Ok so if I use the .lua then I don't need to run Target. Again I'm trying to get the various options straight so forgive this question. Wouldn't it be easier just to go to Options and map the controller buttons directly??
-
This is a noob ques. I noticed another thread that discusses a LUA implementation for the TM Warthog. How is that approach different than using the Target Profile? Is there any advantages one way or the other??

I'm looking at adding this module to my collection. I can't remember where but I thought I had heard that there was a campaign included? Or is it just Instant Action. I don't get much chance to do multiplayer so an engaging set of scenarios/campaign is important to me.

I currently have a number of modules which I've purchased through Steam. The note on the sale page says the keys purchased can not be used to activate on Steam. So if I purchase F86 can I have the Steam DCS World install on my system and a separate DCS World with the ED F86??

Thanks Ian. I hadn't come across his vids before.

I've been reading the manual and I'm trying to understand some of the Weapon Profile Settings. Things like Escape Maneuver, Fuse, Low and High Drag, TOF, Eject Velocity, Bomb Rack Delay. The videos I've watched online tend to be push this button, do this and that but they don't really explain why. Anyone know of a resource that help get me started??

On the topic of training missions is there a way to fast forward during the mission. I've been learning the weapon systems and I want to jump ahead to the part of the mission where I employ the weapons without having to listen to all of the instruction every time.
-
Ok it got it - put the time in and do the full start up procedure. Are you using the Start Up checklist in the manual or do you run a different list and why?
-
Being new I'm in the process of learning all the necessary procedures. I've been using the checklists included in the manual. While going through this I've wondered how often people actually go through the full start-up procedure as opposed to doing a runway or in air start?

Interactive Introduction to A-10C Training
CrackerJack replied to AFAlinebacker42's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
To the Trainers, I apologize but I will not be able to participate. Even though I'm self employed I have to attend to those who allow me pay my bills when they want my service. I'm really bummed! Is there a chance that you might make a video of the training. Cheers! -
Interactive Introduction to A-10C Training
CrackerJack replied to AFAlinebacker42's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I'd like to participate. I've never logged into a MP server before can you please post a summary of how I go about this. Thank you. -
I bought my modules through Steam. Can I enter the license keys on the ED website to receive a credit?
-
So I bought CA during the recent Steam sale. I've love my A-10C, FC3 and P-51D modules. I do yearn for a tank sim. I've looked at the CS manual and I guess I should have looked into it more before purchasing but I can't argue with the price. I'm sure it'll improve with time. Probably should have purchases SBProPE for the tank itch. However I'm curious what are people actually doing with CA. I suspect its MP? I don't see any SP excitement.

Just picked up CA and it appears that there are no training missions?
-
Superhornete I can confirm that the AOA scale is displayed in the HUD when the gear is up.
-
Thank you for that!

I've been flying some simple missions I created to get familiar with the F-15C. It appears that when a target is locked there is not way to specify which AAM is used AIM-120, AIM-7. I've looked at the manual but nothing there. Are AAMs selected automatically based upon target parameters?
-
I just installed the SweetFX mod using ron533's JSGME download. When its enabled there is a vertical split mid screen - looks like different settings are being applied to the left and right sides??
-
Superhornete thank you for the clarification. I had expected the manual to be up to date :-)
-
So try a simple training mission flew the to Senaki 09 even though ILS mode was selected no glideslope or localizer bars were displayed in the HUD the AOA bar was. The ADI localizer/glideslope were active though. I would have expected display in HUD?? as shown in manual. Sorry I forgot to check if the AOA scale was still in HUD after switching to NAV mode :-)
-
I'll give it a try with HDR off. There appear to be a number of different terrain/lighting mods I'm not sure which of them would help eliminate the washed out look.
-
I'm going to set up a simple mission in the editor with a WP about 8km off runway and then a Landing WP on the airfield and see if I get the localizer and glideslope. I'll also check for the AOA scale after I raise the landing gear and let you know.
-
Its not multiplayer.

I've recently picked up FC3. When I select ILS Nav Mode I can then cycle through airports and select one to navigate to. I follow the steer point in the HUD but I've noticed a couple of things (1) the ILS bars glideslope and localizer bars do not appear? (2) following the steer point has brought me somewhat lined up with runway but its off. I've been flying the F-15C. I must be missing something in my understanding. The manual is rather vague.

I've attached some screenshots. There is an image of the DCS>Options>Graphics settings. I do not have any mods loaded. I'm running an Intel i5-4670 @ 3.4GHz and the GTX 770 with 2MB OC. I also have TIR 5 and the TM Warthog. In the screenshots the HUD is set to max brightness. I have also tried different HUD colors. In my opinion there is a lack of contrast. Adjusting the monitor does not help because then the interior cockpit becomes to dark. Is this the way it is supposed to look? Are there any tweaks/mods that you'd recommend. It just seems washed out, I'd to see more contrast/saturation (not sure what the correct technical words are).
