  1. I've just set up a 2 monitor setup - display plus touchscreen. I really like the added immersion the touch screen brings. I'm using Loz's A10C Helios profile. I'm sure there was a good reason but its a bit disappointing that the CDU display and 8 line buttons are not included. If you use Loz's A10 profile how are you working with the CDU? If there isn't a way to incorporate it on the touchscreen with Loz's profile then this might be what make me start thinking about a CDU build :)
  2. Has anyone tried this using this mod with the Mig 21??
  3. Found it! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125195&highlight=dual+monitor
  4. I've been looking for a thread and for the life of me I can't find it  It dealt with multi-monitor configuration and contained an step by step document that the author had prepared. For example a world display and a Helios touchscreen. Any ideas this thread might be hiding??
  5. Ok change of plans instead of going with 3 monitors plus the Helios monitor I've decided to go with the LG 34um95 which is 3440x1440. The Helios would be 1920x1080. I have a GTX 970. Would there be any issue with the different resolutions?
  6. Thanks guys, that helps a lot. Now I'm on the slippery slope, I've decided to go with 3 monitors for world view and a separate touchscreen with Helios. So I need to do some more digging to figure out what to do in terms of the rest of the kit.
  7. After poking around the forums I've decided to go with Helios. I fly multiple AC and it seems like the most flexible option. I am a bit confused when it comes to the monitor. My primary monitor is 1920x1080. I'd like to get a 21 or 23 inch for Helios. Do I need to get one which displays 1920x1080?? What should I look for when I select a touchscreen?
  8. +1 on the Mig 21
  9. For those of you who are using Voice Attack and you haven't given VAICOM a try I urge you to do so. I've recently been flying the Mig 21 and it was pretty straight forward to get it working with the Mig 21. Its very immersive!! Will totally change your experience with the sim. Thanks again to Hollywood. I hope that you continue your excellent work with VAICOM. I think it would be a good idea to have a separate VAICOM thread in the Mods section so more people can find out about it. I just happened to stumble across it here.
  10. I want to use Voice Attack to assist with the radio menus. Instead of using F1 F2 F3 etc as voice commands I would like to be able to use the descriptions associated with the function keys ie ATC, AWACS, etc. Is there a file that is installed that contains the radio comm menu items??
  11. Very nice! I'm pretty handy but not enough to know where to start. I might be wrong but I'd bet there are a number of people who would be willing to part with some cash to get a how do doc or video.
  12. I've just attempted to fly the easy target practice mission. When I contact the AWACS to get a PICTURE the altitude of the contact is reported in ft. This is fine except for the fact that the Mig altimeter is in meters. I'm pretty good with numbers but I'd rather not have to do a conversion on the fly :) So am I missing something?? Can I get the AWACS to report meters? Thanks.
  13. Sorry to jump in but is it possible to use the keys I purchased on Steam with an ED install?
  14. I think you'll find the issue is with the script. I had a similar experience, no trim response. Then I checked the script key mapping and it wasn't correct. When you trim you should see the trim switch on the stick in the cockpit move then you'll know that its mapped correctly.
  15. I believe there is an issue with the PRMG Landing Tutorial. In the first part of the tutorial you are supposed to fly a PRMG approach to rwy 040. Once you have the Glide slope flag from white to black you are instructed to change course to get the course flag to black. The on screen instructions indicate that you should be about 14km from the rwy but I've always found that I'm only half of that about 7km. I've paid attention to my IAS speed and kept it slightly below 600 from the start of the mission as instructed. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or there is an issue with the training mission? Any pointers :)
  16. John - I'm referring to the yellow needle in the center of the KPP. I've watched your videos, thank you for your work. I found them very helpful and well presented. I hope you do more. It was after watching one of your videos that I did some flights to practice radial interception that led to my question/observation above.
  17. I'm learning navigation procedures. I've been practicing intercepting radials using the yellow needle in the KPP to gradually fly on to the selected radial. What surprises me is how gradual this process is. I was intercepting from about 15 degrees off the desired radial and I thought 25km would be enough but it wasn't I over flew the station before I was on the radial. Does this seem correct?? Is flying the yellow needle on the KPP really that gradual?
  18. I have TacView 1.3.1 installed. I've made sure 'Record DCS Flights' is selected. I've also specified a folder for the ACMI files. I start TacView and then start DCS. What else do I need to do because when I fly a mission and return to Tacview there is no flight info??
  19. This was my thought also! To satisfy my curiosity I hope there is an explanation.
  20. The manual page 18 states that no matter what joystick you have you should setup a small deadzone 1-3 and curvature 20-25 pitch and 10-25 roll. When I'm flying the A10C or the F15 I've always used linear input and no deadzone. Do you follow the manual recommendation and fly with curvature? I'm no expert but I wonder what makes the Mig21 model need the axis tuning?
  21. Thanks for the work its appreciated!
  22. Thank you! TTaylor, much appreciated!
  23. This is going to sound like a dumb question. I've read the manual and completed the Take Off and Landing tutorials but I'm totally confused when it comes to the afterburner. Is the afterburner engaged by simply placing the throttle at max power? On the L segment panel there are number of switches that refer to afterburner operation: No 12 - Emergency nozzle?? No 33 - Engine nozzle control switch? No 57 - Second afterburner on/off switch? At this stage what I want to understand is the basic operation of the afterburner. Can anyone give the a rough idea or point me in the right direction please.
  24. Thanks ApoNOOB I understand now. So looking at the first page of this thread there are 8 3 position switch bindings. If I understand correctly I need to assign a 3 position switch on my Warthog to each of these but there are not enough 3 position switches available (autopilot, flaps???).
  25. I have a Warthog and I'm not understanding why some one would want to go to the effort of creating a .lua file when they could instead map the Warthog buttons in the Options menu? I have no idea how to program the .lua file in any case. Can some one give me the quick and dirty explanation please.
