  1. Yup downloading from website as well.
  2. Hey guys! So I've read the news about the version 1.2.11 being released to public consumption! Which is fantastic news, however my updater says the 1.2.11 is not available :(. I've tried this through: console(CMD) with the command dcs_updater update 1.2.11
  3. In the digital world of sims no doubt there is... I was aiming to say "practice makes perfect". If the conditions vary for the same input, the results may vary :)
  4. I recall having seen it on the official website's news page for the 15th of November. Unless that recently changed :)
  5. Absolutely! I mean, I can take a negative 20G all day right?
  6. John Stapp was subjected to 15 g for 0.6 seconds and a peak of 22 g during a 19 March 1954 rocket sled test. He would eventually survive a peak of more than 46 g, with more than 25 g for 1.1 seconds. Wikipedia- Well, we all know who they modeled in the pilot seat :)
  7. And this is why the module is not available elsewhere than an entirely different install specifically called "Beta" It's shit, and it's a good start can mean the same thing but can come out with entirely different results.
  8. I'm not sure... I mean only 27 G ? It will at most accelerate the digestive system
  9. Try this: Fly 410km/h, retract gears. Fly 390km/h, retract gears. :) As expected an excess in speed can prohibit the gear to function properly. ( maybe the dragforce is so great that the tiny wee little system can't oppose this force to raise the landing gear )
  10. it is possible... fly at 10.000 ft, at 600km/h ( or whatever constant speed ABOVE stall speed), she'll fly straight as an arrow... As expected, with constant parameters she will fly a constant path. If only one change in parameters occurs ( pitch, speed, density, humidity, temperature, anything ) then this is sufficient to alter the flight path/attitude. As to how much this should ( in terms of realism ) I don't know, but it's definitely possible to fly level! ----------------------------------------------------------------- When taxiing though I haven't yet managed to tip her over as opposed to the F-15, then again their respective gear are entirely different to one-another. Belly landings are great fun, can be done cleanly on leveled ground IE runways, but on terrain it's quite tricky as out of nowhere bumps would appear causing sudden death..
  11. No offense intended, but this was my method to finding specific results to your question. Google : How to perform Cobra maneuver. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pugachev's_Cobra There is no script on how to perform it, there is parameters that will give you a guideline. This + your personal "feeling" so to say will result into you doing a "more or less" proper cobra maneuver.
  12. The Su-27 in my honest opinion has so far the most interesting and complex flight model. I love it! If you fly her well, she'll perform miraculously well, though as soon as you get yourself in a difficult position I.E. stalls mixed with loss of control or engine shut-off it's REALLY hard to get out of if you're not flying at appropriate altitudes. Enforcing realism! More than delighted with the results. ---------------------------------------------------- Is it me or did I notice significant changes in the damage model as well? Got hit by 120C, in a single player mission, some shrapnel hit my nose, air brake broke off, few holes here & there, and it actually felt like it flew accordingly
  13. The mode of Direct Control, ( 'S' button ) is really interesting, activating as long as you're pulling on the stick will keep you from pitching violently down. Pulling is alright, but when it's time to push back down it's hard not to overshoot resulting in a violent dive towards the ground if not ending in an inverted spin, or "black-out" more of a red-out actually...
  14. Entered an AI su-27 with the Ralt+J command, it was flying it's own course, and as soon as I hopped in, I instantly started spinning around the pitch axis causing it to crash...
  15. scratch that, keeping it pressed, then moving the joystick is like an extra axis specifically for trim.
  16. What I've noticed so far, while bringing up the control indicator with Rctrl + Enter As I keep the trimmer pressed down it forces lock on the current position of the controls. I can then move the controls to any desired position without it actually having any effect up to releasing the trimmer where it will take the current input
  17. I understand, whenever I add throttle that the nose will slightly pitch up. But this much?
  18. I think the S button just shuts the G-limiter, basically "unclipping you" with wild input to point your nose any direction you want. Provided you can control the bird --------- DO NOT try to fly inverted lol.
  19. For some reason I can't get mine faster than 1160-ish km/h without difficulty on a level flight inverted flat spins everywhere...
  20. in the SFM module of the su-27 whenever crosswind's involved engaging autopilot reacts oddly and can be a very brutal transition. As for the AFM, the oscillation is sustained instead of slowly stabilizing...
  21. Hello pilots! Saw the updated model of the su-27 was available on the open-beta so went and downloaded it asap! Lots of us have been waiting for quite a while now post your first impressions! I'll just start with the take-off, rolling down the runway feels really slippy, and once you're airborne it's pretty hard to keep her stable! I feel like she wants to pull away constantly! As for the lovely S button allowing the "cobra" maneuver, try it at your own risk :p impressive and very hard to keep align. Does anyone know if the manual has been updated?
  22. Downloading the beta, CAN'T WAIT to try this out !!! insane downloading speeds which is awesome!
  23. AWESOME! Found me the perfect thread! My keywords did not lead me there.. Thanks a lot ! +1 -------------- Yeah am a little steam newbie... Just missed the sale on DCS, so took advantage of Steam's Halloween! Thanks all
  24. Hey there !! Sorry to Hijack this from you OP :p, Neil would you be able to message me some more info on how to do this please? I have 2 steam modules on steam I would like to simply move to my non steam DCS World folder... Somehow activating my steam version into the simple DCS world UI from ED Hope you can help :) thanks!
  25. Oh my, said I'd stop flying until I have assembled my new rig and until the 27pfm comes out. Looks like I better hurry up assembling :p
