There's no question regarding the incredible contribution PeterP has given this community. I think that sometimes, when given so much, it's time to appreciate the given and the foundations and continue to develop on our own. I think that continued development by others, by those who have the skills and know how, shall achieve two goals: a continued use of incredible mods adapted to current versions...and...show appreciation for the great foundations laid for us by keeping them alive. When PeterP decides to come back from his leave I'll be more than happy. Till then...let's let him be and continue his great work...

The sky at night looks like a night in the desert, bright and clear...a very desolate place away from the city lights during the summer when there are no clouds or haze. So...the brightness is spot on, in my opinion, for that specific scenario, but in most scenarios stars are quite a bit dimmer.

You're welcome :) They are not 2 steps but 2 separate actions with No. 1 dealing with modules' assigned switches and No. 2 dealing with custom controls... eg added commands for toggle switches. In short...one can use either 1 or 2 separately or together.

I'm not into finding problems (which I don't argue with) but into finding solutions. I got thus far with help, lots of help, from others. Therefore, to make things easier and simpler for newcomers, attached are all my profiles for all the modules I use with the addition of custom controls for 3 modules. They are all for TM Warthog HOTAS. My other input devices in the input files: TrackIR 5, Saitek combat rudder pedals. Please read the read me document within the RAR file before going any further. LcSummers, 1. Put the file within the JSGME _MODS folder and activate it. 2. Assign JOY_BTN 22 up (flaps up switch) to "Alternate Flaps Up Middle" 3. Assign JOY_BTN 29 (flaps down switch) to "Alternate Flaps Landing middle". You're welcome :)

In order to understand what I did please read the attached link from the beginning till the end. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89226 The lines I added are quite in the beginning of the default.lua in the mod, under my nick name. As for the Master Arm switch...I checked it out and there's only one state programmed for the switch...therefore it's not possible to make it a 2 way switch through DCS options. As it is, I personally don't use Target at all and prefer to let DCS and its options lead the way.

Knecht hi, Some background first (a short one I promise)... 1. Most DCS modules controllers options are set in a way the commands can only detect ON switches...eg...when a switch is moved to its ON position then a command is registered within DCS options. When a switch is turned from its ON position to its OFF position it doesn't register. How to know which is the the ON or OFF state of each switch...within Windows settings of controllers. All I'm doing is making "Alternate" commands that register when a switch is turned off. You assign the ON position within the DCS controllers options and when that switch is turned off in the pit the switch movement is registered and the switch moves back. TM Warthog HOTAS is a special case which is discussed here. a. A 3 way switch has two ON positions at the extremities (upper and lower or right and left) and one OFF position in the middle. So...these switches, such as the flaps switch, are actually two switches with one being up (ON) and middle (OFF) and the other being down (ON) and middle (OFF). So...I made two "Alternate" commands for the flaps with one for up and middle and the other for down and middle. ...assign up to the Alternate up and assign down to the Alternate down and it shall work. b. The throttle operates a switch when pulled over the detent at its idle position...its ON position. When the throttle is moved back forward that switch is turned OFF. So...choose the Alternate command for the throttle and assign the throttle by moving it backwards over the detent. Hope it helps...

As far as I understand from other posts in this thread and from other's experience (eg plane smoke) it seems like They render data differently. The same with haze. Just wondering if we, NVIDIA users, are getting the same optimized scene... Not that I'm complaining lol because I enjoy your work immensely!

Mustang...there's something I think I'm missing... Are you testing this mod also on NVIDIA or only on AMD?

Could it be that 5.24 made everything under the sky a bit darker? (Cockpit, reflections on the plane...). Shall try the 5.25 ti see if it's fixed...

Or...maybe...if you can hear what a noob has to say... In my opinion, a good squad leader looks for diversity: An array of pilots ranging from strict by the books (but don't cross the line of being drill sergeants) to natural pilots (without crossing the line of being dangerous and without being too mischevious). Only with the right combo can you have a winning squad. By the way...if most mad aces had done only what was allowed by procedures we wouldn't have had legends...

Well...it's simple...my computer had a wonderful life with the 560 until it met DCS. It was traumatized so badly I had to put it on Prozac till my current card arrived ;)
