  1. There have been a few occasions lately when my right engine will shutdown. The aircraft is in straight and level flight.....nothing in particular is happening. The right engine will shut down and cannot be restarted. I tried reassigning the throttle control so that the left throttle will control both engines but that didn't solve the issue. There have been times when I've had trouble starting the right engine as well. This has never happened with the left engine. I follow the start up checklist from the manual exactly. Any suggestions are appreciated.
  2. Thank you
  3. Does anyone have a SU25T skin in US colors/markings that they would be willing to share?
  4. Ragtag Air Corps. http://rtac.weebly.com/ Like Boris said, take a look at Ragtag Air Corps. Great group of people from all over. We'd love to have you.
  5. Copied with permission from the HOVERCONTROL forum (http://www.hovercontrol.com) I wrote a letter asking Thrust master to make a new Helicopter Joystick Based on a current HOTAS Warthog Joystick. If they receive enough emails they will make a new product line that will include cyclic, pedals and collective that you can mount to what you want. 6. Flew my first mission with RAGTAG last night and I had a blast. I like the atmosphere...good people. Looking forward to future missions.
  7. This is the mission: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/59524/ Using it in 1.2.7
  8. I downloaded an AAR mission. When I attempt to contact the Tanker, its not available on the radio menu. I have the right frequency set on my VHF AM. Tacan is working. I have another AAR mission where the tanker is available and all works well. I checked the mission in the mission editor and the correct frequency is entered. What am I doing wrong?
  9. While searching for basic dog fighting instruction, I came across these videos on another forum. I am hopelessly ignorant regarding strategy and tactics and found these helpful. http://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/10709-dogfighting-instructional-videos/ I hope they may be of help to other dog fight noobs as well.
  10. I know how you feel. But I have to tell you, I spent some time trying to learn the details of the radar system. After I was able to get a better understanding, the AI opponents became much easier. Human opponents in multiplayer is another story. I feel like an idiot in MP.
  11. The fact that I'm actually interested in the discussion regarding the metric system tells me why I was the last kid in High School to get bell bottoms. Nobody under 50 will get that.......
  12. Thanks for the suggestions.
  13. I've read many, many posts regarding the avoidance of SAMS and I think I've seen every YouTube video (much thanks to all). However, I must be missing something. Often during a mission I encounter multiple SAMS en route. If I attack them, I won't have enough weapons left to complete the mission objectives. I have tried to avoid them by circumnavigation, but many times that strategy takes me WAY off course.....so much so that the strategy becomes impractical. I'm sick of getting shot down (I HATE IT and I HATE SAMS). What strategy should I be employing when just trying to stay on course and get to my assigned waypoint? Also, is there a strategy to help avoid being shot down by fighter planes? I've been getting shot down frequently in MP by fighters. Sorry for the stupid questions but I've only got about 50 hrs. in the aircraft and I'm getting very frustrated. I can handle time in the pit practicing refueling, etc. I just feel like I'm taking the absolute wrong approach regarding SAMS. I don't know what to practice in that regard. Any help is appreciated.
  14. I think for the most part I have it figured out. However, since the taxi/parking lines are somewhat different than what I am used to in western airports, I was wondering if anyone had a diagram or some type of explanation regarding ramp/taxi procedures so that I'm sure I'm getting this right.
  15. Thanks for the suggestions. That didn't take long.
  16. Old guy, new to DCS World....many years of flight sim (mostly civilian helicopters).....I'm addicted to DCS......its bad....I have a problem.....but I can handle it.....I can quit anytime I want.....really...... Anyway.....I need some advice regarding targets. There have been times recently during multiplayer (no wing man) when I've come across a cluster of AAA (hidden on map). I get a visual on the target based on the tracers. (I'm not a fan of labels and try to avoid them although used them in the beginning). I want to target the AAA. A gun run would be suicide. What I've done is create an overhead mark, egress the area and set up one of my Mavericks. As I make my way back to the Mark point, I scan the area with the TGP. That's where my problem comes in, since the Mark point isn't exactly on their location, its very difficult to acquire the targets. I've developed a much better eye for spotting targets than when I began, but it is taking WAY TOO long to find the targets. There must be a better way. I've tried triangulation with SAMS but haven't had any great success with that either as far as acquiring the targets in a timely manner. I may just need more practice....... Any suggestions are appreciated.
  17. Thanks for that video. Now I can't wait for the Nevada scenery. It would be cool to have an AI ground crew salute after start up.
  18. At this point I've given up on the software. The controllers work great. I was hoping to turn the lights down on the throttle a little. I can live with things the way they are. I had CH products for years and never really used the CH Manager except for calibration so, its no big deal. Thank you to everyone for taking time out to read and make suggestions.
  19. The solution didn't work for me. The controls are brand new. They work great. The TARGET software crashes.
  20. For those that may be interested. SOLUTION from Thrustmaster: "Make sure that you have the latest version of .Net Framework 4.0 installed along with Visual C++ Redistributable 2005, 2008, 2010 corresponding to your version of OS (and you should also try and install both the 32 and 64 bits version)." I had .Net 4.0 and Visual C++ 2012.
  21. I tried that.....no good. Thanks for the suggestion.
  22. Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not running anything else. Thrustmaster had me check to be sure I'm running .net Framework 4.0 or better which I am. Other than that they basically told me that it was my problem. I know I'm not the only one with the issue. I love the Warthog stick and throttle but I am very disappointed in the tech support. All I want to do is turn down the throttle lights a little and explore the software a little. Thanks again for the suggestion.
  23. I've recently installed the TARGET software. However, whenever I attempt to start it, I get an Unhandled Exception Error. I've reinstalled a few times. I discovered a thread wherein a solution was found by copying UIAutomationcore.dll over to the Target X64 folder but that didn't work for me. I've contacted TM Tech Support but I'm not sure how long it will be before I get an answer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  24. I have version 1.2.7. When I bring up OPTIONS/A10C SIM to assign settings, not all of the categories can be changed. I can double click in some of them and make whatever assignments I want. There are many (mostly HOTAS) that are light blue in color rather than the darker blue and nothing happens when I double click. In some categories, I can double click and open the dialogue window but it offers no button options when I try to make the assignment. I had a problem with the HUEY in that there was no collective control category in the SIM mode, only GAME mode. Is this a bug in 1.2.7 or am I doing something wrong? Any help is very appreciated.
