  1. Hello I've been waiting years for a VR headset like the Pimax Crystal to return to DCS. A long time ago I invested in the DCS WW2 Kickstarter at $250, and wondering if I should download DCS thru Steam or directly from DCS to enable the WW2 aircraft, and terrain etc, . I don't remember how I first downloaded the sim. Thanks
  2. PIMAX is working on a 120hz option for the 8kx. So far they have 118hz working in inhouse tests.
  3. I didn't mean to suggest that the IPD had anything to do with the small scaling of the XTAL headset. I just require a wide IPD setting that I know the Pimax headset has. MRTV mentioned to XTAL that the cockpit appeared to be too small, so I would think that the XTAL developers can fix the issue, and/or have setting options to correct the issue that some users might have.
  4. YouTube MRTV tried the XTAL and Pimax 8kx at CES and found that the XTAL had fantastic picture quality, but the cockpit scaling was too small. They found the scaling much better in the Pimax headset. I'm primarily waiting for the 8Kx with its wide IPD adjustment.
  5. I'm waiting for the new Pimax 8kx, which is far superior to the old 5K+, and better than all currently available VR headsets, according to CES reviewers, BUT I'll be waiting for it to appear on sale at Amazon for easy return if necessary.
  6. I definitely wouldn't buy any of the current Pimax offerings, BUT the new Pimax headsets coming out this year appear to better than current VR headsets. I was an early adopter of VR, but I won't be buying any further VR headsets until they have a wide FOV and atleast the overall clarity of a 1080p monitor. Although I may buy the 8kx if it sells on Amazon so I could easily send it back if necessary. .
  7. Personally I have no problem seeing info about the new Pimax headsets from all sources including Sweviver. Just because he's now working for Pimax doesn't mean everything he says is bullcrap. The 8Kx could be a very good VR solution for flight sims, but I probably won't buy it until its offered on Amazon where I can easily return it.
  8. I noticed that VR sites VRfocus, UploadVR, and Road to VR are quick to note the poor support, and delays of the Pimax headsets. These faults should be reported, but it is curious that these sites haven't bothered to review the new headsets, that users are raving about from CES in the west, too the Pimax demo days along the eastern US seaboard, etc.
  9. I assumed from the Pimax specs that the IPD mechanically adjusted up to 75. After watching a few youtube reviews I found that the physical IPD adjustment of the headset is 72, and the software can adjust it up to 75. This is hugely disappointing to me as my IPD is 73, and I'm not so sure that a software adjustment is effective enough. Not having a proper IPD setting can induce motion type sickness.
  10. DCS was one of the prime sims constantly demoed on the Pimax 8Kx at CES etc. I'm sure Pimax would have steered clear of DCS if they couldn't run it smoothly.
  11. There is no doubt that earlier editions of Pimax headsets had issues, but all resent reviews rave about the new headsets. It remains to be seen if Pimax improves customer support.
  12. One of the main reasons I'm waiting for the PIMAX 8kx is its much wider physical IPD adjustment than all other headsets.
  13. Is the inside/out Pimax 6DOF tracking good enough for flight sims, or are outside tracking modules necessary.
  14. Apparently Pimax won the award for best VR headset at CES. The only headset that appears to have better visuals is the XTAL headset, probably because of its superior lenses. Although the XTAL may have scale issues at this time, and you would pay thousands more for it. Pimax appears to be the best overall headset coming to the market in the near future..
  15. I'm waiting for the high res, high FOV, wider IPD adjustment, of the Pimax 8Kx.
