  1. Sorry for the mission file, I just forgot that i had put 1 aircraft from another mod, so now the mission contain only the mod we are talking about.... I have take a look at the picture above, and that's right, multiple shhoting range, on a slow moving target...an can you confirm that the missile hit the target ? I experienced some aborting shots with missiles exploding just few seconds after departures (3 minutes after start in the new track file) you said that I was expecting the S300 to overperform on a slow moving bomber (B52) flying at 3000ft straight in direct to the S300 MPU2 at 40 km......over water....with a missile that can shoot a target at 200km.....by the way I was not able to reproduce the same situation on this new track / miz file....(If you can download the "Military aircraft mod" you may be able see what I mean with my previous miz file) on the other hand, this new mission file is interresting, the fast moving targets have been shoot down like expected, but maybe "I think" to much near from the differents sites, like I said earlier with missiles able to shoot targets from 200 to 250 km (S300 MPU2 et S300VM). But two aircraft, 1 B1B et 1 B52 were able to approche these site below 50 km....for the B1B, maybe because it's a fast moving bomber, but not so good at manouvering...and the B52 finaly shot down at about 50 km, just look at the mission file... It's just a hyphothesis, but I think maybe all the differents sites have limited fire control radar performance...I just discover that there are some big differences between the radar performance of the 1L13 EWR and 55G6 EWR and the data descriptions in the encyplopadia.... In the game the two radar cannot detect anything above 100 km whatever the type of the target (fighter, bomber, transport aircraft...), or in the encyclopedia these two radar are far better than this, it's "SKYNET" that let me discover this. I made some tests, and every time the target must be within 100km of these radar in order to be "detected" in Skynet process...If you use an S300 SR to act like an EW radar, then the range is far higher.... Ok I totally agree with your analysis of the fonctionnality of these systems in an integrated air defence system, and as you said, they are covering areas full of ground units needing an large air defence to operate...but upgrading a system and still engaging target at the same distance than before has no interest ( maybe it's relatied to the S300 DCS version), but I read somewhere that's a system like the S400 (another S300 upgrade) was intended to shoot down AWACS far away from the battlefield, so to enforce a 200++km no-fly zone around them........ you were right about my mission and the trajectories i created for my fighters, so i modified it a little to take in count your elements, and to make it a more demonstrative mission: Maybe it's me, but a thing that i saw is that all these systems are only firing below 100km, whatever the aspect angle or altitude or type of the target.... I think that's strange for missiles with a range around between 200 et 250 km (SA20B et SA23....) In the last part of the mission you can now see that there is a problem with a system like the SA20B not firing at a B52H flying straight inbound the site untill is reaching a distance about 40 km from the site at an altitude above 1000 m....You cannot say that's a good behavior for a SA20B...   3. Hi LetMePickTha To answer your question, I was referring to the S300 PS from ED,not from the mod....and of course i'm using the main version of the mod. So to be clear about what i was expecting from this mod, an upgrade / better version of the original S300 version, with a better acquisition range and a bigger kill zone....but that not the case....to demonstrate the problem i created a simple mission with 2 aircrafts flying along the Caucasus coast with different S300 model along this coast....the 2 aircraft are of course entering the kill area of these S300.... result: 1 aborting shot from the SA23 at about 100km....and nothing else....see by yourself... mission_Test_SAM_S300_SKYNET.trk SU27_CAUCASE_ESSAI-3.miz
  4. Hi, I will like to revive this topic because i experienced the same bug for a long time now....and the 2.7 version is not changing anything.... For the history, first of all i used to play on the 2.5.6 stable version, only on single player, and I was trying to create complex missions with the mission editor.... and the bug was already there.... in patrol of AI aircrafts flying low level in fighting wings formation...sometime one or two of the aircraft of the patrol are just exploding inflight and just below, on ground and at the same time you've got some debris like the aircraft was just crashing on the ground....( look at the screen shots) I tried different patrol, aircraft, trajectories, and mission and sometimes the bug disappear, sometimes the bug is still there with variety in position and time.... the problem is the same on the Caucasus map or on the Syrian map I decided to install a fresh install of the OB 2.7 version to experienced the new clouds and the new features in the mission editor....and surprise...the bug is still there....so i brought some stuff to illustrate my problem : In my mission, the bug appeared at about 1 hour after the start of the mission (7 Am) on a Mig21 bis patrol flight....the second Mig 21 is exploding in flight for no reason... mission_Su27_25-05-2021.trk mission_Su27_25-05-2021.log some pictures to illustrate my post:
  5. Same for me, using it with Skynet, radar is going on, looking at the targets but no actions.....I put all the S300 types, but the only one that react as intended is the original (the DCS one)....
  6. I created a mission in order to experiment the new Su27 PFM, but i experimented some strange behavior. In my first track, i perform a straight in acceleration, once 1200 kph reached, i pull up to gain almost 80° of climb..... the climb is normal, speed is going down normaly but at almost 8000 feet, the engine RPM fall quickly to 20%, throttle is not responding anymore, the Su27 is going in a flat stall state, falling, upside down.....it happens a second time when joining Mig at medium altitude, i pass them and when i try to speed down using my stick, i entered the same state.... In the second track, i was wondering why a lot of aircraft trying to land on an airfield were performing some dive into the ground, without crashing (about 50' after mission start)....and for me, performing an approach, contacting the tower, resquesting "Inbound", then "resquest landing", being authorized to land....landing on the airfield, speed down, authorized to taxi to apron, i went to the communication menu, and i discover that i am still in "inbound", my only option is "abort Inbound"......   7. Iglas (SA18) or Stinger are modern very short anti aircraft systems, they are equip with counter CME, that means they are able to distinguish the differences between flares and exhaust. That's why if you are lock on, and in range, the kill ratio is very high. The best way to avoid it is to release preventing flares, the purpose of this operation is only to make the lock on difficult for the SAM launcher. it's hard for the SAM launcher to be sure he's system is lock on you and not on the flares when he's got you in his sight.
