HI Currenthill I have a question for you, it is not related to your mods, they are working very well and i have no problem with them, but i need your "expertise" on mods about a problem i have... I tried to make an old mod to be working with the last OB but DCS was still crashing Some one knows what it means when you've got that kind of message in DCS log: 2023-11-26 00:56:12.292 ALERT Dispatcher (Main): Error running db_scan: ?:0: attempt to concatenate a nil value 2023-11-26 00:56:12.292 INFO APP (Main): application shutdown 2023-11-26 00:56:12.309 WARNING EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManager::Create() doesn't exist. What is it referring to ? what part of the mod is wrong or not correct for the last OB ? -

There are some incompatibilities between the S300 Pack and the last update of the HDS pack. My DCS game was unable to start, i had to modify some files of the S300 Pack to keep the best of the two mods. -

Hi CurrentHill, I have no doubts that your mods are working well on your computer, but for some people like me, that's not the case. Maybe because i use a lot of different mods...some of yours and some of Admiral189 or hawkeye60 and much more...maybe too much...for that reason all my missions are corrupted. For example, i tried to create a simple mission with the Mi24, taking off from a pad with some tanks and armored vehicule to protect it, a small navigation with some infantrys and humvees as targets...two fleets with modded ships and standard ships. Result.....no ships in game, only one anti aircraft vehicule in the group whose was protecting the pad (1 of 7) and only 2 infantry (JTAC and JTAC commander) in the enemy group (1 of 10).... That's strange, because i though only modded assets would be affected by the update, but no, DCS assets are affected also....or maybe affected by modded assets. Seems that your mod "PGL-625" was the cause of all my troubles -

Harms are targeting radars, so moving launchers or truck while radars are not is not interesting... The best configuration is to uncheck the "intercept incoming missile" option from the SA10 and put some SA15 arround with this option "on" and activated by trigger when Harms arround.....like in real life...might be "Pansir" in real life... -

Hi every one, here another batch of updated "wake files" from Admiral189's works: Madrid_Maersk.lods.ship_wake Allure of the Seas.lods.ship_wake CMA_CGM_Jacques_Saade.lods.ship_wake CPL_Shipping_Line.lods.ship_wake EVER_APEX.lods.ship_wake Feeder_Ship.lods.ship_wake LNG_Tanker.lods.ship_wake LNG_Tanker_Mozah.lods.ship_wake CMA_CGM_Benjamin.lods.ship_wake CSCL_Star_Shipping.lods.ship_wake For this last one, i needed to rename some files of the "shapes" folder and you will need also to replace this file CSCL_Star_Shipping.lods As I was working on them, i found 2 problems, first on "the Allure of the Seas" mod, the center of the ship is not aligned with the wake file: Second, on the "MS CSCL star Shipping" mod, there are lights in the water on the right side of the ship about 500 m: CPL_Shipping_Line.lods.ship_wake -

simple aerodynamics rules, very high altitude lesser drag....try the same mission at low altitude and you will see the missile losing more energy when turning inbound target.... -

Hi Admiral189, I was creating two new "wake" files for the USS Bowen and the USS Kidd.... USS Bowen FF-1079.lods.ship_wake USS KIdd DD-993.lods.ship_wake ...when i found some thing strange arround the USS Kidd, don't know what it is...for your future update of the ship. -

Hi Admiral189, I like realism, so i decided to update / create the Wake files of two of your ships, the "Tarantul corvette" and the "USS Bainbridge CG-25". I intended to update some more, but i read that you are in the process of updating your old ships (USS Constellation and USS Kidd), so tell me if you prefer doing it yourself, or if my (little) work will let you gain time. HI @currenthil, May be I was not clear, i said "I" was trying to land on that ship, not the AI. So I try to send an AI KA-27 to land fisrt on the project 20831 then on the project 22350...I follow him with my own UH60 to do the same.... As you can see, the AI is landing in the center...for this example the wind is coming from ahead. then me...as you can imagine landing a chopper on a moving ship is not easy as it may seem. so I was not perfect and land ahead and on the right side of the landing zone....no "contact" problem. than the project 22350, first AI...the wind is coming trom the right...the AI is landing on the left side of the landing pad...but no "contact" problem... But as soon as his trying to start is engine he slipped from the deck and reappeared on the water....thanks to the emergency buoyancy, is floating on the water... then me...I touched on the right side of the landing zone, I think my right gear was on the outer circle and I banked on the right and fell though the deck I think that the "landing zone" of the Frigate is too small...but it's just my thinking. -

Hi @currenthill, I had some problems with two of your mods, first with Project 22350 as i tried to land a chopper on it and i fell though the deck every time....with 2 differents helicopters (KA50 III and UH60) Second with SA350, when put in a mission, when looking in their direction or looking at the LN assets, my FPS are dropping from 60 to 20....don't know why... By the way, wery impressive mods, all of them -

solved First Crash After Last Update 24.07.2023

Thanks for this advice, i tried everything you mentioned in this thread, but no change, same crash....so i thought it is mod related as you had said. I took a look on the DCS log and at the crash itself. first, i reproduced the crash 3 times and it occured every time at the same moment, with only one action in progress...a ship shooting at an aircraft with guns and the game freezed at the momment the first bullet impacted water... Second, i found numerous DX11BACKEND WARNING refering to a file named "glass.hlsl", which is part of "TAZ1004 Clear Glass" mod I found also numerous error EFFECTS2 referring to an another file named "shiptrail.lua" which is part of "TAZ1004 Better Smoke" mod I removed the two mods and....miracle...all is working fine like before the update, i also recovered the ship trails and wake. Something may have changed in the update, because the 2 mods were active before the update and was working fine... Edit: The thread from TAZ1004 about better smoke mod confirm the problem linked to impact of bullet on water. He solved the problem in V21 -

it seems that i have the same problem after the last update.... I don't know if this is related, but I was playing as a spectator, to enjoy the show i created, but now for some reason, all the ships on the sea don't have any trails or wakes....while there were some on every ships before the last update.... dcs.log No VR settings enable for me. -

Just an advice if you want to use a laptop (I'm using one) to run DCS. Before buying one, you'll have to check the power supply. It's important, whatever the graphic card, the processor or the memories onboard....I mean, a laptop with an 3080 graphic card and a power supply below 300 Watt won't be effective (actually you may find laptop with less than 200W)...you'll get maybe all the new RTX features but about performance, that will be far away from what you may expect. To be clear, a 3080 on a desktop PC with a good I7 or I9 processor need around 600-700W to run smothly (300-400 W for the 3080 and 150-250 W for the processor) , knowing this, with 300W (or even 200W) on a laptop you may expect to have around 70-90 W for the Processeur (mobile one) and 100 to 150W for the graphic card, so a big hit on performance. That's why a lots of people prefer desktop to laptop Another thing is the heat problem....slim laptop are not suitable for runing big 3D games like DCS, they will overheat and downgrade the performance or simply crash. Check all the manufacturer, there are a lot of customizable "desktop laptop" design available. For example I used an EUROCOM Sky X9 laptop for about 6 years with an GeForce 980 (desktop version) and an I7 6700K, runing DCS with lots of planes and vehicules and graphics around high with 25 - 50 FPS most of the time, not extraordinary but it's a 6 YEAR Laptop. To be honest, even if this laptop was VR Ready, the VR with this laptop was not suitable to enjoy a flight (knowing that DCS is not really optimised yet for VR)
