  1. I've got Mikes book " building simulated aircraft instrumentation" and I definatly WILL be buying this new book to.. "virtual" rep to Mike Powell (dunno if he's a member on this forum)
  2. Just a thought... Isn't it possible to set the rudder axis as two half axis with "flat end" from 0 to 55% on one and another with "flat end" from 45 to 100%? Something like this?
  3. I prorgammed it as a HIT-RELEASE at first, but now it's programmed as a DrirectX input (hold function). Haven't noticed much difference though?
  4. Where did you get that HUGE toggle switch with safety lock for your Flaps? Drool...!
  5. the angle is set by the end panels mate. My plan for the panel as a whole is to first glue all sides and fronts together, ignoring the gaps and minor flaws that come from sawing. And the cover it all with a couple of layers of fibreglass to bring structural strength and gap-filling. then I'll sand all sides and fronts smooth with a belt sander, add some filler to the holes in the fibreglass, and THEN cut out the openings for the panels. I might just skip cutting out holes for the panels all together. Depending on what is more practical. He he.. 'dunno mate..? I guess not being married gives me some time to spare.. I just enjoy doing it so much I spend (to much) time on it I guess.. Cool.. Give us pictures..! With me being on my sailing trip untill the 17th you'll be way ahead of me in your progress.. Pics Pics Pics:thumbup:
  6. Guys guys guys..! No more talking about "highjacking" the thread.. This is OUR thread and as such can not be highjacked..
  7. I think the only way to achieve this (as of right now) is by conytrolling the lights through a secondary software (like SIOC for Opencockpits cards). What type IO card do you use?
  8. Hey guys. I'm off sailing on the East coast of Sweden right now. But I'll try to reply whatever I can tonight. 'Dunno when I'll be in a harbour with internet next time. PS. The coast outside Stockholm is a just gorgeous..!
  9. This is for you my friend.!
  10. LMAO..:megalol: That has got to be the best coment EVER..!
  11. Here you are my friend.. c",)
  12. You actually made the understand the Flare dispenser
  13. Pitbuilding Update - 31 July 2009 - Started work on right wall panel I am starting to feel the need for some more switches to play with. So here I go..!
  14. I know mate.. I know.. But I also know you..! And knowing you I know it will be GOOD..! And I know I should be patient, but I don't know how I'm supposed to know how to be? Because as you said you know you will be presenting something GODD..! If you know what I mean...:music_whistling:
  15. ... allthough the IBoard does look awfully tempting to... Aaargh..!
  16. I'm sticking with Opencockpits. I know that they might seem complicated but with one mastercard being capable of 64 digital outputs, 72 digital inputs and still have a spare bus for 7-segment displays. And the USB expansion card it's the most versatile and adaptable system for the price.? 2 mastercards ( 144 inputs of your own choise. Rotaty encoder, switch, push-buttons, proximity sensor, whatever) (128 outputs. LEDs, relays, whatever) 1 USB expansion card (holds up to 4 mastercards and has 4 analouge axis for HOCAS) Price: 200USD And with these you can hook up servos , stepper motors through add on cards.
  17. BRILLIANT..! I love it..! Actually I love it so much I'm making a breakoutboard for the other card based on your idea..!
  18. Most likely I'll be making them in some kind of resin.. I have no eperience with molding soft plastic.. I was thinking in line of making a small form, and pouring colored epoxy glue arround a small LED. So that I can get that soft inner glow from the "V" shape in the buttons. The frame I've just buildt up from layers of 4mm plastic sheet, and added a thin high-gloss sheet on top to get the right look. Those "foamy" plastic sheets are just brilliant for stuff like this, because they are easy to cut and sand. Maybe I'll post some pictures tomorrow, but now it's bedtime .. G'nite guys..;)
  19. naaaw..! Highjack all you want guys.. I find your coments a lot more interesting than mine anyway.. ... and definatly a whole lot more funnier.. :megalol:
  20. I was thinking the same, but then I rembered the KISS rule.. :music_whistling: So here's what I did: The LCD Control panel is attached to the backside of the Front Panel, and 3x1,5mm machine screws rest on all the microswitches through holes in the front panel: All the screws will be cut and filed down so they are (almost) flush with the front of the panel. After some fine grit sanding and a layer or two of dull paint you'll have a hard time even noticing they are there. The only thing that stand out is the IR reciever for the remote control (if I should be so lucky and remember where the H*LL I put it one day..!?)
  21. A matrix..?... Now you got my attention..! I'll be sitting here patiently waiting for your pictures mate.. Guess what I got today...!? Yes..! The components for the FFB amplifier units.. FINALLY..! .. dunno why I ordered these.. they should have been 10K Ohm.. .. and these should have been 0,5 Ohm, not 0,1 Ohm.. 22nF capasitors 100nF Capasitors fast switch diodes (BYW98 on the schematics) 220nF capasitors 'dunno what to do with these.. They should have been 15K Ohm, not 15 Ohm. A bigger breadboard for testing. and finally the créme de'la créme.. The L6203 Chip that hopefully will save the day.. So Alex..? Get on GMT+1 ASAP and let's fry some chips..! I've got replacement resistors for the ones I ordered wrong BTW..
  22. exactly what is wrong with it? is it the potmeter that is busted? Or the electronic Printed circuit board? Potmeters are quite easy to replace, but the Pcb.. Well, you know..
  23. LoL.. But Alex, you forget.. We don't know how to make the bl**dy things from scratch like you do..? I've seen the stuff your working on, and a keyboard card is just one nights work for you..:smartass:
  24. My pit is there?
  25. Hey Alex.. I just got home late last night to find that i'm still missing the parts I ordered (resistors, capasitors and stuff). I did get the Diodes, and a bigger breadboard for testing..? I'll give ELFA a call and ask what the holdup is? Added: I gave them a call, and it turns out the package has been waiting for me at the postoffice all this time. I'm off now to pick it up..!
