfert customers keys to Steam lately : SCS : Euro truck simulator 2 Squad : Kerbal Space program (they even find a way to revoke keys from standalone store) FTL : Faster than Light Gamedev Tycoon Eagle Dynamics : DCS stuff :D ... Of course I am happy enough already that all my other DCS modules are now on my Steam library, I just want to know about these famous Steam DCS Flaming Cliffs modules as I bought FC3 after it was stated we will get futures DCS : FC aircrafts for free. And again I am not whining or asking for free stuff. I already hesitated to buy FC3 because of the lack of clickable cockpits and previous mods support, so how about buying DCS FC aircraft twice to have them on Steam ? So, I think I will wait and keep a standalone installation beside Steam version in the mean time on just to be able use FC3 and these DCS modules enhancement. Hope it makes things clearer. :smilewink:
