Neverending contest (military aviation knowledge)
herig2 replied to Kusch's topic in Military and Aviation
V-22 Osprey -
Play cat and mouse with the launcher until it runs out of missiles. SA-6 has 6, SA-15 (tor) has 8, etc. But if a reload vehicle is near, you have minutes to make your move befor it reloads.

Did it once my self, A teamkill I was proud of. He took off than started to bomb our base, as I sat in the parking area !

With the tracker off, I zoom with the slider on the thottle. Made bands, 1st zoom out 80-100% numberpad 1, 2nd deadzone 0-83%, 3rd zoom in 0-20% numberpad *. Lock On does not support 6dof. Hope this helps.

Just to let you know, tonight I was flying, on 4-27-09, at 7:39 EST the server went off line. There was about 25 min left in the mission. This happen just after I was attacking Red's base, I caught a SU-27 spooling up and hit him with a mav. Also in my payload I went to load the external fuel tank on the A-10, and it said it exceeded the weight. I did not hit add, and assume the tank did not load. But then when I took off I notice the tank was added. Is there a way to pervent a over weight plane from lanching ? I like the 2 min spool up time, It makes me to slow down, and do some cockpit checks. In the past I crash on takeoff, for not checking something stupid, like haveing one engine started, etc.

I hope this is were I can post LRM 2.0 Test Server remarks. I been flying on it for the last week. Its been good, Good FPS and very stable. The mission is great for my A-10. However today 4-22-09, at 2:52 PM EST. When I log on, I'm setting in the cockpit, and a Warning window pops up ( Mission Pauses-Interrupt- ). As I sit there the HUD cycles though its colors. When I hit cancel the window reappears. I had a ping of 135, change the skin to USA Flipper and my # to 17.

If I attack a enemy base and take out the base's POL depot, will that pervent returning aircraft from refueling?

It seems if there are less than three or four lines in the chat, it does not appear. Because of this, other pilots think I am ignoring them or I disappear, when in actuality I am not receiving there chat message. Then I have to press ctrl m, and of course this knocks out all of the inputs. I look in the forums and found the height and delay settings for the chat, has anyone played with these settings so the chat will show if only one line appears?

Jersey City UFO mystery solved: It's another flying 'tooth' by Charles Hack/The Jersey Journal Wednesday February 18, 2009, 8:12 PM Reena Rose Sibayan/The Jersey JournalThe object that fell through the roof of the Al Smith Moving on Pacific Avenue in Jersey City has been identified by police as a part from a mulching machine. For a few hours earlier today an eight-pound chunk of metal that crashed through the roof of a Jersey City warehouse was an unidentified flying object. Theories abounded -- perhaps it was piece of a plane, maybe debris from the recent collision in space between a U.S. satellite and defunct Russian satellite. But Jersey City police solved the case shortly after noon. The metal chunk -- which took 30 minutes to cool after it crashed through the roof of Al Smith Moving at 33 Pacific Ave. at 9:26 a.m. -- turned out to be a missing tooth of a gigantic mulching machine located roughly three football fields away at Reliable Wood Products at 1 Caven Point Avenue, police spokesman Lt. Edgar Martinez said. And it's not the first time in Hudson a tooth flew off a machine and crashed through a roof. The brick-shaped block, which measured 6 x 4 x 2 inches, and had two hexagonal holes at the top, cut through the roof, splintered a beam and fell about 10 feet away from Al Smith, one of two brothers who own the moving and office furniture company. Forklifting a sofa on a rack at the time, Smith said he heard a loud crash and saw the object crash onto shelving. "It sounded like a big explosion. And I didn't know what it was but I see the hole that was in the roof. When I went up on the rack where it landed it was a block of steel," Smith said. "It was an odd thing to happen and I didn't know what to do so I called the police." Smith added he planned to buy a lottery ticket since it must be his lucky day. Reena Rose Sibayan/The Jersey JournalPolice respond to a call at Al Smith Moving at 33 Pacific Ave. in Jersey City where an unidentified object fell through the roof. Today's flying mulching machine tooth is not the first time a mechanical part has caused a scare in Hudson County. In July 2007, a 10-pound tooth from an industrial wood grinder at the former Military Ocean Terminal in Bayonne broke off and flew a half-mile over the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail and Route 440 before tearing through a house roof on Avenue E, narrowly missing a man inside. Then in October, 2008, a 30-pound blade that flew off a land-clearing vehicle a quarter-mile away smashed into a rental car at a U.S. Postal Service bulk mail facility on County Road in Jersey City. The tooth that caused today's UFO scare came from a trailer-sized grinder, which is used to chop wood down to chip-size piece, said Reliable Wood Products Vice President Eugene Ciarkowski. Ciarkowski, who said has it never happened at their facility before, said the operator did not notice because of the din created by the powerful diesel engine and grinding wood. "This is a freak event and it is not something you can anticipate," Ciarkowski said. The machine, he said, has been shut down pending further inspection to make sure it is safe for operations. "The good news is that no one was injured," said Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy. "It did blast through the roof very close to one of the (owners) but it was his lucky day and nothing happened to him." </U></I></B></STRONG></EM>

From the Ubisoft home page you can still go to the Lock On forums, but www.lo-mac.com address takes you to Ubisoft home page, instead of the Lock On web site.
-
Look like Ubisoft took down their Lock On site. I had it as one of my favorites, now it just send me to the Ubisoft home site.

When I have stutting, I check the Task Manager, and found there were processes running in the background, my biggest troubler maker was apdpoxy.exe, I would hit the end task buttion, then all would be good. Or you could use a program to shut down unnecessary applications and processes, such as FSAutoStart. Taxing on the ground I had stutting untill I up the RAM from 1 gig to 2 gigs. I'm using XP, I read that vista uses lots or ram.

Almost the same happen to me. All of the sudden, I had engine, and some radio voices only, wepons, flaps, etc were gone. Didn't change a thing, no mods or file change, load it and they were gone! After pulling my hair out, searching the forums, checking files, trying this and that, I did a reinstall, what a headache, uninstalling, reinstalling, putting the mods back, change the graphics file to how I like it. But it works. Wish I knew what happen.

Check the sideslip indicator at the bottom of the ADI, you can eliminate the slip by using the rudders.
