  1. Well...after some more tests I found out that changing TrackIR settings within DCS axis tune (eg 44 Y for Yaw, 66 Y for Pitch and 50 X for Roll) interferes with the Proper Neck's zoom within the cockpit. Returned everything back to 100 in the meantime. Would sure like a better correlation between DCS and the TrackIR software.
  2. Tried Y axis before that. It dampened the effect and made the movement sluggish. Then tried X axis and somehow it got the desired effect of correlation between DCS and TrackIR movements on roll while keeping them fast enough. Do try it. On Yaw and Pitch I changed only the Y axis,
  3. You are right. Sorry for not elaborating in my post. I changed the X axis saturation within axis tune of TackIR Roll. Hope I clarified it.
  4. Shamanddg...thanks for the data regarding yaw and pitch! As for the roll axis...checked it as well and without calculations, just by eyes and feel I changed X axis to 50. Achieved, for me, about the same effect as with the pitch and yaw. If someone can calculate the exact saturation needed or check if it helps as well I'll appreciate it.
  5. A wise man once wrote me this: "Please do keep flying DCSW. Its a fantastic game/sim (when it's working)". Please do listen to him...
  6. Hi, First off... been using some of your mods PeterP and I must say you have managed to make DCS a much better expirience for me...thank you ! As for the proper neck mod...it seems to me like I'm missing something, due to my own fault. On some missions it works beautifully (eg the HUD moves as it should) and on other missions it's like the mod is not recognizable (eg the HUD stays fixed and I'm sitting too high in the cockpit). Would appreciate the help. Polaris Problem solved... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=108587
  7. I've been given a lot from the community and it is time I give some back. Attached is an Excel spreadsheet with WartHog HOTAS assigned buttons for the A10 C, F15 C and P51D. The buttons used are given the function name instead of the DCS BTN numbers. This way, in my opinion, it is easier to memorize and even use it with other HOTAS. This is a first draft so...I shall welcome any improvements, corrections. * The P51 D profile doesn't, at the moment, utilize the DMS and TMS switches. My thanks to all profile makers for their threads, advices and pictures! I tried assembling the attached from the combination of previous different profiles and my personal experience. Enjoy DCS Controllers 131012.rar
  8. Read it Wrecking Crew and it's a nice article and well written. Saying that...a couple of issues: 1. Your joystick profile is one of the approaches. 2. I think the general consensus in the community regarding the throttle is "thou shalt not alter the throttle curvature". It should help in refuelling but I think it dumpens the throttle output in an unrealistic way. Thanks though for your input mate! I'm thinking of the Zahry extension...just worried about its plug and play status. Really not interested in messing around with it too much.
  9. I've read many approaches concerning tuning the joystick for the A10-C ranging from it's not necessary since it comes ready from the box to giving it a dead zone of 3, saturation Y of 90 and a curvature of 30. I would appreciate your input on what setting will make it behave realistically.
  10. Flagrum...your help and time are appreciated! Donr know why I had no need for trimming in level flight so far but I'll take it from the more experienced and knowledgable persons here. My gratitude for your help and for bringing me some peace of mind. Cheers mate!!!
  11. Been there, did that, the plane banks on itself.
  12. First off...Flagrum...thanks for the help! As for the different aspects of your advices: 1. The banking was not present till about 48 hours ago. 2. The A10C banking occurs even after jettison full payload (LCtrlW). 3. All is checked through instant mission in midair...the P51 banks to the left as it never had. When check through campaign 2 for the A10C on the runway it veers to the right on the ground during takeoff with nose wheel active and without. By the way...no banking with the simpler planes, eg F15C and SU 25T.
  13. Side winds: negative. Unequal load out: negative. Virtual joystick: negative. All controllers work properly.
  14. Hi, Started about 48 hours ago. It's like there's a small rudder input either to the right for the A-10C or to the left for the P51D. Uninstalled the game completely, uninstalled the controllers completely, installed everything from scratch and...if every single device is disconnected the A-10C will bank to the right and the P51D will bank to the left. I think it started after a C++ update but I'm not certain. Running WIN 7, WartHog HOTAS, Saitek combat pedals, TrackIr 5 and a huge amount of fatigue.
  15. Met a couple of nice guys over at the DCS TS channel, Matt and Penpen. Actually Matt started it all by suggesting I get the module, so...it's his fault ;) Then, I came back all dressed up with goggles and a scarf and into a step by step, easy going, patient session with Penpen. The proof for his skills as an instructor...I became airborne! So...thanks mates! Onwards and upwards.
  16. Thank you all for your good advices. MTFDarkEagle for the proposal, aaron886, After being a part of a virtual squad for so long (in another platform) it's kind of hard to find myself flying solo. Some is about learning to fly but it's mostly about the comradery. Devilman, sorry but I can't divulge anything since my dietary requirements are top secret...Shshshsh ;) Thanks also to WildBillKelsoe and Sharpe_95 (with the great advice!). Enjoy the weekend :) Polaris
  17. Hi all, Been here for a short few days, been flying multiplayer jets for a few years but on another platform. On search for a reputable squadron in which to "grow up" I read through the different threads for hours until I decided to approach the 74th. I marveled the approach of excellence and dedication with beers on the side. Looked for Tyger and found his departure thread. I come from a tight community and my FB tag name still carries my squad from another game and departures are always a loss. Even for those who move along. So...I'm in search for a reputable squadron, with tradition, excellence, a lot of patience for the noobiest noob that I am and.. beer on the side. Polaris

    Greetings

Thanks Josh for the good advices :) I'm walking through the paces, step by step, getting familiar with the real aerodynamics and the controls. And oh boy are there a lot of them lol. I do miss the rush of a good dogfight but, as you wrote, I found out that DCS has the reputation of being the best sim so I'll have to be patient and get some good habits instead of the current ones. Well...onwards and upwards.
