As a old A-10 pilot, since Lockon came out. I fly 10 to 12 thousand feet AGL to avoid IR SAMs whenever possible. Know the map, print them out, study the briefing, Used the intel provided, but stay weary, there may be hidden SAMs or AAA. Use your eyes, zoom in, watch for missile launches. Puffs of smoke, and/or smoke trails. In FC2 its much harder to locate targets.( More realistic.) Under 10,000 ft, used flairs if over enemy territory. If AWACS is on duty, listen to it. If there is a enemy fighter within 45nm and no friendly fighters to protect you, RUN, use ECM, but remember there is a HOJ system. Hit the deck, if the RWR shows your being track, jinks around, don't fly straight for more than 3 seconds, and get inside your side's SAM coverage. Get to know the RWR system. Know your enemy, range of what showing on the RWR, Air defense capacity of the ground vehicles. And don't try to be a hero. When things get too hot, back off, get over friendly ground. Take a deep breath, think out what happen, and how to safely engage the targets. A good source of A-10 tactics and the ideas behind them is the book, Warthog, Flying the A-10 in the Gulf War, by William L. Smallwood.

Rule #1, Read the manual !!!, But come here for any questions, we're all here to help each other.

I'm have the crossfire enable box check, dual 5780 and getting much better FPS than you. None lower than 37, strafing targets from the A-10 in a city. But I also have Intel 975 Extreme overclock processor.

Last year it happen to me. Drove me crazy. I found out if I touch the toe brake, ( even a little, without knowing it ) on the CH peddles, I rolled. I remap the peddles and that solved it.

I had the same trouble, Lighting pointed this out to me. It was my problem. "I assume that you have an ATI Graphics Card and use the Catalyst Driver 10.3 ( that might be wrong but since i had the same bug when i was experimenting with some graphics driver settings it might be right here) Open your Catalyst Control Center. Click on "Graphics" , then click on "3D" , then on "ALL" Scroll down untill you see Anti Aliasing Mode Slider !!! DO NOT USE --> "Adaptive Multi-sample AA (middle slider position) Try the ---> "Super-sample AA" Setting and everything will be O.K. again. ( slider to full right position ! ) Dont forget to click on "Apply" and "OK" after that, or the changes will not be applied when you close the Catalyst Program ! I hope this helps."

Thanks guys for all your help. It was the ATI Adaptive Multi-sample AA. I don't know how it change. I used two rules in computer land. #1 If it ain't broken, don't fix it # 2 When I make a change. In a notebook I write down were ( program, folder, file). What I did ( change value / settings before and after) And why I change it. The only thing that might have change it, is when I shut down there was a auto upgrades from Microsoft that installed. Your guess is as good as my, probably better. However Thanks to Lighting for pointing out what happen I'm a happy camper again. And Mustang I thought about keeping it just to make it easier to find targets, lol Thanks again for all your help

Last night everthing was good. I shut down. Tonight this appers, check out the screen shots. I uninstall everthing, including Modman, check the folders to make sure everthing was gone. Reinstall and its still there. Try the reinstall twice. The external views and all other planes are good, Just the A-10. Any suggestions

Vecko Thanks, it help, they still seems to be transparent at a distance. I'll keep treaking. I also had issues with the texture, A.S post #86 in the FC 2.0 FPS Tweaks/MODs thread made it nice.
-
I see the roads but not the bridges, however if I zoom in the bridge appears, zoom out they disappears, is there any settings I can try to have them visible.
-
This is what I miss the most. When flying online: To pick you own payload that matches your assignment in the mission. e.g. I'll load up with GP bombs to take out the bridges, that stops the convoys. While someone else loads up on mavs and cluster bombs to hit the convoys. To fuel up as needed. Less fuel for short hops to the fount lines, or to reduce weight. Full tanks with a external tank for long missions, such as a sneak attack on a enemy airbase deep in his territory. To change the skin to a custom job, and to change the plane's number. I consider number 17 as my lucky number, and always change the default number to this one.

Here's my two cents worth. Same trouble with the WP distance on the A-10 HUD, as Maximus's post #40 "A10A Hud, while in nav mode. the Waypoint/distance on HUD it will update automatic. but when you switch to A/G mode the Wapoint/distance will not update at all, have to switch to nav to update the wp/distance on the HUD." Also when I zoom in, (lean in to the monitor with TrackIR) the cockpit gets larger, but the HUD display stays the same. As the bottom of the HUD/top of the dash, travels upward it covers up the lower part of the HUD infomation.

Did a reinstall everthing looks good.

Read about not crashing in window mode. I uncheck the full screen box. start the sim, having two monitors the view spill over to the second one. Then I reduce the res. fron 2560-1600 to 1920-1200. This takes up the entire screen. 30" wide. NO CRASHES !!! BUT another bug apper, only in MP. The targer designator for the mav sits on the left side of the hud, can go up or down but not right. When I try to slew it right the TVM flickers. Its ok in SP. I try changing the keycommand for the left movement, didn't change. The bomb reticule moves around fine, only the maverick.
-
Ok, just clear the commands in the saitek column, stills crashes, try using only the keyboard to cycle weapons, crashed.
-
Just check the control screen. Found the cannon, Weapon change, fire and release in the Saitek column. I did not put them there, maybe a default thing. I'll clear them tonight, and see if it still crashes. Will report back.
-
Joystick fire buttion, I'll try the keyboard tonight. Two ATI 5870 with crossfire enable.
-
It just did it again in a SP game. When I cycled for bomb drop.
-
I know when I'm going to crash. At times when I cycle the weapons, to the maverick, it's aiming reticle moves to the left by it self, when it gets all the way over I crash. This only happens ( so far ) in MP. I do use the X52 HOSTA. No mods installed.
-
Is there? I flew FC2 online, when I left, once on my own, the other time was by a A2A missle. There isn't a debriefing screen. I check the manuals about the MP part of the sim. Can't find anything about debriefing. It's nice to know what you hit, or who hit you, and with what.

To opean as administrator, right click on the TrackIR icon, a window comes up with options. left click on run as administrator.
-
Thanks for the reply. I always try to fly as close to realism as possible. Many years ago when I was just starting out, I ask about the Tor's, I was advised this was the way to defeat them. I'll do a search to find the proper way to deal with them.
-
Ok, thats going to mess up my attack on the Tor's. I use to wait until it launch, hit the ECM, the missle would blow up. Turn off ECM, the Tor would launch again, turn ECM back on, missle would blow up. Did this about 6 times before I got into its ECM burn through range. Then I would circle and repeat it for the last two missles. After that, the Tor threat was gone, and a easy kill was at hand. Time to find another tactic.
-
I found that ECM in the A-10 when is first turn on, it flashes on and off,( green lights, yellow lights ) for 15 sec. before turning on steady. Is this new to FC2.
-
I was also going nuts, then I remember to opean TrackIR as administrator. ( stupid me ) Had to change the Z axis for zoom, can't be happier. I'm also a A-10 pilot.

Being a A-10 pilot and reading about the common stats project, my view about Point stats / Ace stats Point stats are good, but not a good indication of the pilot's skill. Even with negative points for crashing. Kill enough targets and you will climb up in the points standings. Using a ratio such as the 51st, a pilot has to survive to be included the Ace ranks. Such as I did last week. My story. Knowing that with my ratio one more crash I would be out of the ace stats ( there are only five spots ). I got hit, Right engine out, hydraulics, among others, I was out of control, at 11000 feet. I was going to eject and so would my ace status. Calming down, I tried to get out of the spin, slowly leveling out with hard left stick and full left rudder. now at 5000ft, flying straight, at least I'm over friendly territory, no worries about SAMs and no Red fighters on the scoreboard. But now I see the fuel gage is going down quick, right tank hit. Time to check out the controls. Have to keep full left rudder with the left engine running or I would yaw, As soon as I start to bring the stick over toward the right, the plane started to roll. Pitch was somewhat ok, flaps, air brakes were out. Airbase was 17miles out. But the runway is at 040 degrees, my heading was 290 degrees. I could make a very slow wide turn, but with the fuel leak, it would be flame out before I even got close to 040. Ok I'll try it, but may have to punch out. Nine miles out, I spotted a somewhat straight road at my one o clock. With small yaws I lined with it, Cut the throttle, ease up on the rudder. Thank God the gear drop down. Came in fast but steady, hit the ground than went for a wild ride though the countryside. MADE IT. If I was going for points, it would have been eject, than respawn. To stay a ace I had to work for it.
