Version: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2257837#post2257837 Are you sure it isn't available? I can not join any server, and if that isn't the specific update, then none beyond the current install I have. I have tried regular command line update 1.2.12 aswell which ended up with no result.

I'll try to keep it short and not mention all the troubles I've gone through with the updater.exe hehe I'd like to know if it were possible to release the patches on the DCS website. Which would give me an alternative to struggle for hours and hours and end up re-installing everything every single time when a patch comes out. The full release of DCS module WORLD is always updated to the latest release, it would be nice to see a separate "follow-up" update file aswell. ( ideally simply storing all the releases ) IMHO the current updater is too easily corrupted and unreliable.

Yet again... the updater fails to update my game. The full re-install was as recent as version: 1.2.12.34915.571 Antivirus Avast off. Malware byte off. IIRC I've read around the forums that lower RAM timings work very well with DCS. To help you in finding an answer to your question, I suppose the easiest thing to do is: Run DCS with current Ram config. Note Fps. switch Ram modules and try again. Note Fps. As for the results you should expect I have no clue, but it should be easy enough to test that out if you have 20~ or so minutes to spare. ( posting the results can always be interesting aswell. ) Easy as 1.2.3 :) good luck!

This as a general guideline is true, yet the trade-offs seem a little unworthy to me. 970 has lower TDP, power consumption, in my experience: extremely cool, silent, and a scaringly good overclocker. This and it's a more "recent" model, which I hope will prove to be more reliable in terms of age and performance. This alone was enough for me personally to forget about the 780ti, and opt for future upgrade to SLI 970, which has proven to be very adequate. I've heared some rumors about a GTX 960 coming out. May be worth taking a look at it. It supposedly should strike the very sweet spot between price/performance. ( even more so than the 970. ) I would agree to postponing as much as you can, but if we all waited for that to upgrade or buy a new PC we'd probably still be running pentiums dual core, with 4Gb ram? Overall find the bottleneck of your PC and try to work around that as a baseline. Upgrading GPU in a case where your CPU bottlenecks the entire system due to age, is an utter waste of funds. EDGE will have to run on todays technology, so either way upgrading will be beneficial. ( Additionally your PC will most likely not exclusively run DCS, think about all the other software or uses you have.

If there's something wrong with it, find out what it is, report it providing transcripts or explain with additional sources. Have you set the parameters, rules of engagements, difficulty correctly etc? Post a new thread specific to the "bug" you have identified and pursue your discussion. ( you will have more chances of devs reading this, and actually doing a favor to the community ) Offensive language is not required even if sometimes the sim can be somewhat frustrating. "mostly about modern air combat" ... As far as I can tell that is incorrect. Based on everything ED has brought up to the table. Even if you look at the roadmap you'll see that an equal amount of content if not more(!), actually concerns non-modern air combat. P-51, BF109, and pretty much all the other WW2 modules bound to come out (soon?). In all it's imperfections DCS has proven to be a solid base for the aviation simulation. And seems so far to be miles ahead of any consumer product available on the market. (excluding professional simulators for exclusive military use. ( which even so has been said to be terrible in terms of graphics compared to DCS. )

Considering your join date I suppose you tried : Rctrl + Enter to check trim controls if the cursor actually moves with the trim? if not then check keybinding Have you selected the right profile? if so, TRIM MORE....:joystick: else, try repairing using the command line dcs_updater.exe repair 1.2.12. Backup saved games file, delete, and let DCS World recreate it? or last resort re-install the modules.

DCS_updater.exe succesfully updated! :dunno:
JulienBlanc replied to JulienBlanc's topic in Installation Problems
I did backup :), although everything seems to be corrupted anyway, since it'll constantly give me the "error 404" with even the most basic instructions such as repair... quite frustrating.. Thanks a lot for the help! -

DCS_updater.exe succesfully updated! :dunno:
JulienBlanc replied to JulienBlanc's topic in Installation Problems
And now: DCS_updater.exe update 1.2.11 gives me the "404 error" 1.2.12 still loads up the wrong version... ------------------------------------- Extra: Actually only the purchased and installed separate module icons indicate 1.2.12. Su-25T IE, and other modules remain at 1.2.11 -
DCS_updater.exe succesfully updated! :dunno:
JulienBlanc replied to JulienBlanc's topic in Installation Problems
The DCS updater provides the error "Unknown module World", with the following command: bin>DCS_updater.exe install World It leaves no trace in the autoupdate_templog Still threw in another update, just in case, yet no improvements unfortunately -
Downloaded the update 1.2.12 something something through the DCS_updater ( ofc admin ), told me it had successfully updated, yet launches the 1.2.11... Soo then I went on and deleted the \local\temp\dcs\ folder, tried it again. first reverted to 1.2.11, no problem, then update 1.2.12. Again message: 1.2.12 successfully installed. Launch the game again... STILL 1.2.11......... \ Repeated the process, with Antivirus disabled. still 1.2.11..... although the module Icons I own, say 1.2.12, the right lower corner indicates 1.2.11. And equally, trying to enter an updated 1.2.12 server notifies me with the "connection interrupted". --- Log file: C:\Users\Kira\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS\autoupdate_templog.txt === Log opened UTC 2014-12-04 20:48:33 INFO : DCS_Updater/2.4.3.62 (Windows NT 6.1.7601; Win64; fr-FR) INFO : cmdline: dcs_updater.exe update 1.2.12 STATUS: Initializing... INFO : Got reply from updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com === Log closed. ' This is the last log. Including a second log with me throwing another desperate DCS_updater.exe update 1.2.12 at it. Notice the change in the info? Have rebooted... still 1.2.11 lower right corner. Have used the repair tool Have updated drivers... I'm out of ideas guys... I can't spend my time downloading the entity of files and modules over and over again.... Looking forward to your advice!

Rshift+Rctrl all the keys on your numpad allows you to reposition in-game. Ralt + num( 0 ) will save your current position. Easy enough work around :) once set, these will save for your multiplayer server.

Autopilot: ONLY altitude stabilization?
JulienBlanc replied to Rhinox's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
The "H" doesn't do it ^^', exactly as described it locks the direction as well. Banking to one side will cause a violent counteraction from the auto-pilot to bring it back on track. Post a track and report it as a bug :) -
It doesn't force our hands, but any input beyond the limiter is neglected. So no we can't hold it full aft... If I understood this correctly. That's where the S button kicks in, to allow the input to exactly correspond to what you want it to do. Allowing for these said "ultra hardcore beyond 50% deflection" causing severe G's to occur and severe speed loss.
-
Since the update, changing your name in multiplayer sessions is no longer possible? It plays windows error sounds with each input I'm trying to give.

I was just testing about with the missiles in this mission, I noticed something off in the path of the last R-73. Fired the R-73 with an HMS lock, immediately unlocked the target, the missile tracked the target and as they pulled up, it performed quite an odd maneuver. Track Other than that; Lights are still on when gear is up ( already posted I saw ) Quite the effort to spin her back on her belly when she's stalled out like that. I'm not sure I've figured out how exactly, but the altitude loss is terrifying. Furthermore, the first 73 I launched did not track at all. While the second I didn't expect to track, suddenly did. Is this because in the first shot it could not acquire an EOS signal? which would explain that firing an ET with a radar lock, yet without EOS enabled the missile would not track at all either

exactly my point...

I'm not :D have you read the post " twice " yourself? ;) edited accordingly. If you wish ANY follow-up on any bug report, the correct format is required. Moderators can't spend their day going around posts saying "reported internally/externally already" after each and everyone of us reports something(the same?) unconventional. > Creating a new thread for each individual bug. ( is one of the requirements. ) as it is easier to find.

It's still in BETA! The open-Beta was probably to make sure there were no game-breaking bugs/crashes that would affect everyone. It is now released to public, with still a few imperfections but no major crashes. They'll fix it, give it time. There is a FORMAL and PRECISE way to post a bug. What you've written is useless to note in this format. Why bother with new animations if the new rendering engine is JUST ABOUT to come out? WAIT and see AFTER the release of DCS 2.0 75% eng..... : Yes. The nozzles close giving a great addition in power. Just put some thrust in, and reduce it as you strafe along the runway. Flaps: Yup the flaps cause drag, around the axis inducing a pitch down motion. Putting the flaps up releases this pressure and the nose rises. ( construction based ) The spins, no comment. Post it in a proper way if it hasn't already. They did update a variety of things! I don't recall the lights showing up ( Ralt + L ) in the open-beta, while they do now. ----- edited accordingly ;)

Even so the wire could cause damage to the a/c :) so agreed on that point!

Deploying the chute in mid-air, shouldn't even cross your mind in the first place. Secondly, it being available to the pilot gives him a tool. For whatever situation the pilot feels the chute to be deployed in the air, it shouldn't keep him from doing so. Now from a realistic point of view, I thought I had read something about there being no such " security check " somewhere.. To be confirmed.

Update 1.2.11 Available for non beta version!
JulienBlanc replied to JulienBlanc's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
The command prompt did not work for me, did a fresh install, even through the module manager: 1.2.11.33xxxxx is not available. Through CMD Dcs_updater.exe update no update detected, does nothing or, launches outdated version by default. Through CMD Dcs_updater.exe update 1.2.11 1.2.11 is not available. Downloading the modules individually for the fresh install from the website as these links DO work.
