Hi Chaps Very frustrated here... I have allocated the Twin Throttles of my Virpil Mongoose T-50 to the "Axis Commands" / "Thrust Left" and "Thrust Right" and when I move the throttles the white lines in the "Adjust Controls" window move correctly. I have selected the "Axis Tune" and the Large and small dots move perfectly in response to control inputs. However, the throttles in the cockpit remain very fixed at Stop. I have tried allocating the Joystick axis to the throttles to prove it is not the Throttle Hardware by there is still no response to the joystick. Yes, the joystick causes the stick to move in the cockpit. I have electrical power on the aircraft. I have tried with the APU running, I have tried with the Finger Lifts up. As I say, it is weird as the "Adjust Controls" appears to work perfectly... Any Ideas, Please???? Thanks Edit: Throttles in aircraft are not reacting to the keyboard commands either. Everything else seem to!!!

I have bought the WarBRD base and the Thrustmaster F-18 Grip. However when I try to select them in the Virpil Setup I can select the base but there is nothing in the Grip Drop Down! Any ideas, please guys? For Info: The Windows game controller names it "WarBrd + Delta"!!! Whatever that means! Edit: Okay I have fixed it. I needed to select the "VPC WarBrd" from the Top List and then after the Firmware Update it allowed selection of the "VPC WarBrd" as the Base and "TM WarthogFA-18" as the Grip

I think the Harpoon should aim for the middle of the radar signature above the waterline. This is normally about where the Operations Room is. This weapon is about a mission kill, not a sinking. The only really effective way to sink a ship is with torpedoes. If ED can model failure of Ship system independently of the models damage percentage then we are onto something... Until then I doubt anti-ship missiles will properly represent the detriment to operational capability that they should have.

I have a T-16000M so I can get the A/P to engage okay. The problem comes when deselecting the A/P. If BAlt Hold is in and I deselect it (no colon) I find the hold stays in until I move the stick, but doesn’t release until I move it quite a lot so I get a sudden jolt (deviation) in height where I was hoping to have a steady disengage. Any ideas please!

WOW - THis is a MASSIVE subject and every situation needs to be judged on its merits... Type of enemy, his energy, your energy, his weapons, yours, Height, terrain, etc etc etc. I can only recommend this...... Read as a minimum Chapter 1 of this book, but read on once you have read Chapter 1 at least three times..... Fighter Combat: Tactics and Manoeuvring

Sir Please see my PM -
Would you expand upon and explain what you mean by “you should connect by IP and port” please? His connection to the internet or the server he wants to join.... etc

Yeah - It sounded like that to me, but when he goes to the dcs site the DCS World 2.5 Open Beta says downloaded I beleive!!! Obviously, he is new and it’s not so easy to talk him to the same webpage as I am looking at.... If he does have Open Beta, why is it seeing only “Stable” servers???

A freind just downloaded DCS 2.5 Open Beta so we could play together. However, his version is 2.5.4 (and says it is up to date) and mine is 2.5.5 so we see a different of Servers in multiplayer. Why would my version be a newer version when he downloaded today and so should be the most modern version of DCS 2.5 Open Beta? Any advice would be greatly appreciated... A factor may be that He is in the USA and I am in the UK????

Sir 1. Is it possible to have a spawn aircraft in the hangar? 2. If so can we have an SU-25 in there so that to be an LSO we don't have to buy another module please? 3. If not, can we have an SU-25 on the flight deck please? I realise this will make the shi[p look a bit odd hence the idea of it beibng in the hangar... Many thanks Gos

Spitfire Module with latest DCS Update

Hi @Westr Okay so the modules are installed and I have ractivated them but they don’t show in the icons at the bottom of the screen immediately after start of the sim. I can see them in the module manager though. -
I cannot seem to get my Spitfire module to work with the latest DCS update = 2.5.2 How can I get this, and the other WWII modules working please?

Thinking about building a Cockpit for this. Any chance of a list of the controls please...

That fixed it - Many thanks guys... Gos

Since the patch to version 2.1.1.8244, DCS no longer recognises my Normandy terrain although the module manager shows all the modules I have ticked green which are Normandy, WWII assets, Spit, P51, SU25, T51, Spit Epsom Campaign. When I start DCS it brings up a window saying I have no terrain and once past that only the following oprtions are available> Logbook Encyclopedia Exit Thus I cannot play. Any ideas anyone, please.

Not trying to teach anyone to "suck eggs", but: Heading and Times - Thats all you need, Headings and times. Of course that is not all but you start with those and you adjust for wind to get better headings and times... First thing to remember is "...ish" is good. Stuff does not need to be accurate, just accurate enough to be within two minutes flight time as you can then see the target. I wrote these presentation to try to help. http://616sqn.tidesofwar.net/data/616BasicNavPlan.pdf http://616sqn.tidesofwar.net/data/616BasicNavWind.pdf http://616sqn.tidesofwar.net/data/616BasicNavFly.pdf
